Hathorne Nashville Reviews from The Last Year
A Great Find in Nashville
Outstanding find about 5 miles from downtown Nashville. Free parking across the street. Named after the owner’s grandmother and located in the fellowship hall of the adjacent church. The seats were reused pew seats. Staff were great and the owner very welcoming. I had the fish and my wife had the chicken- small menu. We ordered the bread (extra) and it was worth it. Daily baked focaccia with a butter/buttermilk spread. Good reasonable wine list. Hard not to like this restaurant.
Delicious Meal
I had the pleasure of dining at Hathorne for dinner. It is a hidden gem between two other establishments. It could be overlooked and it shouldn't be. It has a lovely outdoor seating area for dining alfresco. Inside is spacious with seating that is not too tightly packed. The ceilings are very high. With the expanse of the dining area, it is quiet. There is not an abundance of white noise. This is a great place for friend and family dining as you can talk and hear one another without feeling over stimulated with noise. The food is excellent. The menu is abundant in vegetable forward meals. I had two small plates and one large plate. The Tortellini was soft, packed well and presented nicely. It was three large pastas. When they were finished, I was looking for more. The crispy sweet potato small plate was just that crispy. It was also creamy on the interior. The flavor was enhanced with the salad and sauce served with it. The Schnitzel (large plate) was extremely crunchy. The pureed sweet potatoes and lime crema mixed with the chicken well. Large abundant amounts of food on all three dishes. The employees were kind and efficient. This is a restaurant that I will return to have a meal when in Nashville. I recommend Hathorne highly and will encourage friends visiting Nashville, to plan a visit here.
I've been to Hathorne several times before for dinner, but
I've been to Hathorne several times before for dinner, but this was my first time for brunch, and it lived up to its dinner standards! The service was prompt, attentive, and helpful - especially the waiter's knowledge on gluten-free options. I started brunch with a delicious, gin-based cocktail that was absolutely stunning to look at. Then, I had a French Omelette (with added cheese of course) and Frites on the side. As you can see in the photo, the frites are not typical - more like circular potato wedges, but they were both crispy and creamy inside and the aioli really made them pop. I only wish the side salad had a little dressing on it! The vibes in Hathorne are always immaculate - love the refurbished pews as seats and the bar is beautifully arranged. Can't wait to come back!

Crazy good!!! From the moment we first walked in it was awesome. Went Sunday after church and we were starving. The host and server is a family member of the owner. What pride and hospitality!! Wife had the cheese grits and pork belly. She said it was sublime. Crust on the cheese grits....yum!!! I had the breakfast sandwich on brioche bun with bacon. Bacon was baked and unreal, brioche bun was soft and tasty, eggs with havarti were simply amazing love this place and service. Dinner menu looks eclectic and wonderful!! Can not say enough about out service and quality of the food. We will be back and bring friends.

It's a lovely place we were introduced to by an old family friend. You need to make reservations but it's worth it. The ambience is pleasing to the eye and has a French country feel. The staff are lovely and all engaged to make sure their customers are comfortable and have a good experience. Now for the food...they change with seasons and are creations of the chefs. We were there the first week of November 2023. The menu was inspired by dishes that are familiar to us but with a twist of flavors from different cultures around the world.....Japanese, French, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Polish, and Iranian were just the ones we experienced. The portions were generous, and the presentation were well displayed but not pretentious. The condiments that went along with the small plates were equally thought out that complemented all their respective dishes. It's all in the details and it showed. Of note, I don't care for aioli. I find aioli preparations to be poorly made, but the turmeric herb salt aioli was addictive with the frites. I won't talk about the dishes as it would be an experience I do not wish to take away from yours or have expectations that may be perceived differently. Try it out, but remember the menu changes and if there may have been a miss for you this time or earlier, go again, it worth it!!!

Hathorne was such a fresh and flavorful menu! They had vegan options too! The vibe is so fun being built in an old church. The mashed sweet potatoes with the chicken schnitzel were some of the best I have ever had!
Tasty appetizers and desserts and lovely staff who made
Tasty appetizers and desserts and lovely staff who made sure we had a great night! The Agnolotti was easily my favorite bite of the night - really well made pasta with a light but flavorful cream sauce that allowed the butternut squash to shine through. The Focaccia and fall salad were also yummy. I had the steak for dinner, which was good but nothing special, especially compared to the other courses we had. It did have an interesting miso sauce though, which was a cool flavor and helped elevate the dish. The beignets were light and fluffy and the chocolate torte was to die for. We will definitely be back and enjoyed our meal here last weekend!
Not worth it.
Very pricey but missed on some of the items. Fococcia with ricotta cheese was the best item we had. The food was picturesque but missed on temperature (cold Wagyu steak), undercooked black eyed peas, oversalted beets, smelly fish. We were just not happy but as a guest of the family, I didn't want to complain. Great building but very loud. For the price and reputation, I expected more. I think burger night would be better.
I live in the neighborhood and have been wanting to try
I live in the neighborhood and have been wanting to try Hathorne for years. I was so excited to see they have brunch now! We went on Saturday and it was amazing. Our waitress was extremely friendly and accommodating, and even comped our biscuits because she felt like they took way too long to arrive. My friends and I were deep in conversation and honestly didn't notice but we were so impressed by their commitment to excellent service. Everything we got was delicious and I'm already planning to go back in a few weeks for brunch!
We had a lovely time here.
We arrived early for our reservation yet got seated immediately anyway. We were casually asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. Upon answering yes, we were brought champagne. Incredible service! The old church that this restaurant is housed in is picturesque. We had the focaccia, summer salad, chicken schnitzel, pork, pomme frites, and two cocktails. All of the dishes were delicious. Plus there were things on the menu that we'd go back and try. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. 10/10.

The best hash I have ever had with the braised pork on the new brunch menu!! The egg sandwich was excellent!!
Nice dinner spot
Really lovely patio setting. Great food and great service really made my friends birthday dinner a nice time. Would recommend to any friend.
Update: we went back now that there's a new chef and WOW.
There is a huge improvement in food flavor. A group of four of us shared the focaccia with ricotta (this was a dream bread!), crudo, golden beets, fish entree and chicken schnitzel. We loved all of the dishes. I'm not a huge fan of beets and still recognized that this was a fantastic dish. The focaccia came out warm and bouncy. The perfect loaf of bread with a ricotta spread that was perfectly fresh and flavorful. The crudo was one of my favorite dishes. It reminded me of the fresh citrusy flavors of a perfect Peruvian ceviche but with a tiny kick. Fantastic. The fish entree was fresh and delicious and the chicken schnitzel with side salad was also a hit. We ordered a dessert of ice cream cake and that was also great. Hazelnut, marshmallow fluff, between layers of regular cake and ice cream. All in all I was impressed at how much the restaurant has improved. We'll be back soon!
Delicious food, beautifully served.
Great service! Beautiful restaurant. Don't miss it!
Our go-to for excellent food and cocktails
Whenever we're home in Nashville (and we travel about 6 months of the year), I find some reason to visit Hathorne, if only to take advantage of the Happy Hour! You can't beat $10 cocktails in this day and age, and they are so tasty and smooth. We always get the crispy goat cheese, as well as several other small plates (to share - or not), and then share a large plate. My husband has a big appetite, but he graciously agrees to share a big plate with me, and I find that it then is just the perfect amount. Every single time we've been here, we're impressed with the friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the very rapid service from both the bar and kitchen. Well done y'all!

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
