If i could give zero stars, i would.
My friends and I came to this restaurant after hearing raving reviews on social media about it. We were excited for the experience especially because we were celebrating a birthday. But we all ended up walking out of there still hungry and cheated of our night. In the beginning, everything was great. They catered to us well; took our order promptly; gave us great drinks and appetizers. However, we found ourselves waiting for almost an hour until the server finally came up to us telling us that some food items (which we never ordered) were not available. Then, he proceeded to take our orders again to "confirm". Another 10-15 mins pass and I ask our server where our food is and he said that the kitchen staff is new and it will be out shortly. Eventually, the food came out (an hour plus later) and the food was not up to standards at all. They plated the food terribly. Three people in the party ordered ribs and they just threw the ribs on the plate and it looked very sloppy. The birthday girl ordered lamb chops and it was not cooked to the temperature she desired so they took it back and the lamb chops came out still not cooked to the temperature she wanted. My other friend ordered gnocchi and it ended up falling apart as soon as her fork touched it and it was so salty; she couldn't even eat it. The server ended up taking some of these horrible food items off the tab which we appreciated. Overall, this was such a horrible experience all from the waiting to the terrible quality of the food. Our time was wasted and we came out of the restaurant hungrier than we went in.
Be the first to ReplySO DAMN GOOD.
I wish I took photos but wow this place blew our expectations away! The interior is stunning, but the service and food take it to the next level. We ordered a bunch to share. A few of our favorites: Brussels sprouts, crispy artichokes, lumache, grilled oysters (!!!), short rib, branzino, brownie a la mode. Couldn't recommend enough! Special thank you to our server, Rashid, who made our experience next level. Fantastic server and fantastic food! We'll be back.

Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is so beautiful.
It consists of two levels, there is a bar and dining on both levels. Upstairs has a dj and Bottle service. The host was pleasant and greeted us immediately. Our waiter did an excellent job in explaining the menu and even gave us a few recommendations. I tried a raspberry mock-tail, the Caesar salad, Brussel sprouts and pasta. The Brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious and enough to share. The Caesar salad is also big enough to share and had a unique lemon flavor and in-house made crotons. Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the caramelle pasta dish as the pasta was undercooked, but my waiter was extremely apologetic and made sure I received a menu with the option of selecting a new entree. I appreciate how everyone went above and beyond to make sure I had an enjoyable dining experience. This is a really cute date spot with attentive service. I would dine here again.

I would love to see the footage of their "server" pushing me out of the way to cut me in line for the bathroom that somehow got me kicked out. They claimed I pushed her and that they had "footage" that they refused to show me of me pushing her apparently. If she actually is a server (clearly with friends and dressed for the bar) isn't it completely inappropriate for her to push a guest out of the way even while "off duty?" When I asked for the bouncers names and to see the footage they threatened to call the cops which is hilarious. I know I sound like a Karen but this was insane and I've never been kicked out of a bar in my life (I'm 31) lmao. Also a Tito's soda is $17 that's literally the price of the entire fifth LMAO do not recommend

Be the first to ReplyWhat a trendy place to grab drinks and a bite.
Came here on a Wednesday night to celebrate a low-key dinner with a friend. I made a reservation however, there were some open tables so maybe needed during a weeknight. This place is trendy and absolutely stunning. It offers upscale vibes with huge chandeliers tufted suede couches and fresh flowers at each table. They also have stunning art work that adds so much vibrancy to the place. Our server was extremely attentive and often filled our water glasses, checked in to ensure we were okay with cocktails and at the end of the night brought my friend three scoops of ice cream for her special day.! The cocktails were tasty I loved the 'Heart in a Sage' apple brandy, pomegranate, sage, and lemon. Not too fruity and just enough kick. I will say for the glass size, the $17 price tag seemed overdone. As for food, the star of the show and menu highlight was the Lumache! Vodka sauce, italian sausage and ricotta. So so yummy, creamy, and the ricotta truly elevated the dish! Again, the portion size was smaller than expected however, it was so good it was absolutely worth every penny! I enjoyed my experience at Hide + Seek and it was a cute place to ring in a friends birthday.
Be the first to ReplyThis spot has such a nice ambiance and atmosphere.
The cocktails and food are so good. The staff was super amazing and welcoming. I loved how they gave their favorite recommendations from the menu. Def a spot you would want to try if you're in Chicago.
Be the first to ReplyYou'll notice how adorable this place is.
It is just as beautiful as the photos. Walking in with reservations, we were greeted by very nice people and seated immediately. The tables are a bit tight but that's all okay. Our server was nice enough but didn't warn us about the many 86'd items on the menu. This is after about 10 minutes of deciding on said items and needing to come up with a different game plan. First up was the Caesar salad. No bueno. For some reason, chef wants to do something different and use the nastiest, most bitter, huge uncut, escarole greens instead of romaine. The croutons aren't really croutons but instead are big chunky bits of hard to chew bread. The dressing and cheese were good though. It has the makings of a good salad but the execution...jeez. Ive never not eaten a Caesar salad so I guess it's a first time for everything. The sticky ribs were really good so they did something right there. The branzino itself was good but there's mushy and stringy artichoke hearts under it that should just...not be there. Would I go back? For pictures, yes. Maybe cocktails. Not food that's for sure. Let me reiterate how great the service and staff were. They are saving this place.

