Geita is really nice. The food and drinks is delicious. All the menu items were tasty. Fantastic experience dining here.

Absolutely top notch food, super friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Also… 10/10 for the playlist. This place isn’t cheap, but it is good value.
Be the first to ReplyReally, Really Good
Superb and creative food with an excellent accompanying wine package. We loved the background music which had us humming along throughout the evening. Service was fantastic despite the restaurant being extremely busy. The courses are paced really nicely - our meal took over 3 hours and did not feel at all rushed. One thing to note is that there are two sittings every evening and, if you book the second sitting, you have to wait outside until everyone from the first sitting has left. That's no big deal on a summer evening but not great when you are outside for 15 minutes in minus 10 degrees!

2nd, visit. Kind of disappointment. Food mediocre, staff not very polite at the beginning but improved during the meal. First visit last year we had a menu. This time not anything but explanations of the ingrediences. Ordered the vinepackaga which was very tasteful though. Loud kind of rock music. When asked kindly to turn down the volume we got no response other than it goes up and down? Afraid we will not visit again. Oslo have a lots of other excellent restaurants to choose from. Four disappoined visitors.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional as always. Better than a few 1 Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to. A favourite in Oslo.
Back again (and again). Can't stay away from what is for me is the best and most consistent upper tier restaurant in Oslo. They’ve just opened again after summer break, with a totally new menu, but same exquisite quality. The dishes are just masterfully composed with different tastes and textures in every bite; at the same time there is a simplicity to it all that just makes you enjoy it for what it is, very very good food, that makes you go “mmmm” and take another bite. The wine package that followed was expertly chosen and complimented the individual dishes perfectly. A special mention goes to the delicious Sake that was served, and which I felt really elevated then dish to even higher levels. All that being said this place is really wonderful and enjoyable every single time we’ve been here. The personnel are friendly and easy going, the owner and chef is always attentive and friendly. Another wonderful experience, both culinary and otherwise.
Be the first to ReplyGeita restaurant rocks!
Geita is a small, intimate restaurant tucked away in one of Oslo's most cozy neighborhoods. The food, service, and attention to detail couldn't be better, and the "full experience" dinner is nothing short of mind-blowing. From the spicy king crab and beef tartar with ponzu, to the most amazingly tender squid and delicious ice cream, Geita is a dinner for the ages.
Be the first to ReplySunday open with a bang!
Geita Restaurant newly announced that it will start serving on Sundays as well. A significantly reduced menu with a single main course , dessert and coffee. A great occasion for quality’s food. A different dish every Sunday. Today’s dish was a veal schnitzel. It being mine and a good friend’s childhood (an current) favourite, we couldn’t ignore the opportunity and we met up for dinner. And boy did it live up to the expectations. I have eaten here’s before. Full 8-course. I have now eaten here again, A simpler, homier dinner, reminiscent of my childhood and yet so much better (sorry mom). Delicious food. Great wine. Friendly, non assuming and precise service. Good choice of whiskey to finish it all off. And like before, awesome music in the background. Thanks for the food/experience. I’ll be back! (To be read with the appropriate Austrian accent as befitting today’s main course).
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, meagre wine package
Great food, however, the wine package was not worth the NOK 1150 pp. Cheap wines and meagre servings. If I come back, I will consider the winelist instead.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect evening in every imaginable way, and even some surprising ways.
I can't praise this restaurant enough. From the place itself, with the open kitchen and the somewhat rustic and yet classy design and feel to the imaculate dishes that were served.
8 courses of intense and yet extremely well balnaced flavoures that take your palate on a journey with ever bite. A well balnaced wine menu that liftet the dishes to an even higher level.
Supplementing the exqusite palatal experience was an extremely hospitalble crew and service. To top it all off I will even comment on the music played during the whole evening. I dont know if it was intenational or not, but even the music was perfect and seemd to vary in accordance to the dishes served and the food and experience even further. From Nick Cave to 90's pop, Norwegian classics to Norwegian rock and believe it or not even Iron Maiden made and appearance at around dish 5-6. I never knew i have missed out on a good Maiden classic during a romantic dinner.
The resulting evening was a combination of taste, texture, taste, smell, audible and visual stimuli that coaleced into a perfect experience of the highest class and yet with the feet plantet steady on the ground.
Metallica playing in the background
It was brilliant. In the midst of the lockdown, wine was out of the question. However they prepared an amazing juice package. The food was really well balanced. Some dishes very surprising, some really familiar, but then still completely mouthwatering.
With some Metallica playing in the background, they really tickled all my senses.
Booked a table again... because I'm curious about how they do their wines..
Great food, recommended
Thanks to Covid we were unable to dine in, but they prepared a 5 course meal for us to take away. The 3 starters were to be eaten cold, we only had to heat up the main course at home. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were huge. Looking forward to going back and dining ‘properly’ when the Covid restrictions are lifted.

Had a fantastic visit to Geita, the atmosphere was very pleasant and food was supergood, based on excellent pure ingredients, combined to give wonderful taste experiences. Hard to say which of the 7 dishes was the best, but the tartar was something else. Due to COVID19 there were no vines served, but the non-alcoholic drinks that were presented to each dish were excellent combinations of fruit, berries and teas that matched the dishes perfectly. Service was also excellent.
We'll be back👍☺
