Amazing experience.
Everything about it was whimsical. It was extremely fascinating watching the highly trained chefs. Use her tweezers to pick each piece of the salad and place them in its proper place. An unforgettable experience, and amazing food. I appreciate the head chef And owner that partook in the entire experience.

What an amazing experience! Have been to some other prix fixe spots in town but this is definitely the most unique. Lots of interaction with the chef, and a very fun, non-pretentious vibe. Playful and delicious meal. The sommelier was also beyond amazing. Recommend wine pairing also.

I've been to a lot of great places in Atlanta - but this is truly a different and amazing experience. The chef was so interactive with us - the thoughtfulness of the dishes - the fun and non pretentious yet elevated dining experience.... Truly unique and memorable. The sommelier and wine pairing perfect compliment!
Be the first to ReplyThis was easily the best dining experience I've ever had in
This was easily the best dining experience I've ever had in Atlanta, and I've been to most of the great restaurants in and around the city. My daughter and I booked the Georgia Boy for a nice evening out. I already had high expectations given what I had previously read online, but to say that Georgia Boy exceeded those expectations would be an understatement. It's not just a meal, it's not just a chef's table, it's an incredible dining experience. The food was off the charts in terms of creativity, presentation and taste, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere and the way they set up the entire experience was magical. Chef Joey Ward and his team have created something special at Georgia Boy, and I can't recommend it enough...and now I'm looking forward to going back soon with my wife!

What can I say about Georgia Boy that hasn't already been said? This was by far the most unique and incredible dining experience I've had to date. I don't want to ruin the surprises for anyone else so I won't go into details. I'll say every course was perfectly executed and flawlessly presented. The staff were fun and friendly. It will leave you wanting to go back for more!!
Be the first to ReplyGeorgia Boy really stood out for me in terms of creativity
Georgia Boy really stood out for me in terms of creativity and experience after trying several noteworthy tasting menus in the past. Maybe it's because I'm a native Atlantan, but these guys truly understand how to blend literature, art, food, and culture into an unforgettable dining experience. The kitchen has a low-key vibe, and the service is awesome. If you're looking for a unique dining adventure, book a table at Georgia Boy now!

I am a big "Foodie"and think I've now had my foodie dream come true in ATL. @georgiaboyatlanta was by far the best meal I've ever had in the city. Such a great example of fine southern food set in a speakeasy kitchen atmosphere. Each bite burst with flavor and built upon the next. The Milk and Cereal, Buford Highway, Pork Belly and Oyster were huge highlights. The presentation of each course was whimsical and playful. An incredible evening of wonderful food, friends and the best in fine dining. A big thank you to our hosts @angela.herrington.3 and scottjohnson. Can't wait to go again.
Be the first to ReplyThis is where I believe Michelin reviews are not perfect.
Georgia Boy should have received the highly touted and desired Michelin Star along with other counterparts in the Atlanta area such as Lazy Betty. Atlanta, in my opinion, still not as competitive as NYC or other major cities where Michelin starred restaurants reside. However, there are a few stand outs, and when the list was announced, I was shocked that this restaurant did not receive a star. Georgia Boy's culinary skill, technique, art/visual, service, etc. exemplify a Michelin Star. Again, shocked and learned through this new list for Atlanta that Michelin reviewers are human beings after all. Georgia Boy is a speakeasy style restaurant where a set of 8 can make reservation at certain slots during the evening. The restaurant is embedded inside Southern Belle, and the concept is unique in itself for Atlanta. The owner and executive chef created Southern Belle dedicating it to his wife, Emily Ward, and Joey Ward, the executive chef is the Georgia Boy. I find it romantic. The menu changes depending on the actual season. Of course this is a multi-course meal, so here are some memorable items. The restaurant first place you in the "library" and it is pretty cozy. People around me started to wonder if this is where they will be eating. The answer is no. This is just to go over expectations and pre-tasting items. The blueberry pancake was very unique. The pancake was in a flute like glass and had a piece of "blueberry," which ended up being the blueberry reduction pancake. Pleasantly surprised. Then, the hostess walks you through a murphy door, and you get placed into the kitchen where you will start your real experience. "A Trip Down Buford HWY" changes depending on the season, but what the executive chef does is he picks cuisines from Buford Hwy in Atlanta and makes a fusion based course. He nails this quite well. Heirloom Tomato Focaccia was a big surprise. He basically reduces the tomatoes and rebuilds the tomato back up. In the bottom of the tomato, the "ground or soil" where the tomato is grown from, is an interesting artistic expression. Perfectly balances the acidity from the tomato. Using all Georgia ingredients, including Georgia made olive oil, you can really feel the chef's intent to highlight Georgia's produce. Not sure if the restaurant is still making this, but caviar within an egg yolk... just simply amazing. When I first took that bite, my tongue was blown away. Initially, from a visual perspective, it looked like an over-easy egg. Obviously, it was not. When I split the "yellow yolk" in half, there was caviar. Just brilliant combination and artful way to present and surprise the patron. Again, the menu changes so what I had may not be there when someone tries it. However, I know that Georgia Boy will always have a duck dish. The duck cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside with perfect seasoning and juicy and savory in the inside. The duck is glazed perfectly with other accompaniments. Most likely, you will also have a dessert that is presented to you in a beater. There is a story behind the dessert, and it is a unique way of eating a dessert. Just overall great flavor and it is tribute to the chef's memory when he ate cake mixes or cake through the beater at home. Overall, there are about 15ish courses, so obviously, I can't list them all, but the theme is consistent through every season. I highly recommend this restaurant. If someone asks, top two restaurants in Atlanta that resembles other competitive Michelin Star restaurants with advanced technique and art from other cities such as New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Seoul, Rome, Paris, London, Tokyo, Vienna, Berlin, etc., I say Georgia Boy is one of them.

