Fantastic Food..beware of server Akbar he’s a dishonest crook!
Food is OUTSTANDING.. our server not so much☹️! We absolutely love coming to this Restaurant . it’s our go to for all special occasions/celebrations, we love coming to Jacobs.. Unfortunately, for us, we had a very dishonest waiter the past few occasions , and we are so unbelievably disappointed that the owners of Jacobs would have somebody like this working for them ..ripping off their customers. His name is Akbar..we had this server the past few times unlucky for us…the first incident he charged us for a ridiculous amount of sparkling and spring water around 10 bottles when maybe I can say honestly we had 2 or 3 . He also added more expensive steaks on the bill as well as added extra alcoholic drinks on our bill as well and when calculated he overcharged us $170-200…on our bill it was $ 850 not including tip…when it should’ve been between $600-$650 before tip. We let it go… The second and third time he did the same thinking we wouldn’t catch him but he tried to add extra items and more expensive steaks again but not as much as he did the first time but we told him we did not order these items please remove them and he did…he really got away with it the first time after that we watched and remembered every single item ordered so he wouldn’t rip us off again… We are so upset about it and when sending an email to the management at Jacobs NOBODY even had the decency to reply back and apologize. This waiter really left a sour taste in our mouths and i really don’t think we will return until at least someone acknowledges this and apologizes! The food again at Jacobs is incredible unfortunately servers like Akbar will destroy the experience and ruin their prestine name very fast if they don’t do anything about it!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing steak
Service was good, but we came for the steak, 3 couples and we all ordered Bone in Strip....at $117 a steak we where underwhelmed to say the least...presented in a cast iron skillet which was not hot, steak was tough and pretty tasteless, called the restaurant the next day before posting this, all I got from the manager is we will note it for next time.....sorry no next time

This is a great restaurant. It is without question the best restaurant I have ever been to in Toronto. Our entire dining experience was exceptional, thank you!

Quite pricey but you get what you pay for. Food was delicious and the service was outstanding. My family and friends had a great time.
Be the first to ReplyPoor excuse of a restaurant
Jacob's has gone so downhill. Prices have increased, and quality and selection have decreased. Service and management are inattentive and uncaring, to say the least. Stick with The Keg - better food and service at a quarter of the price
Be the first to ReplyBest caesar salad and amazing steaks
Came back in April for dinner, we ordered: 7oz Oakleigh Ranch Wagyu - AUS California Cut Striploin💕 22oz Canadian Bone in Ribeye 💕 Jacob's Caesar Salad💕 Beef Tartar💕 Brownies & Jacob's Muffins 💕 Potato Gratin Finally made it to Jacob's after all these years of it being on my steakhouse list and it did not disappoint 🥰 amazing service as expected and everything we ordered was delicious. Beautiful cuts of steak cooked perfectly with a Charred bark and one of the best caesar salads I've ever had. Loved the 3 types of salt that was served with the steaks, sea salt, smoked salt & Charcoal salt! The Muffins you get to take home are a bit too sweet for me but super soft and moist🤤

I must say that the intro was kind of nice and tasty. The bread&butter unique, the steak great, famous duck fat fries worth. Sommelier: partially knowledgeable, the wine list was decent. All in all looked promising (on the good side). The thing that ruined the evening and costed way more than a dinner was the service. The water refilling on such short intervals was bizarre (water stalked). Practically we didn't have any privacy and afraid to drink some water. After we said "thank you it is enough" and further on in the evening, in the key moments of discussion, one of the service team persons popped up, interrupted, and start to asking/ insisting, are we done yet (we were far from done), and if we like to take the rest of the food home. The vibe went down, we felt like they want us out, and it was not polite and devastating. Not a good feeling. So primitive, but not primitivo. On our way out, we got some breakfast muffins. Damage: massive. Take your business talks elsewhere.

