Complete garbage
Drink a rip off (if you like $30) drinks like a strip club. Spoke to the manager who was complete jerk and the staff is no different , I have tons of friends frequently going here and that’s about to end. Great job jerks. Spent $250to be treated like low lives
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food, Great Location
was in town for a friends Celebration of Life ceremony and this was his favorite place. The service was quick, efficient and friendly and the food and drinks were off the hook good. Recommend a visit if you are in town
Be the first to ReplyMexican upscale dining at its best
Javier's is a Mexican restaurant located at the Irvine Spectrum Center. They offer upscale Mexican cuisine and provide a stylish dining experience. The restaurant includes a variety of traditional Mexican dishes and a wide selection of tequilas. The restaurant has a great ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is great for family meetups or romantic dinners. We always prefer the patio seating.

Good Mexican food with decent prices on steaks. I ordered the Filet Mignon and is was very good. Not the best, but very good! The chips and salsa were great and the service was not to shabby! I would defiantly eat here again!
Be the first to ReplyNot worth your money & worst service!
Terrible service!!!! Do NOT EAT HERE! Food is mediocre at best and over priced! There are SOOOO MANY better places to eat! Go to SOL Cocina... Carmelita's... anywhere but here!! Managers are smug. Loud loud loud... if you are coming for a business lunch... dinner... AVOID this place at ALL COST!
Be the first to ReplyTacos are a joke.
I really can not get over how basic and bland the two taco combo is here. When I seen the price of $34 I was thinking hmm these must be really good especially since it's just two tacos and a couple sides. WRONG! When the tacos arrived I was in shock, the meat was bland, dry and chewy, the taco shells were deep fried so badly they were hard as rocks, feels like I chipped one of my teeth on them, one of my molars to be exact. The toppings were bland and straight from a pre packaged bag, nothing made fresh. I have seen better tacos at the local taqueria to be honest. Don't get me started on the kids quesadilla, that thing was so oily it was dripping oil when you lifted it from the plate, from all the low quality cheese they use on it. I only let my daughter have a little bit of it because I didn't want to taint her stomach with this filth. I honestly didn't even want to pay for this food but my wife wanted to leave and didn't want to go through the hassle, so $120 for two tacos plates, a kid quesadilla and one drink, what a rip off. I mean this place has some nerve charging this kind of price for this garbage food. When management reads this, heed my words this place has some serious food quality issues and it is real bad.
Be the first to ReplyVery pricey loud Mexican
Contrary to many other reviews of this restaurant, we found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. The checkin process is a bit redundant and strange, but functional. Our group of six all enjoyed their meals, but it was unanimous that prices were over the top for Mexican. Also over the top was the noise level. Very difficult to have a conversation with those at your table. Return not likely.
Be the first to ReplyWaiter needs to be trained on good customer service. Very disappointed.
I went there with family to celebrate my Godson's college graduation dinner. Place is beautiful; however, their customer service needs a lot of improvement. Food is average and way overpriced. Two shrimp enchiladas, rice & beans $40! A slice of guava cheesecake $14! Are you kidding me? Margaritas$24! Towards the end my brother and the rest of us wanted to have separate checks and the waiter said "nope"! that was impossible to do. It would've been ok if he said it in a more respectful way, the waiter had an attitude and he sent us the manager. I hate altercations specialty when we're celebrating a beautiful & memorable occasion. Well, needless to say that was my 1st and last time I go there. Very disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyTaco Bell yes Javier’s no
Find my family have six we’re celebrating my 80th birthday we had six different dishes one dish superior the other five were subpar the margaritas were water down they Chose making more money and Not delivering what we paid for this restaurant chooses shorting the customers to the point of Discrediting their industry do not support this outright ly
Be the first to Reply$24 margaritas?
Last time I reviewed Javiers I was put off by the the $17 margaritas. Well now they are $24! Are you kidding me? 3 of us, NO FOOD, 3 margs later $216. $24 EACH for a skinny Cadillac. I would recommend uhhh, possibly, not getting those unless you dont care about getting ripped off. Otherwise go for it! I have never seen a $24 margarita anywhere in OC (which aint cheap) or anywhere else fo that matter unless it was some crazy high end tequila. This was not. Bring a hip flask of tequila and spend your money on the food...
Be the first to ReplyModern contemporary Mexico bistro
Taste :4.3/5
Environment: 4.7/5
Service:4.0/5
Such a Modern Mexican Bistro place.
Stays pretty crowded for weekends hence reservations are critical essential via open table.
Since it’s pretty busy over the weekend since we reserved the table but still need to take a bit time to be seats and food requires patient to wait ( 20-30 mins ) on the weekend .
Since it’s our st time to 1st time visit the place and it’s a bit difficult to decide what’s the best through the big menu , thus we asked our waiter for recommendation… but he refused to provide ideas rather than self -exploration….
I’m pretty satisfied with food we ordered but it’s pity we missed than chance to try their signature …..
