Absolutely wonderful.
Of the price is right, I will always stay at this hotel. Outside area is "meh" due to the current situation of SF (it's the same everywhere). But inside, is beautiful. The decor is amazing along with customer service. Both times I've stayed here the service went above and beyond.

Be the first to ReplyWe came to SF for a birthday party celebration and booked
We came to SF for a birthday party celebration and booked through booking.com and had a wonderful stay overall. They were very helpful with check in and were able to help us with a booking confusion that was fixed within a few minutes. Valet was $65 and they had the sign clearly posted for pricing upon entering the hotel. Upon entering our room it was noticeably clean and even the window sill was properly dusted as well. There were outlets by both sides of the bed which was nice since we didn't have to scramble around the room trying to find places to charge our phones. The bed was nicely made with fresh linens and was fairly comfortable as well. We also noticed on the tray that they had a set breakfast menu that had a few options such as the breakfast plate (most customizable option), cereal, hot coffee, drinks, etc. I would highly recommend the breakfast since the menu itself is to be hung on the door by 1am and they give you time options for breakfast to be served so it was well worth it waking up to hot breakfast served directly to your room. The breakfast itself was wonderfully tasty and well seasoned as well. The eggs were cooked perfectly to our preference and the toast basket was loaded to the brim for two people. If you also wanted different food options, there are plenty restaurants/food spots walking distance away from the hotel as well. Only thing I thought was weird was the housekeeping was trying to come in and clean at 9am even when we had our do not disturb button on. We only opened the door since we thought it was breakfast at our door already but they were really nice and apologetic about disturbing us so we didn't mind too much since we were already up. Overall, if you're looking for a great hotel for your stay in SF, I would highly recommend hotel nikko for your stay as I would be happy to come back anytime I'm spending the weekend in SF.

My experience with this hotel was something out of a punked episode. Checked in with my wife and small dog on a Saturday afternoon, the hotel claims to be pet friendly. We went out for some drinks, upon returning at 1 in the morning we are locked out of our room. Front desk says we are being "evicted" from the property because we didn't register our pet. What? They can't be serious, right? Nope, they were serious. I told them I could register the dog now and pay whatever fee, we just wanted to go to sleep and they literally brought security over and told us it was non negotiable. We couldn't believe it. We have stayed at hotels all over the world and have never been kicked out of a hotel let alone at 1am without warning. Absolutely crazy. The ironic part is their entire theme/mascot IS A DOG!! You can't make this up! So instead of charging us a fee (which we are happy to pay) they would rather escort us out of the premises with TWO security guards like we are a couple criminals and leave us on the streets of San Fransisco at 1 in the morning. Unbelievable. We went to the four seasons down the street and I kid you not they brought out a chew toy at check in and a dog bowl up to our room and welcomed us with open arms. Hotel Nikko, your management is laughable at best. You run a hospitality business with a DOG as a mascot then evict people at 1 in the morning because they have DOG. A 7 pound small terrier, mind you. Make it make sense.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a really lovely stay at the Hotel Nikko.
The room was luxurious with an incredible view, and there is a Japanese restaurant downstairs that was just terrific. It's very close to BART if you are coming in from the airport or don't want to Uber around town after you park. Whoever says San Francisco isn't a beautiful city isn't someone you should trust!

what a great hotel to stay at! we had originally booked a deluxe room but since we were Expedia gold members, the hotel updated us to an imperial suite. the imperial lounge itself was gorgeous, with nice seating and great food selections. the lobby was also very nicely decorated and we loved the nice dog touches throughout the hotel. the pool and hot tub were very clean and we enjoyed them for a few hours on our first night. the service and staff were impeccable with very quick room deliveries. the only downside is that the parking is extremely expensive which is normal for downtown San Francisco but unfortunately, we did have to park at another parking garage. overall, Hotel Nikko SF was a great book, would definitely recommend it to stay at!

The Motiwn Review and Brunch at Hotel Nikko in SF with the family is fantastic! You won't be let down by the amazing show. The mimosas are spot on! They also offer a full bar service if you're interested. The brunch included scrambled eggs, roasted baby red potatoes, crispy bacon, chicken apple sausage, Belgian waffles, assorted pastries, yogurt with fresh fruit, and granola. It's not extravagant, but definitely not ordinary. Valet parking is $45.

Best hotel I've been to in San Francisco this far! From this moment we pulled up to valet, costumer service was amazing. Although it's valet parking only, this the same price other hotel would charge for overnight parking. Restaurant and bar was fairly priced. Amazing food and beautiful ambiance! Room service was a bit pricey but it what is expected with room service. Dog friendly with an area where your dog can handle their business. Indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and spa room. Cleaning, warm and comfortable! Rooms are amazing and speak for themselves. I can't speak on all rooms but ours had an amazing view! Location, location, location! Walking distance from the shopping district and plenty of restaurants near by! Highly recommend and already planning to booked them next time for our annual trip to San Francisco.

