Good Italian cuisine and atmosphere
Usually when I'm abroad I never choose Italian restaurants but this time I trusted and I did well! I chose an osso buco and it was very tender and tasty. The seafood pasta I tried was equally well made. Abundant and varied starters. Wine list with Silicon Valley prices, but ok. Then the owner is super cool and surprisingly even sang for us (excellent voice). Nice evening.

This was a pretty poor experience all round, beginning with a churlish maitre’d, who couldn’t read our reservation, to a ninety-minute wait for our main courses. I could’ve tolerated that, if the food was decent. The ‘special’ fish was sole(?) or was it the sole of a shoe? $36 for curled up dried-out tiny fillets with three pieces of beetroot and three mini potatoes. Awful. What a disappointment. I will never bother with place again.

Be the first to ReplyGood place, OK food
Went for Saturday dinner, we had a reservation. After arrival we were promptly seated outdoor (as we went with our dog). Location is good - on California, it was easy to park as there is parking place close by. Service was good and prompt. Food is presented nicely, taste is average (maybe slightly above average, but nothing to brag about). Got veal osso bucco, well no vegetables to be found on the plate (despite a description in the menu), have not come even close to what I experienced in Italy (maybe I have too high bar 😉), despite all this it was tasting well. My wife got fish (special of the day) and said it was OK.

Delicious place! The Fritelle (I think that's what it's called) appetizer with burrata and fried pizza dough was very unique and outstanding. But the rest of the meal was great as well- meatballs, pasta (Spinach ravioli). Very nice service. Good decor. Definitely a place I'll be back to!

Owned by Kristjan D’Angelo, Franco Campilongo and Maico Campilongo iTalico is the team’s second Restaurant in Palo Alto, a focus on the flavors of Calabria and fair prices earning Bib Gourmand status for 2022. Opened in 2016 just a few yards from Terún Pizzeria, itself equally awarded, it is once inside iTalico that guests are welcomed warmly with a choice of seating options amidst a lively dining room. Benefited by outstanding service and plenty of imported goods, the lack of hard Liquor allowing staff to focus on unique Italian Wines, dinner begins with good Bread and Olive Oil followed quickly by delicate Frittura Mista and loosely-packed Meatballs bathed in simple Sauce. Co-owned by Michael Oliverio and Giuseppe Errico, the Southern Italian roots of all five men showing in fried Pizza topped with Stracciatella and 24-Month Prosciutto, Pasta comes dressed in many forms though few are as rich and hearty as Paccheri treated like Pot Roast. Onward to Pizza, natural fermentation and a wood-burning oven yielding an easily digestable Dough despite the lack of a developed cornicione, ‘Nduja finds its heat tempered by grilled Squash while Rovagnati Mortadella finds a predictable mate in Pistachios cracked and creamed. Staying traditional with Dolci, ten choices plus Cheese, Tiramisu proves fairly basic with not a lot of heft while Doughnuts see mellow Citrus and the flavor of Nutella inside two-each of golf ball sized orbs that are both soft and greaseless.

A lovely family style restaurant. Enjoyable the attentive service and always come to you for more. Food is great with her eat recommendations especially the fried calamari and shrimp. Dipping into the special sauce really yummy. The pasta with spicy pork sausage is perfectly cooked .. prefer thinner pasta but taste is good. The tiramisu is so so good. Wine varieties are good and at decent price. The Italian wine choices are value with great vintage to enjoy. Rated under Michelin guide and worth a visit.

The pizzas were good and the service was impeccable. The owners are great and were able to squeeze us in last minute.

This place was recommended by locals. The owners are truly Italian and deliver an amazing dining experience. Antonio, Franco and Michele bring passion and authenticity to iTalico. They are great guys and go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your meal. Everything they offer is of extremely high quality. Who knew they made such great pesto in Calabria??? Adrienne and Dani provide tremendous service as well. Cinza is “The Northern Donna” that keeps everything running smoothly. All in all - this place offers high quality food, great service and good value. The live music on Thursdays is a bonus. Book here and enjoy!!!

