Nothing was amazing, and honestly could have used some more flavor. The kalbi kkochi was really in need of a sauce or something, and the rest of the dishes were not bad but not standout. For the price, I think this wasn't that worth it. The best dish of the night was the sesame creme brulee - strong sesame flavor and delicious custard

Everything was cooked pretty well I think? Unfortunately I can't think of any memorable dishes and whether or not I particularly enjoyed it or not. I do remember not liking the cocktails though. Given all the different restaurants to try in NY, I would probably not go again. The ambiance was also really dark and felt very cramped.

Had a dinner here with my girlfriends and we had a wonderful time. This is a lovely Korean spot in Park Slope. We had made reservation, which I def recommendd because this place got packed! We were in the area a bit early so we hung out by the bar for some drinks until our table was ready. We each had the school girl cocktail which was good, tasted mostly of prosecco with a hint of lychee flavor, just kind of wished the lychee had a stronger flavor. The staff was so accomodating and nice. Loved the vibe and ambiance inside the restaurant. It was dimlit, very cozy and romantic. We started with some small plates to share. The watercress salad, was amazing. I'm actually not a fan of watercress, but the dressing was so good I couldn't stop eating the salad. I need the recipe for the dressing cuz wow it's so good. The scallion pancake and the Dukboki fundido were all delicous as well. For entrees, I ordered Kalbi jji, the meat was tender and it was very flavorful. My friends ordered the Bulgogi and the Maine uni bibimbop. I will say the entrees are not so big but between our entrees and appetizers we were stuffed. We all very much enjoyed our meals. The only thing to note is that it is a little bit on the pricer end, but it's totally worth for a nice dinner out. The food was amazing, and would definitely come back to try their other dishes.

TL;DR: Haenyeo is one of the best Korean restaurants in NYC Went a couple of weeks ago with friends and had an amazing time. Vibes, food, ambiance: all immaculate. Featuring arguably the best galbi-jjim in NYC with cocktails rivaling the esteemed branches from Angel's Share (e.g, Double Chicken, Sip and Guzzle); to top it all off, the story of this restaurant--the pioneering mother-daughter duo who fought against all odds to make it as Korean proprietors back when Korean restaurants were reviewed as alien, the incredibly warm and hospitable maitre'd/husband, Terrence, with his screenwriting roots (the delightful easter eggs like the pseudo-movie posters in the basement attest to this first love--makes it impossible not to fall in love with this place.

Elevated Americanized Korean food- definitely on the pricier side so bookmark this place for a nice date night or a special occasion. We made our reservation via Resy- good thing we did, because this place fills up fast. We were seated at an outdoor table (don't worry, you will be super toasty- the heat lamps are very effective) and scanned the QR code for the menu. For drinks, my husband ordered the The Squid and the Whale (a tasty sesame oil flavored savory cocktail- we felt it would go well with some rice...!) and I got the School Girl Cocktail (aka alcoholic lychee/grape juice - yum!) The other cocktails sounded interesting too (some using rhubarb bitters, jalapeño infused tequila..! Nice!) For our apps, we ordered the oysters (served with brioche toast and topped with seaweed butter) and the Dukboki fundido (a happy marriage of Mexican+Korean cuisine, spicy rice cakes in the red pepper sauce with a blanket of Oaxaca cheese and chorizo). The oysters you can skip- it's 4 small oysters and was very much what you'd expect. The dukboki is a must- the cheese and chorizo went so well with the spicy sauce, we made sure to scrap the bowl clean. For our entrees, we shared the Spanish mackerel (grilled with a nice crispy skin, served with toasted seaweed and alfalfa sprouts/gochujang sauce) and the spicy squid bibimbap. The mackerel was super simple but just SO good, the quality of the fish was fantastic. Wrap that baby up in seaweed with some sauce/sprouts and rice (it comes with a bowl of rice). The spicy squid bibimbap was so tasty as well (and a treat for the eyes!) We made sure we had room in our stomachs for dessert- sesame creme brûlée and cinnamon sugar beignets! Really nice way to end the meal. Service was friendly and attentive (our server was great!)
Great service food as always was amazing.
My always favorite , Dukboki fundido and crispy chicken. unfortunately the dukboki is not a main entree anymore only a small plate appetizer
Really liked this spot when it first opened.
Really disappointed years later. We sat at 8:15 to find they were out of all the fish entrees and the only light beer on the menu because they "were really crowded earlier". It was everything we wanted to order so we left. When we told them why we were leaving three employees all just nodded their heads and said, "yeah". Rough for a self-proclaimed high end seafood restaurant. Not what it used to be I guess.

I heard really great things about Haenyeo so ultimately I was expecting a little more. The ambiance is super cozy inside and lit by candles so it's dark and intimate. We had a reservation at 615 and shared the japchae and the watercress salad as appetizers. I liked both of these dishes but I was disappointed by the entrees. My husband and I got the tofu bibimbop and tofu chigae and unfortunately both dishes were really bland. Thankfully they bought out a little plate of kimchi and two other plates of banchan. The kimchi saved the bibimbop by adding some flavor. I expected the chigae to be spicy because it explicitly says so but it was actually sour and not at all spicy, no kick no heat. You're paying for a more upscale dining and I'm not sure it was worth it.
Didn't get a chance to try the food.
Service was terrible to even sit. Manager was aggressive

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