Outstanding service and food!! We got the private dining area and you could connect your phone and play own music! The environment was classy with candle lit across the table. I got the petite filet pictured. The side of potato was something else it just paired so good with the filet I could not put my fork down!!
Be the first to ReplyImpeccable service.
Will definitely return :). The drinks were beautifully presented and dont forget to order the octopus as an appetizer you will not regret!!!!!'
Be the first to ReplyWhat a dreamy experience.
We dined later in the evening, around 10-11pm, and the atmosphere was so alive, music playing, laughter. Our server brought out sparklers, which made for a fun photo op. The drinks were phenomenal -- I'd order every single one again. Great choice of 818 tequila. My unexpected favorite? The grilled oysters. Recommended by the server, oysters are not something I'd usually try, but boy am I glad I did. And the LAMB. Oh my gosh, to die for. Compliments to the chef, indeed. The owner was attentive and charismatic. You can tell that hospitality is not only a priority, but a passion. Highly recommend.

Be the first to ReplyThis place was a whole vibe! We weren't going to make it to
This place was a whole vibe! We weren't going to make it to our happy hour reservations so we walked here instead and as soon as we walked in, I was happy. The light fixtures and art on the wall were playful and modern! The hostesses were kind and helpful. We went upstairs and the vibes continued and they told us there's a DJ at 9. It was dimly lit and I loved the seating. The booths were spacious and I'd definitely return with a group of my girls. The food was also a hit! We started with the burrata and beets. I spread the creamy burrata on top of the perfectly toasted bread and loved the earthy, yet sweet beets. They weren't overly pickled. Would def order again. I also had the hamachi which was soft and mild. I love eating things that just feel light. Finally, I ended with the Lumache pasta. I really enjoy when places add creamy cheeses on top. The herb ricotta brought a smoothness to the pasta so make sure you mix it up well. The pasta had a little spice, but just a little so nothing to worry about.I also enjoyed a bite of my friends Octopus and there was great texture. Not too chewy and a little bit of char.Of course I had two cocktails and enjoyed those. I wasn't trying to get too turned up, so I kept it cute lol I will absolutely be back here for drinks and food!

Cool ambiance, food was nothing spectacular and somewhat too salty. Got charged for a refill of a coke ($4!), and the coke was from the bar not even a bottle or can. Plus we weren't even told it would be a charge

I was really looking forward to trying Hide+Seek given the positive Yelp reviews and how cool the restaurant looked. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by my experience during restaurant week. I did see how lovely the space was decorated upon entering, but the conversation inside was so loud that I had trouble hearing my two friends across the table. For the four-course restaurant week menu, I ordered the tomato kasseri salad, the campanelle, the braised short ribs, and the strawberry almond cake. I thought the food was just meh. While the tomatoes were very fresh and sweet in the salad, the filo wrapped around the kasseri cheese really didn't add much to the dish. I could barely tell there was filo there. The campenelle was made well but its flavor profile was too delicate, such that I couldn't really tell what it was supposed to taste like. The sauce tasted somewhat, diluted? The braised short ribs were average, not particularly juicy. I did enjoy the pickled watermelon that came with that dish. The potato "cloud" with the short rib came out inconsistently at our table (two of us ordered it), where one looked like it was piped and the other was just a pool of, essentially, mashed potatoes. My least favorite course was the dessert, which is highly unusual, because the house-made strawberry gelato that came with the cake was very icy. It was unfortunately not smooth in texture and kind of ruined the whole dessert for me.When we had ordered, the server informed us the first two courses would come out together. This was totally fine with us. However, what actually happened was two plates came for our party of 3, and both of them were mine! My two friends were not to receive their first two courses for another 5-10 minutes. The communication woes continued throughout the night. When we had finished our first three courses and was waiting for dessert, someone came out to clear our plates but also provided fresh plates and silverware that were clearly not for dessert. Someone else had to come and tell them to take those back and provide setting for dessert. For the prices that Hide+Seek charge, I expected much better service.Food: 1.75/5Service: 2/5Price: 2.5/5Ambiance: 3.5/5Overall: 2.25/5

Came here on a Wednesday night to celebrate a friends birthday. There are two stories, the downstairs being more of a restaurant, and the top floor being more of a bar lounge area with a few tables along the perimeter. Ordered a few drinks to start, and we they were quick to come out and very tasty. We ordered dinner and appetizers, and a few of our favorites were the octopus, Hamachi Crudo, and the short rib entree. Overall, the food came out quick and service was really good. I'll definitely be back to enjoy a drink or get a nice dinner in the future.
