Be the first to ReplyThough the wait staff and food is very good, the hostess
Though the wait staff and food is very good, the hostess put a damper on our evening. Seated, without looking at us, she could not find our reservation. It was early, there were few tables occupied, and even after we showed her the confirmation text, she wasn't budging. It was simply rude. She took us to a tent, outdoors in the rain. No management was evident. The poor waiters were drenched, but professional. Recommend the meatball appetizer, pasta and butterscotch dessert. Today, one week after our visit, we received a call to confirm our reservation. Something is amiss.
Be the first to ReplyThe pastas were excellent.
However, they were quite small and overpriced. We shared 1 appetizer, 3 pastas, and a steak among three people and we were still hungry. But that wasn't the biggest issue. The bad review is really for the atrocious service. The hostess was so unfriendly, as well as our waiter. It's a shame really because I would come back for those pastas if it wasn't for the awful service. Go spend your hard earned money somewhere else, this place doesn't need it.

Thank you to the lovely host Carmela & our server Francesco for a wonderful evening! First time coming here and I definitely see why this is a hot spot. Very intimate outdoor seating area. The food was spectacular in taste, my only regret is not ordering another pasta dish. My favorites of the evening were the veal & carpaccio. The sauce on the carpaccio was so lovely and creamy in taste. I would return and try the rest of their menu. Highly recommend making a reservation weeks in advance.

The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere, and the staff welcomed us. The dishes were bursting with flavors, and they looked spectacular.

The corn agnolotti is simply the best! Love the wine selection and pastas. I'm obsessed.

Oh my love! My favorite hidden gem, always consistent goodness. My serial faves are the sweet corn ravioli, lobster for two and the butterscotch pudding. The most romantic, authentic Italiano ristorante in LA. Truly an unpretentious, locals spot.

Of course we only dined here because of Rih and I feel like she has her own special menu because this place is definitely hyped. Regardless, I ordered the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter and it was delicious. The ravioli just melted in your mouth and the aromatic sage butter was the cherry on top. The portions are extremely small so I had to order a portion in a half. It's not family style yet the portions can barely feed one person. Overpriced forsure but my dish was good. Service was great and the outside seating was small and loud but it worked. I wouldn't come back unless someone was treating me.

Great food, great service and the BEST scene in LA

If you're feeling nostalgia for getting scammed in Italy, come to this place. There is really nothing special. First they wanted to sit us in the back corner in the backyard patio next to a table with a large dog to be seated next to us while eating. They accommodated our request to dine indoors. But that was after they suggested that we go up the street to a noisy sports bar until our table was ready. We went up the street, took one look and came back and asked that we wait in one of the empty tables just outside of the entrance. Once seated, the food and service were both average. We ordered two salads, a pasta, a white fish and a tiramisu, and one red wine. Overall it was totally overpriced for the quality of food. If you do come here, best thing is to book a table inside, only order pastas, eat and then get out of there. Also valet is $17 cash but changes to $20 if on a credit card. These little details feel scammy.

I have been going to Giorgio's for years sporadically and always had good to excellent meals there. The atmosphere is Southern California elegant and the service is normally good. Last night I went and was profoundly disappointed. The 'special' appetizers were not better than fair (carpaccio) and the main courses ordered by all of us, steak, was just awful. They were underdone, unseasoned, tough meat....I was profoundly disappointed and angered as it was a birthday for of us. I won't be back....there have to be places in LA who value both celebrity and non celebrity visitors, and this restaurant is not one of them.

Since I'm italian from Milano, I will write this in both in italian first then english ..Veramente uno schifo, camerieri maleducati e vestiti male, servizio pessimo, cibo cattivo e presentato malissimo, prezzi fuori di testa! Lascia stare sto locale.. ce' ne sono di buoni, ma sicuramente questo non é uno dei buoniMy entire experience in this restaurant yesterday was horrible, the waiters not only dress terribly, but are rude with very poor manners. In fact, three of them all looked like they could use a bath. As we were leaving one waiter actually pushed us out of the way. The service, food, portions and presentation were all beyond terrible. The prices they charge should be illegal, calling it over priced would be putting it mildly and I suggest you look at other restaurants in the area, this place is not worthy to be called an italian restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyWe were heading to down to the Santa Monica Pier and my son
We were heading to down to the Santa Monica Pier and my son wanted Italian food. The concierge at our hotel tried a few places but everyone was booked. She was however able to get a table here. We had high hopes from the reviews and recommendation from the concierge, however it was not what we expected. The waiters were very friendly and helpful, but the food was basic at best, and for an Italian restaurant we were shocked how little food we got. The burrata was good but the carpaccio was covered in a cream sauce which covered the flavor of the beef. We were told that the ravioli is their signature dish. It contained maybe 20 of the tiniest raviolis I have ever seen. It didn't even fill half the plate. It would have been perfect as an appetizer, it was definitely not enough for a dinner. Plus, since they were so small they had almost no filling, which meant no flavor. We also got the Spinach Pasta with Meat Sauce. It was the tiniest pile of pasta and again very little flavor. After that dinner, we opted for dessert elsewhere since we didn't want more over priced food for what you get. As you can tell from my review, we do not plan to return and will definitely not recommend it to others.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was so good, my girl fell in love with the chef.
Ambiance was romantic. Wine and pasta was unreal l.

