Good atmosphere, delicious food for brunch
Had a great brunch with friends. Kale Caesar, baked eggs, Dutch baby - all were delicious. Other menu items looked tempting as well. The noise level was under control, which makes conversation easy. And they didn’t rush us to give up our table. Look forward to returning.
Be the first to ReplyA fantastic brunch at High Street.
A fantastic brunch at High Street. I had the baked eggs and my husband had the bialy platter. But before these, we shared a slice of poppyseed pound cake. We had great service from our server, Adam; and the owner, Ellen Yin, came out to check on our meal and see if we needed anything. Great location, great food and great people.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent roast pork sandwich
The roast pork sandwich was excellent. I like that it was literally bursting with filling, and the bread that wrapped around it was thin. The flavours of pork, rabe and provolone went very well together. I was also impressed that the wine list featured an excellent option which was available by the glass: the Avivo Sangiovese.

Rude staff and very average food. Don’t waste your time!! Breakfast sandwich was just ok but the worse part was the he/him working there. More interested in instantgram photos than customer service
Be the first to ReplyFresh a baked goodies and unique tasty sandwiches and flavor combos.
The bread and baked goodies were gorgeous looking on display and the two different ones we tried were very well executed. The cardamom dirt bomb was something like a pastry or kouign Au Mann texture with flavored sugar in the outside. It was glorious dipped in the coffee. The shortbread jam bar was buttery and short and crumbly and with just the right amount of jam on it. The forager breakfast sandwich was full of kale and the pickled mushrooms on it were an experience unto themselves. Additionally, there were plenty tu of good looking carry away options like ready made sandwiches and salads and tabouli and tzatziki etc.
Be the first to ReplyAvocado Toast - Yum!
Dropped in for some coffee and avocado toast. It was quite yummy and would recommend a visit. Be aware seating is limited.
Be the first to ReplyAhhh vocado Toast!
Best avocado toast I’ve Ever had anywhere. Would also recommend the Reuben- thick and scrumptious. So friendly. Saw lots of local hospital staff drop in for takeout, too.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect stop for breakfast
Popped in here for a quick breakfast, and was so pleased! The bacon egg sandwich, was so delicious. I was skeptical about it being on a roll, but it was great. The almond croissant though...perfection. I wish I had gotten a bag of them to go. They had a great looking selection of already made salads and snacks, to grab and go, along with a nice looking selection of breads and pastries to go. No where to dine in, but a few tables on the sidewalk to stop and enjoy your goodies.
Be the first to ReplyCute place
Cute place - would give 3.5 stars. All of the sandwiches looked good but opted for the roast pork. As is often the case with broccoli rabe, it can be bitter, and unfortunately with the provolone it overpowered. I was expecting kimche on the sandwich but the rabe must be marinated in kimche juice. Pork and bread was good.
Good COVID precautions. Only a few small tables outside and no indoor seating. No bathroom, FYI.
Take Your Time
So we went early. Walked in when they opened. The line formed behind us rather quickly. So be aware that you may wait. It’s worth the wait though. The Hickory Town and the Avocado Toast were worth buying again. The coffee was hot and good and the wait staff was superior. You shouldn’t be disappointed.

We selected the place based on trip advisor reviews. The place is worth a visit. Very friendly staff, nice interior and the food was delicious. The cocktails were very good as well.
Definitely recommend to go there and enjoy.

We sat at the high table with stools as we were late getting a reservation.
We loved it. With an excellent view of the cooking action , we felt part of the action in the best of ways.
We ordered six items from the varied menu. Each one proved creative and delicious.
The staff could not have been more gracious.
HINT:MAKE RESERVATIONS as soon as you know you want to go.If there are none, go early in the day and ask in person. They really try to accommodate.
Busy but gracious service, great food
Stopped by for a late lunch and the place was packed. Hostess added us to wait list and promised to text us when table was ready. Noticing I was walking with a cane she brought me a chair. Very gracious and warm first impression!
The lunch menu was simple and quickly prepared. They even accommodated by wife's VEGAN needs. My chicken salad on thick, home baked bread was delicious and the mushroom soup delicious!
Highly recommended!
Average
I came here for breakfast as per NYTimes' recommendation. Great stuff. Ordered the Hickory Town breakfast sandwich which was delicious but small. Ordered a chocolate croissant and guess what?! It was cold take out of fridge so that the chocolate inside the croissant was still in shape that it came out of the tube. Being thick and hard, it wasn't pleasant to chew (when did you have to put effort into dissolving a chocolate croissant in your mouth 😂).
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant Week Dinner Deal
Restaurant came highly recommended by a family member as well as many websites and Yelp. Also featured as one of the best Philly restaurant week deals. It did not disappoint. The restaurant week deal was 3 courses for $35. Considering the main menu items are in the 20s and low 30s this is a great deal.
Started out with some of their famous bread which was laced with orange peel. It was a nice change from plain bread. It was fluffy on the inside with a crispy crust as bread should be. I had the negroni. We also got some apps including burrata, cheese curds with shishito peppers and Damariscotta Maine oysters - loved all of these! The oysters were so fresh, burrata was creamy, and the addition of shishito peppers to the cheese curds was nicely balanced.
For our mains we chose the steak and mushroom and corn pasta. I am a sucker for mushrooms and pasta so I was a happy camper. My husband's steak was perfectly cooked and tender.
For dessert we tried the banana pudding that was topped with peanut brittle and a Boston cream cake. By this time we were struggling to finish our meal. The banana pudding was good but it was a little thin compared to what I'm used to but flavor was there on both desserts.
The service was excellent even though they were swamped they still managed to frequent our table and refill waters as needed. I liked the outside seating area where we people watched and enjoyed the breeze.
