Excellent all around!
Food and service were equally impressive! Our server was wonderfully knowledgeable when answering our questions about wines on their wine list, and was appropriately accessible throughout the meal. A+ on the service! Both the appetizer and entree were exceptional and well timed for our casual dining pace. A++ to the kitchen! The intimate dining room was very comfortable. A+ atmosphere! Even with all the fine dining choices available in Brooklyn, Harts has earned a return visit next time we are in the city!

We visited for New Year’s Eve and although we couldn’t fault the food the service was very rushed - it got to the point where there wasn’t enough room on the table to put down the next course! I understand they would want to get another sitting in before midnight but when we’re paying $75 each for our meal I feel like we weren’t treated to the service we deserved. It kind of ruined our night to be honest and that’s not what you want for New Year’s Eve!

Went there in a friend's recommendation. I had the lamb burger and it was outstanding. Limited menu, but very good food. Small place, cozy and very friendly staff. I will go there again when I have a chan e.

Visited Harts restaurant having made a reservation the previous day. The meal was very good and the lamb burger with anchovies was an amazing taste - very inspiring - who would have thought that it would make a tasty meal. The meal took quite a long time to arrive and my wife had her salad dish served to her well before mine arrived. I did query that why we could have had the meal served together and the waitress said i should have asked ! Odd. The tables were very small and the room was very dark. Difficult to read the menu and in fact had to use my mobile phone torch app to make a selection. I am not adverse to having back ground music at restaurants but it was so loud it made having a conservation a bit difficult. Also i thought very expensive for what we had. Nevertheless we are in a major city so i expect you will have to pay more. It is unlikely that we would return for another meal but in fairness the meals were very tasty.

Loved food and vibe. Super laid back small. Sort of perfect hipster eatery. Lamb burger was delicious. Best thing was laid back atmosphere. It is hard to present quality food and not take yourself too seriously. Hart’s succeeds. Will be back.

We had a very nice familydinner. We didn’t have a reservation but we were given a table in 45 minutes, in the mean time we had a drink while waiting.
The food was very nice, fresh and had lovely taste. Even our teenaged kids who love fastfood and aren’t very open-minded to try new things loved it!
Only remark we can make is the volume of the music, it was a little loud.
Brunch was great
Party of six and yet it was nice, our waiter was terrific and the food was amazing. We enjoyed nice cocktails, the frittata, fried chicken, egg sandwich, poached eggs and an olive oil cake to boot.

Went with my son and wife to a nice spot near his home. Good appetizers. And the lamb burger with anchovies was great. A small area with a tiny kitchen but it works. Very friendly staff. Snd nice wine selection.

Hart's, a minuscule Bed Sty restaurant, located under the Framklin elevated subway stop, gets an amazing amount of positive press. The editors of Bon Apetite named it one of the five best new restaurants in the United States! As a result, I booked Hart's for a brunch gathering of six of us.
Taking the subway from the West Village was a breeze, even though this was my first time on the subway since 1975. Hey, what happened to tokens? The woman in the booth thought I was nuts when I asked for one. Bedford Stuyvesant was more dangerous than Northwest Syria when I lived in NYC, and the gentrification of the neighborhood was astonishing.
We were greeted with friendly hellos and good natured kibitzing when we entered, escaping the bitter cold. Again, I was perplexed because we were several decades older than anyone else in the place. Doesn't anyone over 60 years old go out? What's wrong with you? Get off the damn couch and live life!
Our long table for six consumed the tiny room. Friends arrived. We hugged, kissed, (Unlike SLC, people in many places are actually demonstrative) and settled in to talk about anything and everything. The menu was tight, concise, with some very interesting concoctions. The same goes for the wine menu. Everything was good, bordering on excellent. My "sardines and eggs" dish was surprisingly delicious. Bread was tasty and the olive oil cake a hit. What disappointed our group was the "laid back" service. Every server was utterly helpful and charming, but we constantly had to ask for refills of coffee and they forget several orders. I mean, will Hart's survive if they have to comp several orders because the servers forgot to bring them? For our group of six, this happened three times. Okay, I have found this kind of service in almost every Brooklyn restaurant I have tried, including Michelin starred joints. Is it in the water? I just hope it's not a vestige of that "hipster" nonchalant attitude towards everything. Look where that got this country? Check out who's running it.
Hart's was a bit disappointing, and I doubt any of us will schlep to Bed Sty for a return visit. However, Hart's is a great addition to the neighborhood.
If you're looking for Arthur Avenue, forget it!
Heading back home after a business trip, debated whether to schlep to the Bronx and deal with x-town traffic, or wait it out before heading up 95, found this place by accident and decided to stop and grab a bite to wait for the traffic to abate. Tried the lamb burger, starting with the foccacia appetizer. The appetizer was so so, as I was not pleased with the taste and consistency of the ricotta, and the lamb burger could have been prepared better. The one positive note was that the traffic was lighter by the time I left to head back north, and the rest of the way was a breeze. Next time in the metro NY area, I will make Arthur Avenue my main outside NYC destination for a bite and recharge - Brooklyn is not my cup of tea, or anything else for that matter.