Went here for a birthday and was not disappointed! Probably the best Italian food I have had on the west coast. The restaurant is cool and almost tucked away and the valet is pretty much mandatory unless you got a ride to the restaurant. But I am counting down the days til I get to go back. Highly recommend the gnocchi, melts in your mouth.

Wanted to eat there since it's always being mentioned as a legendary celebrity hangout for Hollywood royalty. To our surprise the food was excellent and the service was warm, welcoming, efficient and impeccable. Behind an anonymous hedge on a nondescript street on the Santa Monica/Pacific Palisades waterfront border is a tiny but inviting room and covered outdoor patio with many tables jammed in there. Warm, low-key and bustling with happy, buzzing customers and hard-working staff. The veal milanese, agnolotti and beet salad were excellent and the portions were generous. The butterscotch pudding and some kind of chocolate cake were both heavenly. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and efficient. and you can watch the extremely busy kitchen staff cooking through a glass partition. Wine selection is huge. All in all, a home run and an extremely satisfying meal. It deserves its excellent reputation.
Be the first to ReplyI went here the other night for dinner with friends.
They had a fully booked night and we're still able to accommodate us. The staff was super friendly and down to earth as well. The food was absolutely delicious. Our servers had great energy and overallWas a great experience! I see why Rihanna loves this place ;)

This place was once wonderful when Giorgio was alive, but his daughter has run it into the ground as a tourist trap. Avoid and try Angelini or Delphini nearby.
Be the first to ReplyReservations are highly recommended.
They do take walk-ins, but just make it easier on yourself and make reservations. The main dining area is fairly small, but they have a covered Covid created seating area with heating lamps and faux grass which is where I sat. They serve complimentary bread. I had the sweet corn ravioli which was so reminiscent of the food in Italy. The servers were also Italian which doesn't often happen here. I came for a birthday and for dessert I had the salted caramel dessert which was really good and not too sweet. The food was good and so authentic, but the service was absolutely lacking. I felt brushed over. The food was served and no one checked on us the rest of the evening. When I made reservations I specified that it was for a birthday and emphasized it again when I arrived at the restaurant and again when I ordered the dessert. When the dessert was served it was simply that. Another table had sparklers on their dessert. Could I have missed something? Oh well. I don't know if I'd come back here or not even though it is a hot spot for celebrities.

Another over-rated restaurant riding on its former reputation. Food is good but tiny TINY portions and very expensive. Waiters are rude. The place is pretentious and not worth it.

Living in Atlanta and strongly considering moving to Santa Monica to be a regular here. Visited this place a few months after being in Italy and nothing I had in Italy came close to how incredible this spaghetti pomodoro was. I think about it way more often than I care to admit. The restaurant is TINY. You're practically on top of the table next to you but it's not weird? Extremely knowledgeable servers who made great recommendations. But did I look up what Rihanna gets here and order some of those pastas? Sure did. And don't regret it. You have to call for reservations which isn't ideal given I don't enjoy talking on the phone like most millennials but everyone there couldn't be nicer. Do yourself a favor and get to Giorgio Baldi asap unless you enjoy eating mediocre pasta.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food.
Cute lil place. The service is weird depending on who you are & what they deem you to be. But I always enjoy my plates & wine so I come back often.

The food is very average but yet they are very overpriced for the quality of food they give you. The service is good but again I have had MUCH better Italian food elsewhere

Tried this place last minute as I've lived in LA most of my life and have tried many great Italian restaurants. Unfortunately this is not one of them. The food is good but the portions are terribly small. The worst part though was the service. Absolutely tragic. We were sat outside and all the waiters out there were drinking and partying the entire time. We got barely any attention and had to flag down waiters to get service. I noticed our server sitting down for 10-15 min at a time at other tables drinking with other patrons and doing god knows what else. Absolutely horrible will never come back.

There are some great Italian restaurants in LA, and this place isn't one of them. The food is Ok, nothing special, the service was good, but right at 10:00 p.m. they turn up the music in an attempt to push the customers out. It's more of a hype than a quality authentic Italian cuisine , and the location is not at all appealing. Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend this place.
