It's in the Experience
This was recommended to me by a Chinese colleague. They told me about the hot pot dining experience and I was intrigued, never having really heard of it before. As it opened really late and we needed something for after a show at the Royal Albert Hall, we opted to book a table here. Our booking was at 23:45 but it seemed to stay open until 3am. We were treated very kindly by the staff. They greeted us and looked after us at our table. We felt very welcomed, which was nice given we felt like we were possibly the only non asians in the restaurant and that was initially a bit daunting. Nevertheless, we embraced it and enjoyed it. We ordered 3 different broths and a mix of meat and veg. The server initially showed us how to create a small soup using the tomato broth and some of the bits from the toppings station, which was very lovely. Largely, though, the broths are a cooking mechanism (just in case anyone not in the know was wondering!). We had fun creating our own dips but we'd probably want to be more adventurous next time. Also, we'd likely try ordering different things to cook on our next visit. Using the utensils was a little tricky but we got the hang of it. We certainly weren't by any means experts at the hot pot but we enjoyed ourselves. It's more about the joy of dining rather than anything else. We did think it was a tad bit expensive for what it was, especially as you did have to cook it yourself, but for a one-off treat type meal, it was fine. We paid around £40 pp. We'd come back but maybe for a special occasion. We'd recommend everyone to try this restaurant. It's worth giving it a go and don't be worried that you won't know what to do because the staff are extremely helpful.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, quality food, order noodles for the show!
Make sure you get a booking as it gets very busy here. After seeing so many videos raving about Haidilao, I knew I wanted to try out some hot pot so we went for lunch and it was DELICIOUS! We had two soup bases, laksa (spicy) and chicken & mushroom (milder). We then went and made our dipping sauces at the condiment and snack bar. We had the marinated beef, chicken and pak choi but would definitely be more adventurous next time as I’d love to try the shrimp paste too. The hand pulled noodles were chewy and tasty especially after watching them being made right next to us. Great show. The service and attention to detail was outstanding, everything was fresh and good quality. Definitely returning soon.
Be the first to ReplyGood Food but a little bit expensive
Food is good and the service is excellent. Just a little bit over priced. Generally speaking, I will come with friends/family visit again but not very often,

Be the first to ReplyAmazing food
Haidilao is the best hot pot restaurant in London, they have taken the service levels of their China operation and put them into this branch. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyVery Chinese
Just like the Hotpots in China but a lot more expensive. Good range of food and drink with good service. we were even offered an umbrella for the wonderful London weather.
Be the first to ReplyWorth the wait.
We waited over 2 hours before our table was ready but we were a bigger group. Wandered around a bit then sat in playing board games. There’s snacks and water whilst you wait. Once in and seated you’re given an iPad to order. We went from milk to spicy on sauces (oat is good for mildest) we were advised to avoid the spiciest. There’s a dipping sauce mixing station. Instructions to follow fit classic options or make your own. (Orange slices, nachos and apple slices available too) We ordered a selection of meat, fish, mushrooms and veg. Plus tofu and roe dumplings. Everything was outstanding and fresh (black mushrooms are the best) laksa sauce was my favourite with the dumplings. The beef and pork are top quality. Staff helped make the fish balls. Honestly one of the best meals we’ve had. You’d walk past and not realise how great it is from store front as the main resturant is downstairs. Oh, and heated toilet seats. I need these in my life more.

