Delicious upscale setting yet still casual
Very good restaurant. Delicious dinner for two. Upscale setting yet still casual. I didn't like the two seat, long table, with low bench seating. It felt far away and difficult to speak to one another.

Fantastic meal! We came in with 4 adults and 6 kids and took the entire patio. It’s beautiful and it was so cool to watch the street cars pass. From cocktails and appetizers to entrees (the fish with agro dolce in particular) to dessert (oh that mile High pie), it was all incredible. Friendly and gracious service. I was hesitant to eat at a hotel restaurant, but this place is chic, refined and also relaxed. It was a fantastic meal and we may sneak back again before we leave!
Be the first to ReplyGood, but not notable
The decor and atmosphere was beautiful, the service fair, and the food forgettable. The cocktail prices were extreme ($17 for an Old Fashioned!). Wines were in the same vein, $15 a glass. Squash bisque, turtle soup, and Italian rabbit sausage appetizers were good, but not notable. Fettuccine Nero, Gulf Fish, Flounder en papillote were likewise.

Had Sunday brunch with my wife. She really loved the decor (I don’t pretend to be an expert in that area!), and we both loved the shrimp and grits. Highly recommended.

It's pleasant and the service is good. The cuisine isn't inspired, but it's good. The gulf fish with walnuts is a good choice.
Be the first to ReplyGood but a bit of a trip
Very nice restaurant. If you are staying downtown near the French Quarter, however, it is a bit of a trudge. I would not recommend walking so you'll need to take a Lyft/Uber or your own transportation. Honestly, too, while the food was very good there are so many wonderful, indeed exception, places to eat in the central part of NO, I'm not sure that Jack's is worth the trouble. I had the short ribs and they were very good, nothing exceptional but very good. My wife had the fettucine with scallops and the scallops were done so lightly, the almost had a raw taste to them (very large and fat scallops). Staff were very friendly and just seemed to enjoy themselves which adds a lot to dining, I think.

We spent the last month in Louisiana with family eating the best of the best. The crawfish cornbread appetizer was easily in my top three dishes for the entire month. It’s not cornbread, it’s corn cake, and it’s smothered in a buttery, savory, gorgeousness of a crawfish sauce. The canestri pasta is fantastic and truly unique - the menu description doesn’t do it justice. The basque cheesecake is perfect in sweetness and texture. Charming ambiance and a surprisingly elevated menu. Love it.

Great dining experience! Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Anne, Erin, and our sweet waitress with the gorgeous pink glasses. They made enjoyable conversation and took great care of us. Food was delicious and unique. And the atmosphere and decor of the Jack Rose is funky and fun, with its pink room, hanging plant baskets and disco ball! Would recommend to anyone who wants a fun experience in New Orleans.

I loved the atmosphere and the service. Our waitress was very friendly. I love that they have a sister bar with live music.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, a MUST!
Jack Rose is an amazing revamp of the old Carribean Room, a New Orleans favorite. It surpasses the old establishment with new pomp and penache, and the food and service do not disappoint! We ordered cocktails that were delicious, appetizers of cracked potatoes, fried calamari and fried halloumi salad, and our party of six feasted on Gulf Trout Amandine, short ribs Bourguignon, fusili pasta Radiatore with sausage, fried chicken parmesan... For desert, Mile High Pie, of course! and Pear Me Not, their version of bread pudding with a tasty flair! We easily shared. Coffee was first class and a Grasshopper was enjoyed. The entire experience was sublime. My only critique was the music volume......it made it hard to hear folks across the table. But this is a restaurant I look forward to patronizing again and again! A New Orleans delight! Oh, and make it upstairs to the HotTin Bar! Panoramic views of New Orleans you won't soon forget!
