Beautiful hotel in The Hauge in a great location.
Right near the Escher museum and Christmas market. A 10 minute walk from the main shopping area and restaurants. If you're looking for a traditional, older hotel feel, then this is the spot for you. Breakfast Breakfast was included with our stay so we went every morning. The dining room is beautiful. They have coffee/lattes and juice. You can order food off the menu like omelettes and pancakes, or go to the breakfast area which has many types of oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, croissants, bread, jams, scrambled eggs and sausage. Accomodations We had one of the smaller rooms which was very old school and had a small balcony (small enough where you could open the doors, but not go outside). TV has some British news channels in English. The bathroom was small but very nice. Service/staff Everyone was wonderful!

Hotel des Indes has the name and I decided to stay here for the first time. The location is great, the hotel looks lovely inside and out and the service is good. I had a number of comfortable nights sleep. Why not 5 stars? The room could have been a bit bigger (although the bathroom was huge), there could be more light in the room and the furniture could be a bit more suitable as a proper workdesk.

Places like Hotel Des Indes are the reason I never stay at AirB&B: I'm a sucker for fancy hotels and luxuriating next to chandeliers and plush velvet. Beautiful neighbourhood and within walking distance of the stunning Binnenhof and my favourite museum in Den Hauge, Mauritshuis. Buffet breakfast is THE BEST. They even serve salad for breakfast. SALAD! Whether you partake in breakfast greens or not, the spread is impressive. Several types of fish and delicious cheese, along with all the typical breakfast foods. They change it up day to day, so staying here for a week was well worth it. Checking in was a bit slow, but overall the service was good and face cloths, tea, and coffee was replenished daily. Staff tend to be hands off (not overly chatty or conversational), but that seems to be a Dutch thing, so I won't fault them for it.

After a morning of exploring Delft and a visit to Escher in the Palace before going to the Mauritshuis for the remainder of the afternoon. What better way to break than a visit to the restaurant at the Hotel Des Indes for a mini-afternoon tea (no tea, no shade ha). I remember I first heard of this hotel after seeing it in the 'Feels So Good' video with Armin van Buuren and Nadia Ali. I definitely wanted to experience the charm of this hotel as i saw on YouTube. I walked into the hotel and proceed to the restaurant. The service was attentive and I thought I'd order a plate of the Petite Fours accompanied by a double shot of espresso because I knew it was going to be a long day along with my fantastic meal at Little Vs. It was such a pleasant experience all for the price of a cocktail. There were maybe several other parties in the restaurant. I just sat there for half an hour and soaked up the ambiance of the hotel as if I was a guest staying at the hotel. Afterwards, I headed over to the Mauritshuis to see Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring. It was an afternoon where I felt a bit sophisticated and cultured.

This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from almost everything. The rooms are very classy. This is a great place to stay.
Be the first to ReplyI know, I am a sucker for posh places.
I love them! I try to check out established, historical places that hold old a bit of old time luxury from days gone by. The Hotel Des Indes was the perfect place to fill that need. The hotel was originally built as a mansion in the 1860s and turned into a hotel twenty years later. Guests who have stayed at Hotel Des Indea have been people from International Diplomats, Royals to tourists. You do not need to stay here to enjoy dining. There is a lounge for breakfast and afternoon tea as well as a nice restaurant.Brunch here is lovely and I wish that I had time for tea as the lounge is beautiful. The service is friendly and they do not rush you, allowing one to relish in the moment. For brunch I ordered eggs well done over brioche toast with bacon. It was simple but presented nicely. Very nice place to eat before starting your day. I believe it is worth the visit. Even just to dine and take a peek inside inside historical mansion in The Hague.

So let's be clear, this is a very comfortable very luxurious hotel and you would have to be rather spoilt not to like it or appreciate its benefits. That said, when you're travelling on business there are certain things you need. This hotel is not ideal for the business traveller who has any work to get done. Bed super comfy, and the room was very quiet. But desk space in the bedroom is inadequate for working. Gym is just about adequate but I've seen much better in lower priced hotels than this. But it has a full dumbbell collection and a few well maintained and clean machines, so you can do a reasonable workout - it's just a bit small that's all. Pool is no use for anyone who can actually swim - it's one of those endless pools and it's just not fast enough for somebody who does laps often. I'm sure the spa facilities are great, they looked great, but I didn't use them. There is no hot tub. The Wi-Fi works well. The restaurant is poor value for money for both breakfast and other meals & snacks. The breakfast buffet, while fairly comprehensive, is €31. The Hilton up the street has a much better breakfast buffet for €22, and various places in walking distance will do a great breakfast for €15. Generally, service at this hotel is extremely polite, bordering on obsequious, but is not in any kind of hurry. The Hotel is very well situated for walking around The Hague. Stay here if you on a luxurious vacation, are sightseeing in The Hague, on Honeymoon, or, want things old, historic and fancy. If you are a SPG or Marriott member and/or have some work to get done, or, like things modern and effective, you might be better to stay in the Marriott north of The Hague center and ride the tram into the city, which takes only minutes.
Be the first to ReplyMy boyfriend and I stayed here for 7 nights on vacation.
We arrived earlier then the check in time, tired from our long trip, we were accommodated without any issue. The hotel is beautiful and extremely well kept. The buffet breakfast is out of this world and varied slightly everyday which we both really liked. The turndown service was really nice and bottles of complimentary water were left in our room daily. The hotel staff is very helpful. They booked us a taxi through a car service they use from the hotel to Amsterdam. The driver was very professional and gave us great tips on what to do in Amsterdam. We had drinks at the hotel bar twice when we got back from dinner. Each time, we say they served a healthy platter of olives, crisp and some mixed nuts to snack on which were really nice. The cocktails are made with such skill you could equate them to a nice mixology cocktails. On Sunday and Thursday there was a lovely antique market right outside the hotel. They had a couple food venders as well. This hotel is in the best location. You will never be bored, there is so much to do in and outside the hotel.

The Good: :: service is top notch, start to finish :: hotel is very well kept :: status with SPG is recognized and I was given a room upgrade that was ginormous. the bathroom was ginormous. i felt like royalty being in that huge suite. :: wifi works very well :: location is fantastic---close to some incredible restaurants and boutique stores. in addition to that, you are right off of the Lange Voorhout, which like the Dutch answer to the Champs Elysees. this area is especially gorgeous in autumn. you cannot miss out! :: heated bathroom floors. wut. :: luxurious amenities in the room and bathroomThe Bad: :: noneThe Ugly: :: noneWould I go back? 100% yes. You can't ask for a more elegant hotel experience than this hotel while in the Hague! This place is IN.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hotel - old world and very ornate.
In a very quiet area with nice shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Located very close to American Embassy however it's in process of moving soon. Staff is wonderful - friendly and very helpful. Cab ride to Amsterdam is about 45 minutes to a hour depending on time of day - $85 through hotel. Walking distance to train - about a hour.
Be the first to ReplyWhat an amazing stay.
Brought my beautiful wife to Hotel Des Indes for Valentine's Day. It's not a cheap place, but in the off season it's a great value and quite possibly the most attractive room I've ever stayed in. Romantic, and a wonderful historic bar. Perfect location, walkable to restaurants and attractions. Beautiful.
Be the first to ReplySweet hotel.
Luxury for sure until our window kept opening during s early morning storm. It was because the wood was rotted where the lock fits in. Next evening went to the bar and waited 10 minutes and left. Nobody helped me. I hate that. Often at times they don't multi task in Europe. Not because they can't, its because they choose not to. This bar is a perfect example.