Because of the friendly staff the hotel deserves an extra star. Upon check in at the front desk you are greeted and the guest service person makes you feel welcome. The rooms are clean but the one we had that was an upgrade was very small. You walk in and the bed is almost literally..right there with no room to move. The bathroom is spacious with a tub and a shower and probably could have been built smaller in favor of a larger room space. The hotel boosts a nice work out room with weights, yoga space, rowing machines, bikes, ellipticals, treadmills and the list goes on. The work out room also has chilled water filled with lemons and cucumber. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub. This area is quite popular at all hours of the day. If you do not mind oodles of kids then this is the place to hang out. So..the most interesting part of the hotel experience is the box that looks like a clock. Always check to see if alarm is set! This innocuous machine was previously set at 4am..and when you are half asleep you push all the random buttons. One of which is the 911 which we hit while trying to turn it off at 4 in the morning. And quickly following is a knock from security. Exhausting and not fun experience. Valet parking is expensive at almost $75/day. There's no self parking but at least you know your car is safe. The valet drivers are not the friendliest unless you tip them. The concierge guy is nice and friendly. San Francisco has changed and not the safest or nicest. I feel Niko is a nice oasis from the elements of the city.

What a wonderful hotel! From the moment I pulled into the valet area, I was met with some of the kindest and most professional employees - which continued with the lobby staff and all of the other staff members I came in contact with. Everyone was extremely helpful and made my stay incredibly pleasant. My only complaint was my stay wasn't longer. I can't wait to return!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful! Loved every moment.
The hotel is so clean and nice and the breakfast was great too.
Be the first to ReplySadly I don't recommend staying here.
I selected this hotel for the great hotel rate to stay there that included parking. We knew we'd be arriving late to the hotel, so having parking included in the area was a bonus. We stayed for three days and the original booking would have been $992 total. When we checked out, the total was just over $2,000.Here's where they get you. Meals:There's nothing around this hotel after dark to eat, grab a quick snack, so you're stuck with their options: one restaurant with the prices are ridiculous: 'glass' of champagne was $28, entrees were over $30. Room service prices were off the charts as well, with service charges and tips included regardless of the service. Bait & Switch on ParkingWhen we checked out, I noticed we were charged $74/night for parking. I relayed to the front desk rep, Ernesto, that it should be included. He looked at me blankly and said it wasn't. I relayed that was the only reason we booked and updated him of our communication with valet when we arrived. [when we arrived, the valet (who were the only plus in all this - friendly, engaging, informative...just great). Valet team specifically asked us if we were checking in and whether it was included in our booking, otherwise it would be $65/nt. Said they make a point of asking because many visitors are shocked about the price and they refer a garage down the street. We confirmed it was included and they helped us with our bags.]Back to Ernesto...I shared the above statement and he states "there's no way the valet would know what pricing is". Odd statement as if they wouldn't be educated in this - of course they would, they deal with customers arriving and clearly departing with info on parking costs/issues. Ernesto said I needed to show proof of the valet being included. Unfortunately, my husband was downstairs getting the car while I checked out and I couldn't get ahold of him in that moment (called, sent a text but he wasn't quick enough). While I waited to get a response from my husband I asked Ernesto about the $74 charge on the bill vs the $65 quoted by valet....and the valet cost showing on the website. He just stared at me blankly and asked if I'd gotten feedback from my husband. I said I hadn't, he stated that he then wouldn't adjust the bill and if I had an issue, I could contact the billing department when I had proof. He refused to address the disparity in the current valet charge.I would not recommend staying here, the low room price is to get you in the door, but they overcharge and wrongfully charge in other areas and there's no recourse. The staff will not help with any corrections or considerations. Very disappointing to say the least.

This hotel used have the modern and artistic design with many good business customers in the restaurant and lobby. Now the lobby is dark with cheesy chandeliers and the breakfast room is also dark. Unfortunately, the smell of marijuana in the valet area! Not sure why the main entrance is closed all the time (homeless problem?). The bathroom grout is brown as I thought the floor is dirty or old, but that's designed for it. The renovation isn't great unfortunately. The hotel got bad impact from city problem although the location is only 2 blocks from Union Square, but they can have better in design.

We spent our Christmas in San Francisco and the Hotel Nikko did not disappoint. Service was excellent, the bar was excellent, and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is very clean and beautiful and we enjoyed our room. I love the central location of hotel. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyWe love staying at the Hotel Nikko.
It is very clean and the rooms are well decorated in a modern style. The price is a great value especially for San Francisco.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely not going to get service when you pay top dollar
Definitely not going to get service when you pay top dollar here. $500 for a basic room and when I asked if I can tip someone to bring my DoorDash order up, they said no you have to get it yourself. When I asked room service if they have vegan stuff for my friend they said 'I don't know'. And when we went to get into bed, the sheets had blood stain from someone else. There are wonderful hotels in the area. No need to waste your money here.
Be the first to ReplyTiny room which is expected for San Francisco.
Staff was very kind and there was great customer service. But they charged an extra cost for each little thing, like accepting a package delivery, and it really added up to a crazy overall cost. You can bring your pet, but it's an extra $65 + pet fee tourism tax of 14%. There's a business district fee nightly as well. Just be aware what you see on the webpage where you book is not what you'll end up paying if you. For us, it was about $500 more expensive than we expected it would be (the "estimated total" quote, including taxes and fees), for a 6 night stay.
