While I would give the service 5 stars, both my guest and I were a bit underwhelmed for this price point. While the fish was very fresh, the ingredients im the appetizers could have been more balanced. For example, one of the courses had a mustard that was unpleasantly sweet. The Wagyu was too chewy. I will say that the dessert was fantastic. Overall, compared to other places at this price point, the "Wow" factor was missing.

This was the perfect experience for my husbands birthday! We are big fans of omakase and wanted to try ITO. We were impressed with the service and the attention to detail. We ordered tea and there was never a moment my cup was less than half full. The food was fantastic, we definitely left full. Everything was so fresh and I loved watching the chefs put it all together. One thing to note, this place has customers who are in larger groups. It got quite loud and other people's eating pace will impact your pace. Our meal took the full two hours because the group next to us took a while to eat between their conversations. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!

Absolutely outstanding omakase spot tucked away on a quiet Tribeca street. Some of the best sushi I've eaten, rivaling all of the coveted omakase restaurants in NYC. Our Chef was extremely personable and made for a unique and intimate experience. Scallop is not usually my favorite type of sushi, but i was still thinking about it days after eating it at Ito- that's how well done ever piece of fish served is. Their drinks were also fantastic- I am so looking forward to my next Ito trip.
Be the first to ReplyWow, absolutely incredible experience.
The staff is so attentive and make you feel so welcome and special - went here for my birthday and they all wished me happy birthday. The fish is absolutely fantastic. The venue is very private and the music is a vibe. This is a once in a lifetime kind of experience but I can't wait to go back.

Small intimate Omakasa joint in Tribeca Kevin the chef and owner was amazing everything melts in your mouth but be prepared to get a second mortgage on your house because dinner for 2+ sake was $1071 including tip.

Absolutely stunning, each dish was 100% and I was stuffed by the end of the meal. Perfect combo of delicious food, impeccable service, and hip hop music. They are so generous with their portions and definitely worth the price! Most importantly, I like how they put their own unique spin on the food. Highlights include: - Ikura + Uni + caviar: I was drooling from all the Ikura they put in the bowl... - Hirame: with shiso flowers and apple vinegar jelly, what a great combo - Nodoguro: always one of my faves, seared to perfection - Seared otoro: melts in your mouth Red miso and white chocolate dessert with popcorn bits I would note the rice texture is a bit different from other spots and is almost a bit creamy - still deciding how I feel about it but definitely unique! Thank you to Chef Chen for a delicious meal - leaving fat and happy with ikura bouncing in my belly...

ITO is extremely clean, staff was constantly cleaning throughout dinner service which I thought was a nice touch. The courses are amazing.

This place tasted so authentic, we were in japan a month before the visit to Ito and I could not taste the difference between quality of fish.Service was also excellent, the team is efficient, attentive and super friendly.Would definitely recommend and of course will be going back.

I was fortunate enough to celebrate my birthday here and the entire experience left me giddy and speechless. The choice of lighting and materials cultivated an elegantly modern and zen atmosphere; the waitstaff was attentive and lovely; the quality of fish cannot be defeated; and extra props to Chef Kevin for sharing his mastery and art with us.

5/10Service: 10/10Ambience: 9/10Ito was my 1st high end omakase meal, and one of the best I've had so far! I visited Ito back in the summer, and I've been eating omakase a lot more since my visit. There are few places that I found on par with Ito. Overall value is excellent at ~$295 per person (tho it was ~$275 when I went). The omakase under $150 in NYC definitely do not compare to Ito. I wish Ito gave me a menu of what I was served though since it's hard to remember all the pieces.I already felt pretty good about dinner beforehand bc the Operations Manager, Misa, was especially accommodating when I contacted Ito prior to dinner. Service during dinner was exceptional as well. Although I am right-handed, I actually eat sushi with my left hand. This can be confusing but we noticed that the chef changed the placement of the sushi appropriately for a left-hand eater -- without me saying anything about it. While all the pieces were excellent, the most memorable for me were the Uni x Ikura x Caviar bowl, shrimp, torched Otoro, miso soup with cod, and dessert! We thought the wagyu was good but not the best. Hopefully, I'll get to try Ito again and get to be seated with either Chef Masa or Kevin!

Really cool vibe for an omakase and the chefs were all so amazing and fun
Be the first to ReplySushi restaurants and more specifically ones that
Sushi restaurants and more specifically ones that specialize in only Omakase can be judged in many different ways. I prefer to keep it simple, I stick to ambiance, quality, and friendliness. In my opinion Ito crushes all three! After eating here many times the consistent quality of the fish is unparalleled except by a few other top names in the game. The ambience is modern, clean and playlist exceptional. All staff members are welcoming and friendly. If you want a special and artistic culinary experience and are ready to pay up for it, Ito nailed it.

Food is delightful. Ambiance is amazing. One of the best Omakase in the city so far. Highly recommend.

