Bad experience
I do not recommend staying here. The pool was the only nice thing here. Customer service was not great! My phone in my room did not work, and the shower water kept running and would not shut off. I made a complaint to front desk and they said I would not be charged incidentals and resort fee and was still charged!! I asked for a manager to call me like they said they would and its 5 days later NO ONE HAS CALLED ME YET!! I would not stay here again! Elevators were slow too!

Gorgeous resort, staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful. We love that the service matched the beautiful decor and vibrant location on Fremont. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve stayed here 3x in the last two years. I keep going back because we love the pool. There’s a giant fish tank in the middle of the pool so it feels like you are swimming with the sharks. The table games aren’t as expensive as the casinos on the strip. It’s right on Fremont so the location is excellent. It has chick fil A and Starbucks etc inside which was lovely. The rooms are pretty dated but clean and comfy. We would definitely stay here again.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel N casino; very secure/ friendly staff
Great hotel friendly staff. Elevators won't work unless you have a room key and only work for you particular tower; thought this was great as it helps prevents just anyone from going to the room floors. Security is tight, a homeless person started asking my father for money and quickly the security officer ran him off. There are homeless people hanging out on Fremont Street, especially at night, but the Golden Nugget Casino doesn't have an open area like other casinos in the area where anyone can just walk-in. Loved the casino, loved the location, friendly staff and security officers were vigilant.

Amazing experience with everything. Hotel lobby staff was amazing. Room was amazing. All hotel staff were a pleasure to interact with.
Be the first to ReplyOk but stay on the strip if you can
The toilet in our room was so low. It was like it was made for a classroom of kindergarteners! I'm 5"6 and struggled every day to get off it and stand. Our room was never cleaned. I called to complain our last night there and they said I needed to call the night before to have it cleaned. I've never had that situation before! The room should be cleaned and towels restocked daily. Nowhere was that mentioned or I would have called daily. Also...2 Pina coladas and 2 chicken quesadillas were $72 from the pool?! You could get a fancy dinner and glass of wine in Paris for that! The rooms and hotel were very dated but the kids did love the pool and the sharks.

I stayed in their best room, a 2 bedroom suite in the spa tower. Room 10-G. When I first went to go up to the room, one of the two elevators was broken. So it was a 5-10 minute wait for the elevator. Minimum. One of the nights there was some event going on in the spa tower so I had to wait 30-45 minutes just to get up to my room. There was broken furniture in the room. The electric drapes didn’t work. The floor smelled like cigarette smoke. Room service never answered. The bell man who handled the luggage was rude. And lastly, I witnessed a sexual assault on the casino floor. Additionally, I went to dinner with a large party at the steak house, Vic and Anthony’s. We spent $3000 on dinner. Our party included someone in a wheelchair. They were pushy when it came to inquiring about this persons ability to climb up a stairs. This person has terminal cancer. I ordered a bottle of 2008 Cristal. They didn’t have it, but that didn’t stop them from trying to pass off another years vintage. Luckily I caught it. The food was good though. Spend your money elsewhere. I’m certain the service and amenities are better