If you want to go on a wild and exceptional culinary ride, don't sleep on the Georgia Boy experience! This is a multi-course tasting menu that is so much fun from start to finish! You start off in their little library for the first few courses, then proceed through the "secret door" into their kitchen area for the remainder of your courses. The food, you ask? It is delicious, full of love, whimsical, and so creative. When you really take time to think about it, it's mind blowing how much prep time goes into this food. So many intricate details, such as leaves made from sweet potatoes. The visual appeal of the courses is stunning, and more importantly translates into tasting amazing! Service is seamless, as you would expect. But what's really nice is that there are no pretentious or stuffy vibes. They have wine pairings available that really elevate the experience, and also really fun zero proof options.
Be the first to ReplyFood service and ambience were amazing.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. We would highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyI'm new to the area and just in town.
This place is a hoot and it's close to my house. I'm so excited to be in the south and enjoy the good food and happy people. I recommend the frozen froie gras and filet mignon.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service and sub-par food.
comparable to 7-11 gas stations
Be the first to ReplyI have mixed feelings about the experience I had at Georgia
I have mixed feelings about the experience I had at Georgia Boy. We received two texts leading up to the reservation date not to be tardy because it may result in missed courses. Well, we get there at 5:20 for a 5:30 reservation. 5:30 rolls around and 6 out of the 8 people are there already. We were told service wouldn't start until everyone was there. WHY DID YOU TELL US TO NOT BE TARDY when in fact you're ok waiting for people? I felt this was disrespectful to the people who actually arrived on time. So note to future diners, don't be the late asshole since the whole group of 8 has to be there for the dinner to start. The food started off a little weak in flavor but improved vastly after the 3rd course. The style of the food is avant garde and playful. The beverage pairings were well matched to the foods and no, they do not give you 15 glasses of wine. The pastries and desserts were excellent and probably my favorites in the tasting menu.