You can tell the whole team works together to deliver the best-in-class experience for you. The food, ambiance, service, just every detail. This restaurant will soon be Michelin starred, but most importantly you'll have a really phenomenal experience shared with the person you care. This is by far my favorite omakase place( out of 7-8 other high-end places in town including masa, uchu etc.) and Ito deserves to be known by more people.
Be the first to ReplyI don't find the price is reasonable for omakase.
Toro, shima aji, halibut, ikura, uni from hokkaido, I find shari is too sweet. Compare to other omakase place, it tastes average but 30% more price for same quality.

Came here for a graduation dinner after hearing about their opening and enjoyed the meal! Half the parties arrived late so the timing was a bit off, but it didn't really affect us too much. Each piece was a generous size and I was definitely full by the end of the meal. The chefs interacted with us throughout and made sure the pieces were to our liking. Mostly had traditional pieces you'd normally see and we got add-ons as well that were suggested. It was definitely more lively and chatty compared to other omakases I've been to but overall a great experience.

On the pricier side of nyc's omakase selections however very worth it! They were very generous with their uni and I loved their creativity and play with the appetizers. Extra add ons are available if the course didnt fill you.

I finally was able to get a reservation at Ito and it was absolutely wonderful! I'm not going to rank omakase experiences, but suffice to say that this was right up there with the best I've had. That includes Noz, Shuko, Nakazawa, and others that are regularly included on "best of" lists. What impressed me the most was the consistency - there wasn't a single course that was less than delicious. If you're looking to splurge on high-end sushi, this place is one of the few that justifies the price tag. 10/10

There's a reason everyone followed Chefs Kevin and Masa from Sushi Zo! Amazing omakase menu, beautiful presentation, great service. You'll leave feeling very well fed! I was too full to finish my dessert which was also delicious and decadentTook pics of most of the dishes but got too excited to eat and forgot some. Not pictured is the black cod miso soup which was one of my personal favorites
Be the first to ReplyWhat a gem! World class sushi, service, sake, wine.
... all in an inviting and stimulating environment. Kudos
Be the first to ReplyIto is hands down my favorite sushi omakase in New York.
Granted, we have been eating at Sushi Zo with Chef Kevin and Chef Masa before Ito. Why it stands out: 1- Consistency. Every time we go dine with Chef Kevin, there has NEVER been a bad piece, ever. All of the fish are always perfectly filet, cut, seasoned, and presented. The pieces may look simple, but flavor is complex. 2- Quality and Creativity. At Ito, the chefs not only use the best of the best ingredients, there's also a variety of interesting pieces/dishes that the chefs come up seasonally. There's never a dull meal at the counter. The ingredients change seasonally as well, so even if you go back often, there's always new pieces to try.3- Value. I know it is hard to say ~280pp is a good value at a restaurant, but for what you get to taste and enjoy at this omakase counter, it is absolutely an amazing value. Most of other sushi omakase counters we have had good experiences at are much more expensive than Ito. 4- Service. Even though Ito is newly opened, the service team seems like they have been working together for years! The servers are extremely knowledgable and attentive. One server gave me a fresh napkin before I even realized I dropped mine on the floor. In comparison to other restaurants, I would put Ito at the same level, if not better, than Sushi Zo, Sushi Ikumi, Sushi Noz (Ash Room), or Sushi Ginza Onodera. Counters like Shuko, Ishikawa, or Kissaki should not be even compared to Ito, because of they all lack consistency, quality, and service level.

The chefs from Sushi Zo West Village are now behind the (massive) sushi counter of Ito. Although this omakase restaurant is the new kid on the block, you wouldn't know it. They clearly know what they're doing, and dinner is a fantastic experience that I highly recommend to anyone for their next omakase. For omakase, I'm looking for a place that I'd love to return to again and again (well, I guess this applies for all restaurants but at this price point it's more high stakes!). Of course the sushi has to be top quality, but the ambiance and the style make the whole package. Ito covers all the bases of a good dining experience: high-quality food, attentive staff, good eating pace, variety, generous portions and little luxuries. When I tried other omakase restaurants, there were always some disappointing pieces (a little chewy or veiny, a little fishy). What is distinct about my meals with Chef Kevin and Chef Masa is that I never had a bad piece. Every bite is top-quality, and that says a lot about the chef's skill. You still get the luxury pieces of otoro, hokkaido uni, wagyu, truffles, caviar - but you will also enjoy every piece in between.A few standouts to me are the baby shrimp (sweeter and more delicate than regular shrimp), the ikura (each pearl is perfect!) and striped jack mackerel (delicate and beautifully presented!).Ambiance: The counter is huge and honestly pretty impressive, giving you plenty of space so you aren't awkwardly eavesdropping on your neighbor's conversation. It's classy and modern with a relaxed atmosphere.Service: Really attentive, and the chefs make it the best experience! Omakase is an intimate experience, so it's such a bonus when the chefs are friendly.