On the third morning of a four-day stay at The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, we were awakened at 6AM by water coming through the ceiling and hitting a desk. It started out as a bunch of drips landing loudly on the desk—loud enough to wake us up!—and quickly turned into a flow of water. I immediately notified staff of the problem but it took them an hour to get to the room. While waiting, we cleared all of our personal possessions away from the area and put towels down. After a maintenance person arrived and looked at the damage (and the still-flowing water), he informed us we would be given another room and someone would bring up the key. This all transpired quite calmly and matter-of-factly. Sleep was not possible for me after all this, so I went down to watch a soccer game. I was gone for three hours, but when I returned to the room, we still had not received any information or keys for the new room. I went to the front desk and they didn’t seem to have any knowledge of the water situation or our new room, but eventually they got it taken care of and gave me new keys. There was no offer to help move our luggage, so we had to pack up and move everything ourselves. The new room smelled like a cigar lounge, even though all guest rooms at the hotel are ostensibly smoke-free. They offered to deodorize, which they did during a time that we told them we would be out of the room, and that did alleviate the smell quite a bit. We lost about 10 hours—the better part of day—before all this was done. Not to mention being awoken at 6AM with a little mini disaster while on vacation! When we checked out of the hotel, I described all the issues and the clerk offered to remove the resort fees for our stay. I asked to speak with the manager and waited close to an hour, but the manager never came out. I was told the hotel could not remove any room charges because we booked through a third party—Expedia. In order to get any compensation, I was told to talk with a security manager and file a report. I waited another 45 minutes for the security manager, who then had me describe the entire situation again. It really felt like the security manager’s role was to intimidate me. And why refer me to a manager that is not authorized to make adjustments to the hotel charges in the first place, only to have that manager never appear and then refer me to yet another manager who could also not do anything? After all this time trying to get resolution, through multiple discussions where I never raised my voice, I did not have more time to file a report. I had a work deadline that I had to take care of. And after that we had to leave for the airport. After returning home, I contacted Expedia and they called The Golden Nugget to seek resolution on my behalf. Once again, The Golden Nugget refused to take any action. I was very disappointed with how we were treated, and so much of my time wasted. This is a busy hotel casino, and you would think the staff would be better able to handle issues that inevitably come up. The water problem wasn’t caused by the hotel—it was a guest that left water running so long that it damaged the room below AND the room below that—yet the hotel staff’s response to that and the follow-on events was bungled with no attempt made to remediate. You would think they would want to treat guests like, well, guests. I will never stay at the Golden Nugget again.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Fremont St stay
Fantastic downtown stay. Room very clean and spacious. The pool is amazing and so is the shark slide. Staff were very friendly that we encountered. Check in only took about 10mins. Free parking for hotel guests. Very easy to access! Great location on Fremont Street. Would stay here again! Only downside is there is no fridge in the room unless you upgrade I believe. I think this would be essential in the summer. The air conditioning was fab and there was an ice machine on the floor.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible noise and customer service!
AVOID THIS HOTEL! We had a very disappointing stay at the GN. Upon check in, we were offered an early check in and "upgrade", both with a fee. Because it was 11:30 a.m., we'd planned to check our bags and wait until 3:00, but accepted the additional $50/night thinking we'd have a nicer room, and added convenience. Little did we know, at 6:00 p.m. the Fremont Experience starts blasting their music, and wouldn't you know our "upgraded" room faced Fremont St. There is no way to describe this level of noise other than comparing it to a car driving by with bass turned all the way up so you can actually feel the decibels. Luckily I noticed the handy sign on the nightstand and two pairs of industrial strength earplugs (which helped, but one can still hear the noise through them). This blasting music goes until 2:00 a.m., which I realize is not that late in Vegas! I emailed a complaint to customer service and asked for my $50 to be refunded. Their response apologized for the poor service, but omitted a response to the refund. The only good things about the GN were the very comfortable bed/pillows and our delicious meal at the steakhouse on site.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome hotel
Awesome hospitality. It’s hard to compete in Vegas but they did well! Good prices and friendly staff. Easy access to Fremont street and the pool was beautiful. Good choice is restaurants available inside the hotel as well.
Be the first to ReplyFun time thanks
Had a blast at your casino. Much better slot playing than on the strip. Also with it being smaller it was much easier to find each other when we would separate. Would definitely stay there again. Staff was very helpful and friendly,

Great place to stay. Rooms were clean, affordable, casino was fun and staff was friendly and helpful. Did not eat in any of the restaurants, so cannot comment on those. Would highly recommend staying here.
Be the first to ReplyA Mix of Pros and Cons
We stayed at the GN for four days in March. After reading some reviews, we wanted to upgrade to the Rush Tower and inquired ahead of our arrival. When we called, they said we could do it when we arrive, but when we arrived, they were sold out so we were put in the Carson Tower. Pros to our room in the Carson Tower (17th floor): It was quiet, elevators were fast, the room was clean, bed was comfortable, it has a huge TV and the housekeeping staff was great. Cons: The room was dark and in need of updating, no frig or microwave which are included with other renovated rooms, the hallways are dark and a rather depressing dingy yellow hue, and while the bathroom is large enough, it definitely showed its age. The pool area is nice but the drinks are expensive. For reference, a bloody Mary was $28. I realize this is somewhat expected, but it did seem a little high. The pool is nice, however, and servers are friendly. Tip: Instead of buying snacks, etc. from the very overpriced gift shop, walk up Fremont Street a couple blocks to Walgreens. It only takes a couple of minutes and you'll save a ton of $$! We ate at the Saltgrass Steak House, which was incredible. The service was great and the food superb. Make a reservation ahead of time, though, as it seems to be a popular spot. We also ate at the Cadillac Mexican Kitchen. It was also very good. One odd thing happened during my stay. I was looking at a text while walking through the hallway to the lobby. A staff member (I think he was selling tickets to shows or something) noticed my phone was ringing. He stopped me and said, "Do you know your phone is ringing?" The answer was yes, I did know it was ringing and for reasons that didn't concern him, I chose not to answer at that point in time. I am sure it was harmless, but struck me after the fact as really strange . Just weird. Because I'm "Midwest nice" to a fault, I responded to him politely in the moment but in retrospect, wish I wouldn't have been so polite. Generally, it's a decent property and staff is friendly. If I stay downtown again next time, I would consider staying again.
Be the first to ReplyGood except for…….
The room was fine, and our stay was fun. There were no vending machines working on our floor but they did provide bottled water. The only issue I had was the constant harassing hard sells every time we entered or exited from any door in the hotel. I started counting on day 2 of 5 and got to 18 times. They wouldn’t really take a simple no thank you and walked with us asking follow up questions. It was very annoying. None of the other hotels we visited did this.
Be the first to ReplyResort Credit Not honored
We were told that we had a $30 resort credit to be used at the resort, but it was never taken off of our bill. I double checked with the front desk, and was told it was there, but never taken off. I also never received the receipt until called 3 times, and I requested it 2 times online. Finally, I received all of the requested receipts at once. I a still waiting on a call back from accounting to get this strait.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic!
We had zero complaints. Staff was helpful and friendly, everything was clean and well kept. We were there 4 days and enjoyed our stay. Would stay again and recommend to others. Beautiful hotel with no issues.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel in the perfect location on Fremont Street.
Located in the middle of Fremont Street (the original Las Vegas strip). With a grest casino downstairs, including poker tables. A pool with a huge fish tank with sharks and big fish in, and even a slide going right through (even though the slide wasn’t yet open). Blackjack and craps tables out by the pool. Comfy beds. Most the staff were nice, although we had an issue with the security man guarding entry to the pool being exceptionally rude. Breakfast was a bit rubbish and slow service. Plenty of food outlets in the hotel, and easy to get a taxi to the hotel. Would recommend and would stay again.