I came to Georgia Boy after loving Southern Belle and was similarly impressed by the experience. These restaurants have both become some of my favorites in the city. Each course is well-balanced and beautifully prepared. The drinks and service are also great. I enjoyed being able to watch the food be assembled in the kitchen too (although there's less "cooking" and mostly just assembly given restaurants prep most ingredients in advance). Overall I'd highly recommend Georgia Boy, and I look forward to trying it again sometime soon.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a very expensive fine culinary experience.
The chef is an artist of culinary delights. He is passionate and it shows. You are paying for an experience not merely a meal. If you can afford it, be thankful. Having said all of this, it is not something I would pay this much for again for a long time to come but I am happy to have experienced it.
Be the first to ReplyAn absolute scam.
All involved should be ashamed of themselves for offering such mediocre offerings for an extravagant price. None of the courses were anything more than okay, nothing was balanced, some were overly salty or heavily one-note. And for a bill of over $600 for two people, it felt like robbery. Terrible experience.
Be the first to ReplyI would love to give a great review, as some of our plates
I would love to give a great review, as some of our plates tasted amazing. I can't, however, because we left feeling ripped off. In my wife's words: "the portions felt like 'slap in the face' insulting." We had the 4 course chefs menu, and were sold a $19.00 up charge to a $107.00 meal to swap our lamb for dry aged steak. When the main course came out we were dumbstruck by the fact that our $19 "up charge" - which was over and above the $47 that they charge for the lamb on its own - only amounted to two slivers of steak. Charging what amounts to $66.00 for ~2 ounces of steak can't be made up for with a few bites of really amazing tasting sides that came with it. Especially since the steak was essentially room temperature when they served it.I wanted to love this place, but when you get a $330 bill (without even having wine) as a party of two, you shouldn't leave with your wife telling you that she is looking forward to some leftover pizza at the house.
Be the first to ReplyI'm a few months late on this, ate there in March.
We needed a reservation for chef's table. We were a group of 4 and 2 are vegetarians. Even though there were a lot of mushroom dishes, they were different mushrooms so different flavor and they were prepared differently also affecting flavor. We also did the beverage pairing for each of the 15 courses and I think the non-alcoholic drinks paired better and tasted incredible. We started at the back of the restaurant behind some curtains and with champagne. The first few courses there were pretty unique in presentation: honey ham cotton candy machine, chicken and waffles cone and the prosthetic arm was the best part. The server Jessica was very patient with me trying to get a good shot of her opening the bookcase door to the kitchen and chef's table.Smoked salmon, dippin dots, so creative and plated nicely. A sweet potato milk roll was ITS OWN course. Charleston sea beans, nori pavlova, Maine lobster, beef and broccoli, pig and his truffle, back in black, dark chocolate, red velvet cake batter...all smelled and tasted amazing and the presentation pretty, clean, unique, and interactive. I loved the lick the batter experience! Outstanding dinner!!
Be the first to ReplyWe celebrated a birthday by having dinner at Georgia Boy.
When I did a search of unique dinner experiences in Atlanta and came across this, I still didn't quite know what to expect. We were served 15 courses. Four of them during a little cocktail time, and the rest inside the actual kitchen. The entire experience, the smells, the visuals, the taste. 10/10. It's evident these people care about what's important, and that's the food. I can't put into words how delicious the food is. The unique flavor combinations, the presentation-- just amazing. WORTH EVERY PENNY.

You know that feeling of finding an amazing new song or artist before the mainstream figures it out? The joy of the find, but knowing that the secret will be out soon and not wanting to share it? Well, that's exactly the feeling I had this last weekend at Georgia Boy. I've been lucky enough to catch rising stars a handful of times, and I'm certain to my bones that Chef Joey Ward and his team are headed for great things in the southeast food scene. The flavors and creativity are equally masterful. Chef Joey is as humble and genuine as they come. The kitchen team worked in silent unison. There was no need to shout at each other. They knew the dance and executed it to perfection. Keller, Achatz, Trotter. Expect Ward to be in that Pantheon, and in the not so distant future.
Be the first to ReplyWhat an amazing experience from right when you get seated
What an amazing experience from right when you get seated to the very end. The hostess, server, sommelier and chefs were all so nice and seemed to really enjoy what they are doing and the small amount of guests per seating (8) makes it feel super intimate and gives you a chance to meet some new people. The presentation and taste of everything was so beautiful and delicious! I did get the beverage pairing and my husband got the zero-proof (non-alcoholic) beverage pairing, which to be quite honest I enjoyed his drinks was more than mine BUT the last wine was so good I bought two bottles to take home! I usually like to write in detail about every dish but I rather not ruin the surprise for future guests because it was all so amazing. If I had the budget to come here all the time, I'd bring everyone. Thank you chefs!
