Hyatt Centric Times Square New York Reviews from The Last Year
Best hotel stay 5*
We were given a corner toon overlooking Times Square on 35th floor. The room was perfect. The biggest bed and softest in a hotel. Staff were helpful when we spoke to. AC was brilliant in 36° and 60% humidity. High cotton sheets and lovely towels. Faultless stay. Delicious food especially the cinnamon buns in the cafe attached. Drinks on 54th floor with incredible views.
Excellent
We stayed on the 49th floor and had a great view. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was great. Housekeeping was quick to bring us more pillows.
Good location, overpriced, no lobby
The location was close to times square, the room was clean. There is no lobby or quality space for customers to meet and lounge. I found it overpriced for what I received.
Family adventures
Brilliant location just off Times Square between 6th Avenue and Times Square, right where the action is. If you want it. Clean kerbside and a welcoming check in As a 5, we were given two 8th floor rooms overlooking W45th Our room had two king beds, an empty fridge, a safe, bottled water which was refreshed daily. Room was also cleaned daily which was nice Bathroom was a walk in shower with rainfall head and all the amenities like shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. There's a coffee shop type set up attached to the lobby open till 7pm or 1pm depending on the day Prices were a little steep but very convenient. Other options are Starbucks over the road, McDonald's at the end of the block, Connollys Irish pub 2 doors up or Dyane Reade also over the road. Obviously the choices are nearly unlimited given the location so you'll not starve. Bar54 on the 54th floor had a great vibe and a fantastic view of One World Tower. Book and go once. Save up though 😄 Always had a 'Hi' from the guys in the lobby when returning. If you want a hotel up in Times Square then you'd not really find a much better one than this for the money
Very nice location and service
Hotel was right across Times Square. Had great facilities. They tried to accommodate our requirements of early check in. Customer service was very promot
Review
The front desk were friendly and the housekeepers were efficient and provided excellent service. I got 2 rooms which were both clean, but one of them was dusty.
Excellent NYC discovery hub
1 minute from Times Square/Broadway, excellent place to discover the city. Clean, quiet, and boasting an outstanding rooftop bar.
TV
The hotel was great and facilities are very central to Times Square and the theatre district. The group at T45 Made for a superior experience. As well the service on the 54th floor was great. Housekeeping was excellent very friendly and very accommodating.

This hotel is fantastic! Very close to the action in Times Square but far enough not to get run over by pedestrians and traffic while exiting the hotel. The staff is so friendly and helpful. My family and I stayed on the 34th floor and found the room to be super quiet. I did not hear any other guests on my floor or above my room. I did hear a few sirens from outside but nothing that would wake us up at night. The room was very clean, beautiful, and modern. The shower was SUPERB. Beautiful rain shower that had the best water pressure! So many convenient places to eat and shop. This place is amazing if you are visiting NYC. Helpful hint, this hotel has a rooftop bar that has AMAZING views of the city. I found this hotel to be an amazing value for the money. I would 100% return back to this hotel again when visiting NYC.

Horrible!!! Small rooms even with a living room and a bedroom. Twice my key room does not work. It's frustrating being out all day to go to your room to find out your key doesn't work. Then to go back to the lobby to ask for help. Such an inconvenience!!! Horrible!
Fantastic location, walked all over Times Square.
So many restaurants within walking distance. I always book 2 rooms when traveling with my family. One was bigger than the other, but I'm assuming the smaller one is more typical. Not a lot of counter space in the bathroom. Not sure why but I was only able to use app check in for 1 of the rooms, I had to go to the counter to check into the 2nd room (bummer). Overall, I would definitely stay here again when visiting NYC.

A very nice hotel with plenty of amenities and an amazing location. My only problem is the beds weren't very comfortable for me, so sleep was difficult. The staff are lovely, and you really can't beat being less than a block from Time's Square.
Really clean hotel spot in Times Square.
Had no major issues and would stay here again!
We loved our stay here at the Hyatt Centric Times Square.
Exceptional service. The staff is welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Everyone took great care of us from check-in to check-out. Rooms were clean and spacious. We were able to check in to our room at 8 AM. The beds and pillows are soo comfortable. We could not have asked for a better experience! We will definitely stay here again.

Just far enough away from the crowd to feel at ease, yet close to everything. Coupled with the hospitality of the staff and comfortable room made for a relaxing and enjoyable trip.

Had a wonderful time at this Hyatt Centric and it was just so perfect and central for our girls trip to NYC. We booked an executive suite and got an upgrade to the 44th floor, giving us awesome views of the city as well as insulating us from any noise happening down below at the ever so busy Times Square area. Location - 5 stars Located in the heart of Times Square and a few blocks from Penn Station, making it easy for us to come/go from Newark airport in NJ. It's also right between the upper side with 5th avenue, Central Park, etc and the lower side with Greenwich village, etc. Service - 5 stars Ritchie helped us at check-in and he was so great!! He took good care of us and made us feel valued during our time here. The front desk also provided umbrellas because it rained our last day here. Amenities - 5 stars The bed was super plush and the shower pressure in the bathroom was very strong. They provided plenty of clean towels and extra blankets and toiletries upon request. There is a coffee shop downstairs and an awesome rooftop bar on the 54th floor (the highest rooftop bar in nyc)! We hung out at the rooftop bar every night and it was a great way to end our long days walking out and about in the city that never sleeps. Would absolutely stay here again and again! Loved it
Spent the weekend in the big apple and decided to stay at
Spent the weekend in the big apple and decided to stay at the Hyatt Centric Times Square. Let me begin by saying that the hotels location is perfect if you want to be a short walking distance from where all the actions act. It's located in a quiet side street and has a Starbucks and Walgreens pharmacy right across the street that comes in handy. The hotel is modern, simplistic, very clean and comfortable. When you enter to the left, is a quaint seating area to hang out in while you wait for friends or your Uber to arrive. There's also a store where you can purchase prepackaged snacks or order something hot to eat such as breakfast sandwiches. I had a croissant sandwich with egg, bacon and cheese. It was quite tasty, but also very greasy. There's a small area with tables where you can sit and enjoy your breakfast. Our room was very clean. The bathroom included 6 bath towels for my party of 3 which we appreciated. In the shower we also had plenty of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash samples. There's a blow dryer incase you need it and a makeup mirror with magnifying lens. I was not able to use the makeup mirror, however, due to the lighting in the bathroom. The mirror does not have a light on it making it almost impossible to use, bring your own. We did have issues with our reservations and although the front desk staff was trying to "fix" it, they made matters worst. It took us 2 separate visits to the front desk and a supervisor to finally get things squared away. That would have to be my only complaint from our stay. Otherwise, it's a lovely hotel with a great location!