Better than before
It has been remodeled and expanded, much larger outdoor seating area. Food is good and service is excellent. Prices are on the higher side but one par for the area.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Mexican Fusion food
Excellent Mexican Fusion food and sipping tequila. We went there with friends and family. Loved the Fajita as well. The salsa, guacamole and tuna ceviche was excellent. The only ding that I can think of is that it is expensive - especially for the sipping tequila.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing service
We called for booking and the lady said there will be no waiting. We drove for 30 min to reach the Irvine spectrum.
The lady took our name and asked us to wait for 5 min to get our table ready.
While waiting I went inside to wash my hands, and surprisingly the manager refused to give my husband the table cos I wasn’t with him at the moment.
We showed him how upswing we r in a polite way and that we will mention this on TripAdvisor. He didn’t mind at all and said “have a great day sir” and turned and walked inside the restaurant.

Well oiled machine
Will return. Can’t fault anything.
Very organized.
The food is fantastic. Service was personalized and attentive which I enjoy.
amazing Mexican food
Pros:
- nice interior designs
- secluded booths for privacy
- good selection of food
- everything appears to be made from scratch
- very friendly staff
- large portions
- food came out fast
- everything tasted really good
Cons:
- asked for appetizer sized Quesadilla but were served full size dish at full prize
- super flimsy to-go boxes that caused lots of spillage in our car which led to food being thrown away/fed to dogs
- pretty noisy environment
- expensive
Ladies Get Away
Went to enjoy the newly renovated restaurant that had been written up in the Irvine paper. Our server was Edwin B, fabulous personality. My enchilada had flavor, however, it was not hot enough to melt the cheese inside, it seemed it could have been taken out of the freezer and separated from the tortilla, for the price, it was disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, drinks and service, but bad luck with first dates
The title says it all, lol. I have been coming to Javier's since the family owned their original shop in Laguna Beach. The food has always been delicious, the drinks are enjoyable(especially the different margaritas) and the ambience and service are above average. However, I have had crappy prospects here when it comes to finding potential girlfriends, to no fault of the restaurant. On more than one occasion, when it was decided that first(and only) dates would occur here, the girls would deliberately show up earlier than the meeting time, order drinks and then cut the date short after only 2-4 minutes of my arrival due to some bullcrap excuse and then leave me with a large bill for drinks I didn't even get to enjoy passing the time with them for, without even getting the chance to learn more about each other or have a potential decent conversation with. Keep up the good work though Javier's, it's not your fault that some women are shallow leeches. If I could rate these women, they'd get negative points.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, very good food
I liked the service and attention of this place, but I liked even more the food, I tried what I believe it's called a Tampiquena plate and the meat was really juicy.
Be the first to ReplyDissappointed in my longtime favorite restaurant
I have been a long time patron of Javiers in both Irvine and
Las Vegas and have always had a stellar service and food experience.
I know many of the servers and busboys due to the fact that I frequent
the Irvine location so much.
My experience on 2/1 around 2 pm was nowhere near what I am used
to from this place.
I came in with my Mother and Sister and excused myself to the restroom. My mother asked for an extra basket of chips since I always like my own chips and salsa to myself. It has never been an issue before.
I got back to the table, the chips werent there and so I waited and then asked for them again. After some time, they still weren't there and by the that time the one banana I had for breakfast was gone and I had no other food that day in anticipation of coming here so I was quite hungry. So, I ask again. The server said, 'oh, they're coming.' in a very non-chalant way.
I then patiently waited another 10 minutes as I observed him go to the chip station himself and bring out a basket of chips and set them on another table near me, to a couple who were "knee deep" in their entrees and didn't require chips at this stage of their meal. At this point, I feel the waiter is being rude and passive aggressive with me.
So, at that time, he comes over and wants to take our orders. I ask him again about the chips and he rudely says 'they are busy, they'll get them to you when they get a chance'.
What????????
No apologies, no 'I'll check on it for you', no, 'they are cooking them, they should be out any second now'...Nothing. Just straight rudeness. I could not believe it.
As he was saying that, the chips finally arrived and he rudely sat them in front of me as if to imply that I was in the wrong for bothering him with this request in the first place.
We proceed to place our orders, but at this point I'm convinced I won't enjoy my meal with him as my server. Soon after, I noticed him talking to the manager, no doubt giving 'his side of the story' about this mean, overly demanding customer who asked him multiple times for chips. When the manager reached me, he listened in a disinterested way to what I had to say and clearly had already decided in favor of his server. He was so disinterested and silent that I had to ask him, "I'm sorry, but am I wrong for bringing this to your attention". He replied, "No. We'll make sure you have your chips and salsa." And then proceeded to walk off.
I. Was. Stunned.
My family and I decided that since both the server and the management were not deserving of our money and business to walk out.
We passed them at the hostess station and I told them to cancel our orders we will eat somewhere else.
We did.
We proceeded to Brio and had a lovely experience. The type of experience I expected from Javiers.
