Great find
What a great find, when we visit Mayfair we always like to try different restaurants, many times we are disappointed. But this one we will definitely visit again when in the neighbourhood. Everything was spot on, our server was fantastic, she was very attentive and knowledgeable, the food was great and the prawn tempura was one of the best starters I’ve eaten. A lovely little restaurant with great staff, food and atmosphere.

Met a girlfriend here for an early dinner - quite an informal setting but very smart. Friendly service but not familiar. Had the best steak that I had for a long time. Had a sirloin steak with fries and peppercorn sauce. So glad I didn't have any other sides as the steak and fries was more than ample - so much so that I couldn't eat a desert. Well worth a visit just to enjoy and appreciate an excellent steak.

What a fantastic Steak house!! They were fully booked but accommodated us by the bar which we were very happy with. We both had steaks and they were cooked to perfection. Friendly staff that made it even better! Well done

I am not sure whether this lady was the maître de or a manager but the prospective nature of the quality control on how our steak was cooked was excellent. She came to our table before our mains were presented to tell us our sirloin had been over cooked and they were cooking another one but we could have the overcooked one as well if we wanted. Rare to be so proactive and much appreciated . We had ribeye on the bone and sirloin . Yes the first sirloin was over cooked but the meat was very tender so we ended up eating most of both sirloins . As an Aussie the price for a steak is expensive but probably not if your from the UK . Overall a nice experience although I did have an expectation after what I heard of a more silver service experience and ambience. Would recommend and will return .

Before CV19 I was a regular. Often eating on my own on Business trips. Went approx once every month over a period of 7 years. Went back in December 22. Service was OK - but not great - a bit amateur. The food was very very disappointing. I know Goodman steaks and the quality just wasn't there on this occasion for either myself or my dining partner. Also the prices are now RIDICULOUS. A real shame. I had been looking forward to going back so much - but am sorry to say I am done with what used to be, in my opinion, the finest steak restaurant in London.

We have dined at Goodmans many times in the past 15 years. It has always been a premium priced steak house but has recently drifted into one that just overcharges for standards that are simply not what they used to be. For starters, well, there are not enough starters on the menu and with the prices averaging well over £20, the message is clear “We will take you for all we can”. The pricing of the steaks is now just overblown with the origins of the meat highly questionable. We are in the U.K. Scotland, the nation to which most of the world’s premium beef breeds can claim lineage, is, still, part of the U.K. and only 300 miles or so up the tracks. So, why, literally, on earth, are Goodmans listing Australian and US beef on the menu? Also, why has the blackboard/card of the day’s become one of entirely bone-in cuts with not a single one where the customer is not paying extra for at least 20% of weight in inedible bone? Because Goodmans can charge extra for it that’s why…. It’s becoming a common practice for premium steakhouses and butchers to sell a bone-in rib or tomahawk when clearly, this is just a means of fleecing the customer to pay for bone they can’t eat. When they have a blackboard of steaks ranging from £70 - £100 before even considering the sides, it’s no wonder most long standing customers like us end-up ordering the massively air-miled/ship-miled alternatives imported without the inflated add-on of a bone that’s only any use to a canine back at the house. One of us plumped for the Goodmans Burger as an alternative having never tried it before in the years we have been customers. Bad choice. 5 Guys around the corner do a far superior burger without the dried meat texture and the overly sugary sauce. The best thing about the selection of filets (Scots origin yippee) and ribeye (Aussie ..?!) and accompaniments we ordered was the spinach. We would not be rushing back for a considerable time. But Goodmans probably have enough money-no-sense passers-by to survive for sometime and it’s fair to say the staff do try although some of the most recent batch seem a bit naive and lacking experience. The Deputy Gen Manager, John sorted us out well though and deserves kudos for knowing exactly how to handle his restaurant and customers.

The food and service was amazing. Eddie was our waiter and he was a true gentleman. 10/10 would go again. He gave my boyfriend a complimentary cheesecake for his birthday.
Be the first to ReplyStill excellent steaks, but so-so service and prices have jumped since last visit
Enjoyed excellent steaks on the lunch menu, though this is no longer the bargain it was pre-Covid. And, service was so-so, seemingly because there is no one member of staff clearly responsible for service at your table.

Great steaks, friendly staff, varied cuts of meat to choose from and a great wine list. Honestly couldn't ask for more and would 100% visit again when back in London!

It’s been a few years since we’ve been to London and its a family tradition to eat at Goodman Mayfair each time we go. This time was no different and we had an amazing time. Steaks were the best, cooked perfectly and served by amazing staff. See you again next time , hopefully sooner than later

After having visited the restaurant for the first time a few months ago, having a good impression. Myself and my brother in law decided to pay Goodman’s Mayfair another visit. The starter this time was the half lobster which was cooked well and brought with garlic butter to dip or pour on. The biggest difference this time was ordering a steak from the specials board, US prime ribeye as it was listed. Not only a fair price for a fairly large steak each, it was quite possibly the best steak I’ve had to date. This ribeye had far less fat to it, almost like a Fillet at times. Also highly recommend the truffle fries as an accompaniment. Whilst it certainly made for a very rich tasting main course it was well worth the trip. Will absolutely be back for more in the future. Beyond the food, the staff have both times been attentive and friendly, describing the cuts of meat in great detail should you need help deciding. The ambience is quite low key and relaxing which is always nice and fits the somewhat New York classic aesthetic.