Before arriving, we received email from the staff and were quickly able to arrange transportation from EWR to the hotel for $150 which is a little pricey, but very convenient. They picked us up in a brand new car with lots of room which was a great start due to our 5 hour flight. The hotel itself was great and right in the middle of anything. Plenty of hot water, the rooms were very comfortable with cool views of the city, the bathroom had heated floors and housekeeping was so kind! I really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come again.
Got there around 9AM.
Was able to check in but had to upgrade the room. The upgrade was $40 which I was thankful since I spent the night on the plane and wanted to log into work and take a shower. The front desk staff were amazing! No mini bar and no microwave but there is a fridge. The ice machine on the floor was broken. The bathroom was spacious. Only thing though that when you take a shower, the water does not drain quickly, so you end up standing in that murky and dirty shower water from your body. Housekeeping staff were warm. We were there Friday, checked out on Monday. We did not need housekeeping services. Only one day I asked for more shampoo and soap. If we needed towels, we can call for it or ask housekeeping. We're easy guests. At the lobby there's a cafe/market type of thing. They offer coffee, salads ready made, water, sodas, chips, alcohol.. they have a 24/7 gym, and a nice rooftop bar on the 54th floor. Our stay was wonderful!! Only thing I did not enjoy was the morning of our checkout. We called to have our car ready. We were told 30 min. I called after 30 min. and was told they had to deal w/ an incident. The car finally rolled up a little after an hour. The gentleman gave the keys front desk, so we did not tip. I did put $40 on the desk for housekeeping though. Located just one block away from the madness of Times Square.
We chose this hotel due to its suites which offer more
We chose this hotel due to its suites which offer more space with a bedroom and living room. We utilized the king sized bed and the pullout sofa in the living room. The suite is nice and spacious and as a family of four, we were comfortable there for a short stay. The bathroom was also a decent size with a large shower with strong water pressure. The location was convenient for us to walk to Broadway shows, Madison Square Garden and Times Square. The downsides were that the pullout bed was very flat and uncomfortable. When laying on the bed you could feel the bed springs. We asked for another mattress and housekeeping made the bed again with a foam bed topper on it which made it a lot better. Another negative was that there was a horrible smell coming from the mini fridge. At first it wasn't too noticeable but after leaving some food in there on the second day we noticed a very odd, nauseating smell similar to nail polish remover. After googling it, we learned this is probably due to a leak from the refrigerator coolant Freon. I informed the front desk and they said they would send someone to check on it. We were out all day and upon return to the hotel, we still noticed the smell. I don't know if anyone checked on it as we didn't receive any follow up from the front desk. It wasn't a big issue for us as, just an unpleasant inconvenience. We just decided not to use the fridge or even open it. We purchased a few snacks and drinks from the small snack bar downstairs which is convenient to charge to your room. The room service that they offer is bagged meals. They were quite pricey so we did not purchase those. All in all, we were happy with our stay the Hyatt Centric Times Square.
Okay, so I'm anti-big chain hotels.
And not the biggest fan of a Hyatt. But I have to admit, this hotel is a hidden gem in NYC. The Hyatt Centric isn't super high end. Don't expect The Crosby, The Pendry, or Lotte Palace. But this place wins on its location right in the heart of Times Square. The rooms are also massive, for a New York hotel. I've stayed here a few times on work trips, as it was in my approved travel budget. I wasn't sure what to expect. There is ZERO lobby to speak of, and it's a little weird getting to the elevator bank. But what sells this place is the primo location, the spacious rooms, and incredible rooftop bar/restaurant. I'm a big fan of this place -- there is a Starbucks, Duane Reade, and the TKTS booth just steps away. The hotel also has a mini cafe on the bottom floor with coffee, snack and sandwiches. Is it totally luxury? No, but it is a pretty great spot and I keep coming back!
Just stayed for three nights for a work trip.
Pros: good location and was surprisingly quiet, great cafe downstairs, decent room size and bathroom, bed was ok. Cons: initial room I was given was terrible - right behind loud elevator, low floor with crap view after I asked for high floor, beat up walls and furniture and the lighting was almost non existent; housekeeping broke a bottle of hair oil (that I'd just purchased for $40); I tried to hail a cab in the rain for ten minutes before doorman finally emerged from inside to help me out. So, yeah, service wasn't the greatest.
Highly recommended.
Great location, very clean rooms, modern and friendly service. Parking garage directly across the street and nice rooftop bar/restaurant.
Staying at this hotel was a nice experience - they ensure
Staying at this hotel was a nice experience - they ensure it's cleaned daily. The proximity to Times Square, just a 1-minute walk away, is fantastic. However, keep in mind that there's no scenic view from the window. Overall, a solid choice for convenience, especially if you prioritize cleanliness and easy access to Times Square.
