Gymkhana London Reviews
Have no idea whether the food was good or not.
My wife got Covid the day before and we were not going to go to the restaurant with her in that condition. Gymkhana, totally unsympathetic, still chose to charge the $50 per person cancellation fee as it was not outside the 72 hour window. Not good b
Food great. Service ok. Do you want lamb chops?
Gymkhana delivers excellent food with bold, refined flavours, but the service felt oddly rushed. Staff were attentive, yet it became almost comical how often we were urged to order the lamb chops – even the doorman mentioned them. They’re clearly
High expectations which almost delivered
So the food is great, it’s really is. Delicious and everything you would want it to be. We were going for the tasting menu but advised it is a lot of food so opted for Al la carte which is the right call. So the service is what let it down for us.
Brilliant
From the moment we were greeted by the smiley Joanna, to when we left and all the serving team said goodbye, I can’t really fault this place. We had the lunch set menu, which we thought at this type of restaurant was good value. The menu was grea
Gymkhana was one of my favorite meals of our London trip!
Gymkhana was one of my favorite meals of our London trip! We did the a la carte menu and everything we tried was amazing. The Butter Chicken was hands-down my favorite--so rich and flavorful. The Amritsari Lobster, Shrimp and Queenies were incredible
Good place some great food but not everything on the menu is up to the super star rating. I’ve had better Indian food.
The environment, ambiance, service and sommelier were super. The food was up and down. Starters were lovely, real depth of flavour and the masala margarita a fantastic cocktail offered. However, the mains were just middle of the road nothing outst
Best Indian food I've ever had!! Laidback and nice ambiance.
Service was also excellent.
Reservation was worth the wait.
Food was delightful. So many favorites but if I had to choose, it would be the butter chicken, paneer and the lamb - mouth watering! We had the private room and while beautiful and intimate, I would have preferred the energy of the main dining room.
Adore the khana but now I need to hit the gym!
Indian food (khana) doesn't get much better than this. Of course even before you enter the hallowed doors of this two-star Michelin restaurant there is a MASSIVE hurdle to jump - which is getting a booking. You may have to book two months in adv
Underwhelmed- doesn’t deserve 2* Michelin)
We ordered a variety of dishes, including: Chicken Samosas – Absolutely delicious, the best I’ve had. Prawns – Tender and tasty, though slightly too spicy for my liking. Aloo Chaat – Not for me, found the taste very unusual. Panipuri –
Not worthy of Michelin status. Taster menu a disaster
We booked a table at gymkhana to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had been looking forward to it for months. However we were left very disappointed. We each ordered off the taster menu. I opted for the veggie option and my husband the normal on
Christmas Gift
This food is just exceptional. The blend of spice is exquisite. There really is too many positives to start listing them. If you like Indian cuisine then this is the place to go. The service is exceptional and the staff are wonderful. My son and part
Underwhelming and memorable for the wrong reasons
We were expecting a real wow experience but sadly it was very disappointing. It was quite dark which made it difficult to read menus and see food well. The lamb chop which was supposed to be amazing was soo disappointing. It was over cooked and dry
Poor Service, Allergens and Integrity.
I booked the private dinning room (42 Albemarle) for my wife's birthday and a family celebration (15 people) on 28 August. I agreed a menu and time table for service, spelt out allergies (cashews and pistachios - my daughter carries an epi pen
The undisputed best Indian in the city. Great staff, delicious meal.
Third visit in 16 months. It’s that good. The rating system is not fit for purpose where this restaurant is concerned. It gets a legit 6 every time! Staff were central to the whole experience, the breathtaking interior provides the perfect environm
High quality Indian food
As 1 of the very few Indian restaurants in the world to hold 2 Michelin stars, we were really excited yo come here. The food was great, especially the oak chops, although they were slightly too salty. The muntjac biriyani was a little disappointing.
Still the best curry in London
If you want to make someone jealous, then say these three words: “I’m visiting Gymkhana”. Whenever I told people I had a reservation at the restaurant, I got exactly the same response: “Take me”. In London, Gymkhana is situated in the soph
You’ll think you know Indian food, and then you’ll try Gymkhana
Gymkhana, a sleek Indian spot in Mayfair, is the kind of place that will surprise you with every single dish. In London, it’s an institution. There’s no way you’ll be able to pick a favourite until you’ve tried absolutely everything here. Thi
Worth every penny
By far the absolute best Indian restaurant in London trumping the over hyped others. Fantastic menu, friendly staff and pristine flavours coupled with great, attentive service. This has not changed in years. From the moment we walked in, Gymkhana de

Amazing atmosphere, staff , and food .
... Every dish was truly outstanding and prepared and served in a way that justifies the 2 Michelin Stars this restaurant has.... I highly recommend it
One of the best Indian meals I've ever had.
It was hard to get a reservation because we were in London for only a short period of time, but it was well worth it. The service was flawless, everyone was really nice and our waiter provided us with a lot of good suggestions, like the Ghee Old Fash
The service was great.
However I wouldn't consider this as a Michelin star place. The food was a 3.5/5. The drinks were decent.
Poor experience
We were so looking to a Michelin 2 star experience We experienced the opposite We were seated in the basement in the traffic lane We ordered and the meal started to come There was no Michelin presentation The main course arrived cold and was redone
The best restaurant experience with out of this world food
Ignore all of the negative or mixed reviews, Gymkhana is 100% worth visiting! The food is unlike that of other Indian restaurants. The quality is superb, especially the Chicken Tikka. Everything we ate was brilliant but that in particular was an unex

Superb North Indian cuisine and faultless service
This was our first visit to Gymkhana, which received a second Michelin star earlier this year, the only Indian restaurant with two stars. That also meant that this was our first visit to a two-star Michelin restaurant. We were shown to our snug table
Service and penny pinching
We booked the cocktail lounge “42” from 1700-1830 and the main restaurant from 18:00 onwards. We arrived bang on time. The ambience of the cocktail lounge was amazing, as were the Indian influenced cocktails. However we were initially being pre
Would give Gymkhana six stars if I could.

We had drinks at 42 the Gymhkana cocktail lounge.
Good drinks and nice ambiance. But absolutely no food available. Not even a chip. This should be clear on the website.
Fine Indian Dining
An exceptional Imdian-food experience. Service could evolve a touch to keep up with quality of food but otherwise spot on.

Such a miserable experience! After making a res 4 weeks in advance they would not let our 15 1/2 yo in the restaurant and turned us away (in the very fine print). Such arrogance and pretension. If you place any value on family, I would pass and spen
Flavorful and Delightful
Just a delightful restaurant. The cuisine is excellent. The waitstaff were perfectly attentive without being pushy. The only thing I would caution if doing the tasting menu is that it is a lot of food! I had eaten almost nothing that entire day but s

Had heard so much about this place that I decided to venture solo without a booking this rainy wet Tuesday morning. The hostess was absolutely fantastic and welcoming and gave me a table on the condition that I return it in 90 minutes - not a problem
Very pleasant but better than less expensive competitors?
The service was good generally and especially good from the head waiter. The food was very good but not staggeringly ‘oh my goodness’ good. Dishoom is a very close competitor I think. Not sure how it gets a Michelin never mind 2 and £175 is plen

Amazing food and great service.
We tried the tiger prawns, the butter chicken, the saag veggie, the rack of lamb, and course a side of garlic naan. Amazing cocktails and then head upstairs to 42 for a night cap.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Gymkhana London at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Gymkhana London page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $5.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $5.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $5 bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Gymkhana London to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $5 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Gymkhana London!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