Fine dining, impeccable service, different meats of different origins, different marinades at a glance. The Caesar salad table preparation is interesting, the scenery is beautiful but enjoyable

Nice restaurant, we had a great meal, and had some great drinks, we will definitely go back and recommend it to friends too
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service but very noisy
rvice was excellent; Chris was our server and he knew the menu and the beef varieties exceptionally well. Food was very good. While the Caesar salad was very good it was disappointing that the table configuration didn’t allow the table-side preparation to actually be table-side. It was prepared behind the table meaning those with their back to the cart could not easily see it. Another server prepared it yet did not tell us what the ingredients were as he was preparing it. The cheap grocery shelf white egg used was disappointing. I would have expected an organic brown egg in a 5 star restaurant. The noise level was so bad we had to lean forward and talk over the noise to hear one another. Some noise dampening would be nice. The warm seafood tower was delicious and a meal in itself even though it was an appetizer!
Be the first to ReplyPoor food, worse service - avoid
The steak was undercooked, Sent it back and it came back with no noticeable difference, Told the waiter I was displeased with dinner. He threw the bill at me and he stormed away from the table, This is from a so-called first-class restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent, fresh food!
Perfectly cooked ribeye from PEI. Caesar salad made at the table - fresh. Dressing is outstanding. Had oysters to start which I’d recommend. Horseradish was fresh and plentiful. Sommelier was careful to respect budget in his recommendations.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious steaks and great service
We have visited Jacobs a few times and it’s always consistent. Comfortable seating, friendly, knowledgeable staff, great menu. There’s a wide variety of steaks and we always order two different types, which are cut to share. Ours were perfectly cooked and served with three different salt choices and three different sauce choices. You can add foie gras or marrow if you prefer. The duck fat fries are delicious. Lots of sides choices. We tried the salmon tartare and the jumbo shrimp which were both excellent. They also serve warm popovers which is a nice touch and avoids filling up on bread. Good wine list and cocktail options. Jacobs is pricey but doesn’t disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyService Impeccable
We visited Toronto for the weekend and wanted a good steak. We did our share of research and decided on Jacobs and Co. It is fair to say we were thrilled with this choice. The drinks were delicious, the steaks were phenomenal and to top it all, the service was impeccable. If you go, request Chris. He was knowledgeable and attentive and gave all the best suggestions. The server who prepared our salad table side was also knowledgeable and personable. As you walk through the restaurant, all workers clear the way and make a path for you like you’re royalty. Enjoy this experience and come hungry!
Be the first to Replyexpensive & worthy
we ordered 300 days aged steak & 45 days aged steak. The Caesar salad is amazing, vinegar, beef bacon and olive oil are of high quality. And 45 days ribeye is really good, with crispy surface and fantastic taste. The special meat 300-days-aged is also perfectly cooked, but I don't like this. For me, It's totally over aged. It's 99% out of water and taste like rubber. It flavor is beef sausage or ham with farmy and most smelly cheese. If someone is curious about that just have some beef sausage with heavy smell cheese.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food! Great service!
We had a fantastic evening with great food and great service. We sat at the bar so we could watch the Jays game and Ashley was our server. Like a breath of fresh air. Ashley was wonderful and truly enjoyed being there. It’s nice to see someone at work enjoying what they do. The food was fantastic and came out timely as we asked.