My choice for Italian food. Warm friendly environment, very authentic, great wine selection, relaxing atmosfere.
Be the first to ReplyRich flavours, careful choice of ingredients
Dinner for two booked via Yelp, seated immediately.
I had done my homework and came with a plan... instead, we ended up raiding the daily special menu.
Good olive oil and fair ciabatta bread (soft crust, but still crust), then appetisers: fagioli and bietole, simple looking, and a pleasant start. Debated whether Swiss chard was actually just spinach.
Alici fritte: 3"-long anchovies fried in light batter with head and tail, but opened and cleaned: flavour familiar to me and "right".
Entree: tagliolini with salsiccia and porcini. As it sat on the table, aroma of mushroom and I daresay truffle enveloped me. Tagliolini were well cooked and did not steal the lead from the mushrooms and the sausage. My winner of the evening.
Another entree: risotto with veal/pork/whatever bolognese. That is a risotto with red sauce, soffritto and a bit of ground meat. Dance of flavours in balanced harmony.
Then, being bottomless, tiramisù: a cup of good mascarpone cream around too few cookies. AND: bomboloni ("donut"), 3 balls of warm and soft fried dough covered in sugar, with sides of excellent custard (never enough... it was objectively little). Nothing to do with the usual doughnuts (Dunkin's or otherwise): these are actually good.
Happy with this meal, for 150$ (ouch!). Flavours are interesting, ingredients felt well chosen, the style is quite Italian. We'll likely come back.
Service was a bit on the slow side, place was pretty full at 8 pm and noisy enough to make it hard to hear each other.
Relaxed, welcoming, and authentic
We enjoyed Italico twice for dinner in a short span and enjoyed how the excellence of the staff complimented the delightful work of the kitchen.
First, we we greeted as if we were longtime customers and welcomed back on the second visit in a sincere acknowledgement of our return.
The menu provides a wide selection.
The gnocchi delivered a flavorful combination of pesto, pine nuts, and green beans.
The pan seared salmon with a slightly sweet lemon drizzle was excellent. It came with fresh green beans and Yukon potatoes that had just the right level of garlic to make them distinctive without overpowering the salmon.
Ask for the bread and olive oil—both are fresh.
The red sauce was nicely prepared and allowed the ingredients to be distinct yet in a combination that proved well flavored and essential to the noodles and meat.
A varied wine list—the Vermentino paired well with the salmon.
We will return
Great Italian pasta
Went there with the entire family on a friend's recommendation. The restaurant is very nice, good atmosphere, a little too noisy to my opinion. We immediately ordered grilled chicken, french fries and standard tomato pasta for the kids so we can concentrate on the menu and order. The kept on bringing very tasty bread with olive oil. We ordered a few pasta dishes, all were very good (especially the Gnocchi al Pesto). Overall service was okay but sometimes our waitress disappeared for long moments and we had to wait for her to come back or have the shift manager take care of it (he was walking around all the time so that was good).
Be the first to ReplyJust like being in Italy Italy
ITalico, Dining with you all is just like being in Italy. I just LOVED your authentic house made pastas. The service was outstanding and the Itaian background music (if you could hear it) was a great touch! The only thing missing was it was beyond being way too loud...
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to bring a team
The twelve of us were served efficiently and politely and the food was excellent. The menu included some items that were not purely Italian, but the flavors were authentic and delicious. We were treated professionally and the meeting was a success. My scallops were excellent and the ravioli I sampled was very good. Good appetizers.

Good selection of dishes - and all were good, hearty but did not feel decadent on guilty. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is both comfortable and classy.

Excellent friendly wait staff. Full menu (except no child's menu). The hard surfaces make for noisy main rooms. Parking in lot behind restaurant.
