This would have been 3.5 stars: nice place, good area, decor a bit spoartan/Scandi, expensive for what it is. But...
I paid over £400 for one night for a couple, plus an evening meal for 4. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was that they advertise 24 hours of car parking in the Angican Cathedral car park for £10. I did all the correct procedures when I parked, swapping the machine ticket for a "discount" ticket at the lodge.
When I returned the next day and went to pay at the machine, it charged me £15. It ws pouring with rain, and we were in a hurry to get home, so I paid, assuming I could get a refund later. However, when I emailed the hotel (with a scan of the receipt), "Damian" replied with words to the effect that it was nothing to do with them, and I'd have to take it up with the Cathedral.
I know it's a trivial amount of money, but as a matter of principle, it is to do with the hotel - they advertise it as a key selling point on their website, and it's one of the key reasons I chose that hotel rather than another. So to me, this reflects a poor attitude to customer service. I won't stay there again.