When I checked into my room, I had been standing in a rather long line. This wasn’t bothersome at all since I had arrived around 6pm and anticipated the businesses. Gabriela came to me and three other guests, and offered to get us checked in elsewhere. She was not only friendly and patient, but was also efficient and accommodating. I immediately felt as though I’d made a great choice to stay at the Golden Nugget. My room accommodations were excellent, and access to everything was convenient. Our family had booked the GN for a basketball tournament weekend, which was only 15 minutes away. Self-Parking was easy as was checking out; often the most challenging experiences when staying and leaving a hotel. I’d definitely return to GN again, and appreciate your staff for making me and my family comfortable Have a great week, and thank you again! Sincerely, Nashona
Be the first to ReplyNot what it used to be
Got there at 11 AM systems were down (they say) so we could not do early check in which we did pay for. Went back every hour to see if they were up. Finally at 2 PM they said that the system will be back up at 3 PM (normal check in time). So I just stood there because at 3 PM I knew the line would be crazy. At 3 PM the line was outrageous and people extremely up set. It took one could who was at the end of the line 2 hours to get to check in. As for us, we had to argue with management for 30 minutes to get our money back for paying for early check in.

This is my favorite hotel on freemont street. Hotel, casino, and customer service are always great. I love the pool area. The rooms are affordable and always nice and clean. I have stayed at many places in Vegas but this is my favorite.

Stayed at the golden Nugget August 22, first time there and first time staying downtown. The experience was very pleasant. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was amazing and staff if very friendly. Check in line can get quite long, but went pretty fast. Downtown is loud and a party atmosphere but didn’t both us. Would definitely stay here in the future.
Be the first to ReplyWORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
I have been too a lot of hotels and this is by far the worst experience and I work at a hotel!!! The check in process was horrific!! They have about 10 kiosk and none of them worked. The workers had no care in the world! I never write reviews but this was insane.

The good; Check in was quick and efficient. The person doing the check in was welcoming and helpful. Our room was large and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The not so good; The smell that hit us as we walked from Taxi drop off and into the Carson lobby was horrible. I don't know if there was a sewer issue or what but it did not set a good tone for the hotel. The room had a very small window overlooking other rooftops. No big deal there for us but if you're expecting a view, this probably isn't the place for you. There were plenty of hangers in the closet. Unfortunately, the closet door did not stay open unless you put something next to it. There were no power plugs next to the bed and only a couple in the room as a whole. The room decor is dark, worn and outdated. The bathroom is horribly laid out. The door cannot be opened or closed while you are standing in front of the sink. This is definitely not a two person bathroom. The step to get into the shower is high and awkward and you cannot be turned on without being in it. This wouldn't be too much of an issue except the water comes out HOT. There was great water pressure but being hit with hot water so quickly was a bit startling. The mirror above the sink has a TV smack dab in the middle of it. It made zero sense (there was no remote for the TV that I saw but it's not something I would use so I didn't look too hard). The ONE tiny trash bin is in the bathroom. You get one. That's it. When we checked in, we asked for daily service for our room. I watched as the reception person put the information into the system. We did not get service the first day so we called guest services the second morning to request it. The "guest service" person was rude, telling us we needed to give them 24 hour notice to have the room cleaned. We informed her that we did give that notice. She was not happy with that news and hung up on us. Lovely. I had the displeasure of dealing with a different guest service person when I called to see if The Hideout was open. She rudely told me that the only way to get in was a reservation 24 hours in advance and there was nothing she could do for me. The best: the maid that came to clean the room was amazing and friendly, the guard at the pool was also very friendly when I checked with him about the hideout although I did not end up at the pool.
