A tight little spot with a good vibe
The spot is located in The Grove neighborhood, has access to a small parking lot, and was easy to find and get to. Upon entry, is a podium to check in...there was a couple that raced us to the front door, they were told there would be a brief wait likely 45 min...we were sat immediately because we had a reservation (for an inside seat). The hostess was kind, polite, and unassuming, and pointed out the layout to us. As we found our seat, i was taken by the smallness of the space...handsomely decorated and quite intimate, we found mostly couples enjoying themselves. The service was kind and worked hard to please. We tried numerous fan favorites, and found each dish was rich and full flavored. Moderate prices with the gratuity added automatically. Will come again.

Indo was one of my favorite restaurants but after our experience last weekend I cannot recommend it and am extremely disappointed. A celebratory dinner was ruined and I really feel like the management has gone downhill. I contacted Indo to discuss the issues and received the automated “you’ll be contacted in 24 hours message”, they haven’t contacted me. They claim to have a “heated and covered patio” and allow patio reservations regardless of weather but when we went on Sunday it was so cold on their patio that we ended up taking some food to go because we couldn't feel our feet. Unacceptable customer service considering there were more than 3 empty tables inside (I heard staff discussing cancellations, yet nobody on the patio was offered a table inside). For $400 (for 3 people) you would think they could at least attempt to keep guests warm. They have 5pm reservations and state a strict “if you’re 15 mins late you’ll lose your table” policy, but when we showed up at 4:50 the hostess saw us (and 4 other guests) standing outside the doors in below freezing temperatures, with a slight drizzle, and decided we would have to wait until 5pm for the doors to be unlocked. Very sad as I’ve loved this restaurant and been a patron for years, but it’s clearly gone downhill.

This was our second visit to Indo. As with the first, the food was fantastic. However, our primary waiter, Daniel, was so rude that it ruined the experience.

Dillon was our waiter, Martinis were superb followed by the pork dumplings and Mass. scallops. Sampled the chili garlic noodles and a number of the handrolls. Highlight was the Masu sashimi. Excellent food, exacting service, WOW!

Worst meal in years. Every single dish and cocktails was cloyingly sweet. Shrimp toast which receives incredible reviews tasted like sweet and burnt cardboard. Potatoes are over cooked. Sashimi dishes have sugary sauces. Hand-rolls poorly made - seaweed not toasted, rice not properly prepared, and minuscule amount of fish. When you confront management about issues, despite the 20% automatic gratuity (charges on top of tax), they shrug it off or become confrontational. All in all, a terrible and disappointing experience.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional, creative Asian food.
We had a fantastic meal here, every dish from start to finish was exceptional. Gyoza, garlic noodles, sashimi all freshly prepared with excellent flavor. And the chocolate torte with halva was a great finish. Highly recommend!

Don’t let the humble exterior fool you! We went for graduation dinner and it was some of the most exquisite Asian food we have ever eaten. A storm had wiped out their patio and so our party of 5 sat at the walk up sushi bar…which meant we got to see first hand the love and imagination going into several of the dishes. Everything was excellent…but if we had to pick a couple of favorite dishes, the palm sugar ribs appetizer, all the sashimi but the spicy tuna in particular was melt in the mouth good, the lamb tartare and the short rib curry was to die for. We thought we didn’t have room for dessert until the chocolate torte turned up and changed everyone’s mind! Excellent attentive service that rounded out the whole experience. Book it as soon as you can!

We had a wonderfully customized dining experience at Indo, courtesy of our server Joss. I was half joking when I said, "can you just order for us?!" And, she gladly did! She put together a dynamite menu for us that served as a bit of a highlight reel for the innovative chef. From Japanese pumpkin to shrimp toast and a handful of different shashmi and nigiri selections (including a Wagyu beef), everything was extremely well done. The restaurant also has nice pandemic protocols in place. You must make a reservation, have your temperature checked upon arrival, and wear a mask when not seated. In fact, my only complaint was how STRONG the antiseptic smelled... it was like you could taste it. Oh, nice cocktail game too. Really enjoyed the Serene Sabai.

The food and the service at this tiny restaurant really impressed our party of four. Subtle spices and high quality ingredients are an excellent combination. Our server Riley made good suggestions for our combination of small plates. We particularly enjoyed a spicy short rib dish and a flavorful cabbage slaw.

Had an early reservation at 530. Was seated promptly. Enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The fried pork skins and dumplings were not what I expected but in a good way. The were both delicious. I highly recommend the lobster thermidor as well. Very tasty:)

Outstanding food, excellent service and a dining experience that would in comfortably in Los Angeles or New York. Reservations are hard to come by and deservedly so. Short rib ragu was superb. Not for the timid but those willing to try dining outside the norm will be richly rewarded.