Tasty Scottish steak. The 750g on the bone is good for one hungry person or reg guy that eats steak (for those who don’t usually order by weight). The sides are a highlight: truffle Mac n cheese, truffle fries/chips, the gem salad was especially good. Very accommodating, for example we asked for just a side of tomatoes on the side. Oyster appetizer was delicious & fresh.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful steak dinner in London!
Living in the Midwest in the US, we know our beef. Scottish grass fed filet mignon was on the menu when we were here and it was wonderful. A cross between a traditional steak house and a London pub, the atmosphere was perfect and the staff was great. Along with a good wine menu, this place is worth a visit.

I have never had a more positive and attentive dining experience than I have at Goodman in Mayfair. Everyone from the General Manager to the back of house staff were eager to make sure our visit exceeded our expectations! If you demand great service and a culinary experience, Goodman Mayfair delivers both in abundance

My partner and I went to the Bank Goodman’s 7 years or so ago and had the best meal ever. Ever since my dad has wanted to go so we took him for his 60th to the Mayfair branch, and it didn’t disappoint!!! Our waiter Eddy was AMAZING and really took the experience to the next level. He was very knowledgeable going through the different steaks, and was very attentive throughout the whole meal. All the food was amazing. We had tempura prawns which were the largest prawns I’ve ever seen, a variety of steaks (which were the best the whole table has ever had- and we love our steaks), creamed spinach, truffle chips, and mac and cheese. I didn’t arrange a cake for my dads birthday, but we mentioned to Eddy the reason we were out and he arrange my dads desert to come out with ‘happy birthday’ written on the plate in chocolate and a candle. Was so lovely of him and such a lovely special touch. Although the prices are a little high, it is honestly well worth the money!! Best meal ever and best waiter ever!! Thank you Eddy and the team for making my dads birthday such a memorable one!
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyable Saturday Lunch
Three of us had a most enjoyable lunch. We all chose the basic fillet steak. It was OK but perhaps should have been better given the place is all about steak. It should have been a touch rarer/juicier in the middle and much more brown and caramelised on the outside. The side dishes were all scrumptious but rather down-to-earth. The lobster macaroni tasted of lobster but I don't recall seeing any lobster in it. The wine was enjoyable. The whole thing came out as £260 per couple inclusive of tip. That's quite steep but you'll probably pay that at Hawksmoor for example. Full marks to Luis who was helpful, efficient but also good company.
Be the first to ReplyBest steak ever. Best customer sevice
Decided to go here spontaneously and the food here is excellent. Best steak I ever had. And just to top it off we were served by the lovely stefania who was absolutely wonderful and kind. She presented us the food in the best way possible and gave us the best customer service we have ever experienced. Goodmans is lucky to have such an employee working for them and she truly deserves recognition 👏 :) I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those looking for the best quality steak.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding food, service and a great atmosphere.
Great night with friends, we walked in to buzzing atmosphere and we were welcomed to our table straight away. We were shown and offered a variety of cuts and specials by our server who was friendly and attentive. Steak was one of the best we have tasted, so tender and tasty, outstanding. One of our party had a problem with a steak undercooked, which was resolved after a couple of tries, but they went over and above offering the steak complimentary and a free round of drinks. We were not expecting that at all, but the manager was very sincere on her apology and nothing was too much. I am more than happy to recommend this place for outstanding food, great service and over and above problem solving. We’ve been to their restaurant in the city and equally enjoyed it which is why we visited this one, and we would certainly visit again! Thanks for a lovely evening.

Ordered the steak from the lunch menu. It tasted amazing and the price wasn't too bad for what you get.
Staff were also super friendly. I highly recommended! :)
Also got a nice little surprise as it was my birthday :)
Lunch & Chill
Just have to keep coming back to this place. I had suggested to a colleague to use for a Friday business lunch and then last minute decided to join them. The place was vibrant and busy but with no fuss they accommodated the extra person.
The service here is fantastic so much energy and friendly staff just create the all round experience.
It was clear that we was not in a rush and as such the staff quickly got in sync with that vibe which provides the great feeling of it being rushed
Wonderful food as usual, a must try is the tempura prawns they are fantastic.
Whether out for business or with a group of friends this is the place to go for a relaxing lunch with great steak.
Meat eater heaven
If you want a steak this is the place. I went for the rib eye with side dishes of chips, salad and spinach. All cooked to perfection and served with a smile. The steak knives deserve a mention - they are massive, think Bowie knifes little brother

The food was fantastic. Amazing steak, both in choice and quality, and the desert was unexpectedly delicious (as I’m usually let down by deserts).
Even better was the ambience. I’ve been to this chain’s location in Canary Wharf, which also serves excellent food, but the venue and ambience is incomparable.
Lastly, this restaurant’s best feature is its service. The staff are excellent, all very knowledgeable and attentive, wanting to give you the best experience possible. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a restaurant as warm, friendly and professional as this one.
Outstanding experience!
Thanks Goodman, made my Dad’s birthday special! - Roy
Best Steak restuarant in London
Great food, the steak was cooked and served perfectly. Also our waiter was extremely attentive and made sure that our experience was as good as it possibly could be.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best restaurants in London lives up to its reputation!
Goodman's- we know the steak is going to be great. I still love the theatre of it all- having the meat brought to the table and explained and then the big board with all the meats written on it.
I had the bone in sirloin- very tasty. I really wanted to pick the bone up and devour the meat stuck to the bone....but it's not that type of establishment.
The burrata and tomatoes for starters was exceptional. One of the best starter dishes I've had in London!
The honeycomb parfait was so excellent that I wish I could serve it at my future wedding. It was sumptuous. Not sure about the banana sorbet with it, I think it would prefer a clotted cream ice cream but nonetheless it was delicious.
With wine and cocktails it was nearly £200 each but it was worth it!
