This was the nicest afternoon tea I had.
The sandwiches are substantial and I overheard someone ask if anyone ever finished. Apparently me. Sandwiches are much larger than anything I've had at other places. The desserts portion was definitely the highlight for me, but I would recommend you go with someone who enjoys desserts because my bf was not a fan of the pistachio or the carrot cake. I didn't like the 70% cacao chocolate fondue but I've been told some people straight up eat it with a spoon. The teas were fragrant. The area can be a little crammed but we went on a nice summer day so the AC was welcomed. Service gets nicer. I guess they start to warm up to you? And it felt very casual here. Just pray you don't sit next to a crying baby. The hotel it's attached to is very nice and there is a bar they recommend you to wait at if you're early for your reservation. It is going to cost a pretty penny though.

FancyAF but so worth it. The vibe is really contemporary and makes you feel like you're going out somewhere special. I loved the service and feeling totally taken care of while dining on tastyAF fare. The roasted vegetables were so good. Loved my salmon filet too. Expertly cooked. Then the desserts were the perfect meal ender. Would 100% recommend this anyone coming to London. The best from start to finish.

I ordered the grilled octopus for starters and the sea bass for main course and it was amazing! I took a dig at the tuna tartare and monkfish which my colleague ordered as well - absolutely delicious!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Afternoon Tea location.
They obviously knew that were that we were tourist and explained the entire process to us. They made great tea recommendations including having us pair the heavier teas with our sandwiches and the lighter teas with our deserts. I recommend the earl grey with milk and the The A Laopera. So delicious!!! The sandwiches are light but filling. My favorite was the smoked salmon with cream cheese. The egg was also very yummy. The deserts were unimpressive , but by the time our server brought the desert tower, we were stuffed. It makes for a pretty picture for social media. The glass of champagne is definitely worth the additional charge. We opted for the regular champagne as we could not justify the extra charge for that.

My approach to Jean George restaurants is similar to how some people feel about Pokemon: gotta catch them all. I've been to almost all of his NY restaurants at least once and his Vegas restaurant twice. So I was excited to dine at his London restaurant on a recent visit. I'm also not rich, so a dinner at Jean Georges is a humongous splurge for me. I decided on an afternoon tea, because I love tea and it fit best into my schedule and budget. How much do I love tea? I had three afternoon teas at different restaurants over the course of my 14 day trip, and Jean Georges blew them all away. The dining room is bright and airy, with a wall of windows and a contemporary design. Comfortable benches and plush chairs encourage sitting and chatting while enjoying a leisurely meal. I lingered for two hours and was never rushed or ignored. Service was top notch: friendly, accessible but not overbearing, and keen to ensure guests were happy and well taken care of. The table behind me was particularly difficult, but their server maintained an upbeat and helpful attitude the whole time, no matter what they threw at him. The star of this restaurant is the food. None of the other afternoon teas I tried even came close. Beginning with the amuse bouche and carrying through to the last sweet, each bite was enticing and surprising. It's a lot of food (and you can ask for second helpings of the tea sandwiches), so I ended up taking much of the desserts home. They held up and even couple of days later were amazingly delicious. The tea was also the least expensive of the three I tried and included a complimentary glass of champagne.Do yourself a favor if you're looking for a great afternoon tea, skip the more traditional options and head here. You won't regret it.

Absolutely amazing meal! Had the crispy salmon sushi, fresh crab crostini, poppy seed crusted salmon and cinnamon apple for dessert. The service was excellent.