Good overall experience. Ambiance is nice service is excellent. There was some live music ( pianist ) on the bottom floor, we ate upstairs. We were served a huge complementry bread item with flavoured butter - very good - had oysters which were also enjoyable The caesar salad was made table side ( came with an optional anchovy ) it was ok but to be honest ive had better - one portion is more than enough to share and they will devide it into two bowls for you. I had the 28oz bone in ribeye i belive from alberta. It was excellent. It was serves with three compleme tary sauces in the side including a chimmichuri which was great an asaian inspired sauce , and somesort of blue cheese spread. My hisband ordered the fish (bass) - it was not good. It was fishy and such a waste at $88 - i do not recommend it. This is a steakhouse and i suggest coming for steak. Where other steakhouses still have many other options they do not. One chicken and one fish option. The appetizer menu is also very limited. The meals were served with 3 fancy salts in little bowls. For sides we had the potato puree. - it was huge - jacibs iffers most of the sides in 1/2 portions which i think is great. The 1/2 portion of it is more than enough for 2 people. Unfortunately i found it pasty and unflavourful. I added some salt and butter. They also had mushroom risotto as a side ( i did not order this but if you dont eat meat you could have this for a main ) they also had 2 types of pasta available for sides ( these three items not available in 1/2 portions ) ine was vegetarian i believe so that coukd also be ate as a main. We oedered the braised beef pasta. It wasnt what i was exoecting but it was ok ( if there was a sauce it was minimal / white ) we didnt eat everything and they were hapoy to pack things up even the extra sauces and specialty salts. For dinks i started with a sangia ( holding in to that last bit of summer ). It wasnt good it basically just tastes like red wine - but garnished with a candied cherry which was nice. My husband had rum punch which was ok and garnished with a flower. It looked pretty. Around $20-25 each The wines by the glass are around $30+ for 9oz selection limited. We decided to skip dessert. But were emserved complementary petit fours - chocolate and seemed to be infused with some type of floral element. We also recieved two complementary wrapped muffins to go. Although not everything was great. We still enjoyed ourselves and the meal

I started visiting Jacobs for me and my wifes 2nd wedding anniversary in 2014. Returned each anniversary until we had our kid in 2018, also brought my mother for a visit which she enjoyed (shes hard to please) and my inlaws who never been somewhere as nice.. all visits were amazing and well worth. The popovers were amazing and the table side caesar is always worth getting. You can order a half side since the sides can be a bit large which is nice.. Duck fat french fries are also a worth try. I have recommended this restaurants to many friends and glad they managed to weather Covid lockdowns!
Be the first to ReplyService is amazing, food is average
I recently went to this restaurant and I had mix feelings about the experience. The service is amazing and there is nothing to complain about it. The food is another story. I ordered a strip loin from Australia and I also tried a 60 day aged ribeye. Both stakes were ok, but they were nothing special for the price we paid. I understand stakes need to be aggressively seasoned, but they were way too salty. We ordered several side dishes for the table and some of them were amazing while others were not good. The fries were way too salty and they had what I call a weird seasoning. It was not truffle, it was more like star anise that I don’t like. I also tried Shrimp as entree and although they are big that may justify the price, they were overcooked to my taste. Dauphinoise (scallop potatoes) is a different story. The dish is amazing. Potatoes were cooked perfectly and the combination of cheeses and cream was glorious. I tasted few other things and this is my recommendation: Baked Oyster, Dauphinoise and the 60-day aged rib-eye. It is a good place to see pretty people, but I would rather spend money in other restaurants were food is better.

The wife and I love this place, the food is fantastic and the selection is outstanding. Staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is perfect every time
Be the first to Replynot worth the $$$ but very good
The service was excellent. The staff truly care and are attentive without being overbearing...the atmosphere was great...modern steakhouse...comfortable contemporary decor. The piano bar was not open but looked like it would be a great experience.
The Caesar salad was very good, among the best we've had.
The Sea Bass was incredibly bland, although well cooked, considering the amount of grease the skin should have been crisp...it was not.
The 60 day Ribeye was tender but not cooked as requested, and relatively bland. We have had better. They do offer a variety of salts and side dips if you use them the flavours are better.
They sent us home with the tastiest chocolate muffins we have ever tasted...
For the price we expected better food.
Never-the-less I would go back, I would love to try the seafood towers both warm and cold...they looked incredible...but would not order the fish and steak again.
Rib eye!
One of my favorite places.Excellent food and wine list!We had rib eye and t-bone steak.Fast service and clean toilets!
Be the first to ReplyFood was perfect. Service not so much
The steak was perfect. I had the Filet. WOW WOW WOW. Was a bit upset with the service when I first got to the place. I was early by about 15 min. Seemed like I put them out. The food made up for it. Fantastic.

Fantastic steakhouse, best in Canada. Not only was the steak great, but the Caesar salad was very special. Had a Canadian bone-in ribeye, huge and cooked perfectly. Nice that they provide interesting salts and sauces complimentary.