Fantastic from start to finish. Staff are all super helpful and friendly and the food was amazing. The layout is well thought out, spacious and not crammed. Will definitely go back
Be the first to ReplyThe broth was too hot - next time let your client know about level of hotness of food
The experience was not great as the waitress never assessed or informed about the level of the hot of the broth. He should have explained the one we ordered is extreme hot ! So we have not enjoyed it as every ingredient ordered to this broth was ruined!
Be the first to ReplyVery happy experience
The staff are so attentive & helpful , what a nice team, the food are fresh & good portion , we are lucky only wait for 10 min to get our table ( we are there at 5 pm ) we have two soup base Tom yum & Tomatoes soup , with two meats & some Vegs
Be the first to ReplyUnprofessional rude staff, forget to inform when the table is ready 4 hour wait
We waited 4 hours for the table, came at 4.30pm to get the number and was given 133 . happily waiting as have been before and know the queue can be long, we went away and was waiting for the text to return. 4 hours later we came back to check where is the number on the queue now and was advised 118 so we decided to sit in the restaurant and wait. It was 7pm 1hr30 minutes later was still no text so we came And ask the host what’s the number now. She said to us it’s 139 at that time. We was angry and showed her the text it was 133 but we haven’t got any call or text we have been sitting and waiting . She apologised and said the next table will be hours. If I hadn’t asked we would still be waiting and they would have forgotten to text us.
Be the first to ReplyA fun experience with high quality delicious food
For a bit of context: this was our second experience of a hot pot restaurant, the other being a much smaller and simpler place elsewhere in the UK, meaning we had a basic idea of what to expect. We arrived as ‘almost beginners’. I think we were lucky with our timing, late afternoon on a Monday. We were politely welcomed, advised we were third in the queue for a table, invited to take a seat and served lemon water. The dining experience itself was fun. We had a booth in a the large underground restaurant which is very smartly set up. (The whole place is immaculately clean, including the toilets.) We were looked after very well by the team, with broths topped up regularly, and a little guidance on what to order and how to make the most of the condiments. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, super-fresh veggies and delicious meat and fish, with really tasty broths. The magic is in experimenting with the condiments to create dips and enrich the broths. Why not five stars? As a clearly inexperience hot pot diner, I would have liked a bit more help in deciding what to order, how to put together our food to best effect, and how to cook and serve the ingredients. And it is quite pricey, although there is a lot of value in the novelty and interactiveness of the experience.
Be the first to ReplyEven better than I imagined
Outstanding experience. There are no words on how incredible this dining experience was. For starters the wait time for seating was short and you were supplied with mints, crisps and water. Almost as soon as we were seated a waitress came over to us and supplied us with more water and explained the entire process to us whilst giving us recommendations. The broth was the most amazing flavour and easy to work with. The sauce station was full of anything you could imagine with endless supply to fruit veggies and bread. The food was amazing and the swinging noodles were delicious and fun to watch. The hygiene was impeccable and people were wining bye and making sure our table was rid of dirty tissues every minute. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with pads, mouthwash, makeup wipes and toothpicks. All in all this was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyDo not eat here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The experience is super bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I can give zero that's the rating. 8:50 pm - We got in the queue. Our number was 201. We were told the table might be ready at 10:30pm. So we waited. 9:30 - the customer waiting beside us followed up and I heard that they are 164 and their table will be ready soon. 10pm - we asked what number is being served and were told its 187. 10:45 - we asked again they said 185. Then I told her she said 187 earlier. Then she showed me its 185. I told her we've been waiting for 2 hours and she said she can't do anything. So we just left as our energy ran out. They shouldn't have accepted customers if they think they can't handle nor estimate. They should have cut-offed at some point. Like if the waiting is already around 50 they should have closed their queue. We waited thinking it'll be quick since its sunday and already late night so we thought people would leave ealry.
Be the first to ReplyOver rated, over priced and over rushed.
Extremely disappointed.
I’d been looking forward to trying HaiDiLao for a few weeks as made plans to go with a friend. We weren’t able to pre-book so had to wait an hour and a half for a table on the day.
As soon as the food came out it was clear that they wanted us to eat up and get out as soon as possible.
I’d been really looking forward to getting to cook the food myself and try different combinations, but no such chance.
The server insisted on shoving everything in the soup bases for us quite speedily and also piling the food on our plates which also meant I didn’t have much choice in what i was eating and when.
I can’t really even comment on the food because I felt so overwhelmed and rushed in the end I lost my appetite a bit. So £50 for a few mouthfuls of food and then out the door. Such a poor experience and will definitely not be going back again.
Such a tiring experience
I go there almost once a month; I'm getting more and more disappointed with Haidilao lately, the soup base is getting more and more saltier; the service is too much, only my mom and I and we didn’t order that much food, but 4-5 waiters have been taking turns to serve us, we can't eat with peace of mind at all, I just felt tired and in rush, the waiters kept coming and giving me a headache. I didn't enjoy this kind of service, it was more like being peeped.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t believe the hype
We were a little surprised by the nail bar in the entrance but we looked past it thanks to the good reviews we had seen. We ordered our food and 2 soups which started to arrive quickly. The soups themselves were very pleasant, the laksa was delicious. However, that’s where it ended. The beef was chewy, sinewy and had a bizarre almost fishy taste, the meatballs had a very unpleasant texture and the dough balls were tasteless. The staff are hovering constantly and it’s honestly a little overbearing. There was also a 12.5% service charge added to the bill. The toilets were the highlight with heated seats and considerate freebies. Also worth mentioning that this place is spotlessly clean.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Experience and food.
I am glad I went here for my birthday. The service was amazing and attentive. I have been to other hotpots and this one is now my favourite place. I will returning back with some friends soon.

Gluten and dairy in all the broths, Not enjoyable with clear tasteless hot water.
I first tried hotpot in Jakarta once and it was amazing so i thought to try it again and it was the first time for my bf.
You enter directly in the waiting room, and we waited around 30 minutes for a table.
Thinking it would be worth it as it was full of asians and obviously crowded.
We were not lucky with the server as he wasnt confident enough with english to recommend nor guide us.
All the soup broths had gluten in it so we went with the clear water, which ofcorse made the whole meal tasteless. Even if i put alot of the sauce they had in it (which probably had gluten in it as well, but it didnt say.) We had the beef ribs and waguy, and the vegetables was huge so you had to really break them apart into small pieces. The meat was really not so good, and the meatballs had cheese in it... Which was not listed in the ingredient list.
(Not your typical pho meatballs)
It was a too big hasle for my boyfriend unfortunately, so we finished at shake shack to satisfy the tummy.
I am a soup enthusiast and this was not for me.
Probably with a flavored soup it will be better, but it was too much work and a big mess.
But the service was good and their bathroom had a heated toilet seat and you can even brush your teeth and wash with mouth wash which we found thoughtful.
Amazing Hotpot
We had a great time at Haidilao, even though there was a small wait (around 15 mins), we could sit at a table with card games and monopoly available. The hotpot itself was amazing, with a lot of varieties in bases and meats. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. In particular, Chef Ling was helpful and brought some sauces that really complimented the food. The noodle show is interesting as well! I would definitely recommend trying this place out.
Be the first to Replyvery good
