Wonderful anniversary dinner
Came to visit the new location for our anniversary dinner. We were WELL taken care of by Pedro, as always! He is such a wonderful, attentive, and entertaining person to be served by. And the food never disappoints.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent in every way
Big fan of Jeff Ruby’s restaurants, having dined in Nashville and at the Precinct in Cincinnati and now in downtown Cincinnati. Very convenient to the theater too. We had a couple of glasses of the Bella Union Cabernet Sauvignon that were excellent. We shared the dry aged 30 ounce bone in Ribeye with a side of creamed spinach. The steak was outstanding! We finished up with a taste of the vanilla ice cream and a cup of coffee. Off then to the theater…..

Great place. Good environment, great staff. That being said, the food was awful. It's one of the worst steaks I've ever had. Horrible cut of meat. They cooked the filet about right but was not enjoyable. Oysters were not good as well. Very disappointing.

Wonder meal and excellent service. I went Friday evening a piano player & a band was in the lounge. Beautiful restaurant decor & menu is easy to read.

Super fine dining in downtown, great steak, really cool atmosphere, obviously not a cheap meal but same prices as other steakhouses, A lot of awesome desserts and the service was top notch as you would expect
Be the first to ReplySteak and Carrot Cake
This is the best steakhouse I have eaten at. The food is absolutely fabulous and the service matches. We sat in the bar area with a live band playing. We had a great table. We started with sushi and cob salads! Wow the salads are amazing.I had a Bone in Ribeye and the wife had a filet. Both cooked perfectly, paired with asparagus, sautéed mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. We had carrot cake for desert and it was so rich moist and scrumptious!! This was a perfect meal. If I am near a Jeff Ruby I guarantee we will have dinner there. Oh don’t forget to make a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyHAIL RUBY!!!
Horrible service and the steak was very average I have had better at Ponderosa Steak House. Extremely overpriced on everything and a almost cult like feel about the owner Jeff Ruby!! AND HE HAS DONE WHAT?!? PT BARNUM STLYE ADVERTISING FOR RUN OF THE MILL STEAKS AND FOOD? I ACTUALLY CUT THE DINNER SHORT WHEN JEFF RUBY WALKED IN AND SUDDENLY THE CUSTOMER'S BECAME SECONDARY HIS EGO AND VANITY WERE DISGUSTING AND NOT THE EXAMPLE I WANTED TO SHOW MY CHILDREN!! IT REALLY WOULDN'T HAVE SURPRISED ME IF ALL HIS EMPLOYEES WOULD HAVE STOPPED WHEN HE WALKED IN AND SAID "HAIL RUBY" ALMOST HAD THE GERMANY 1933 VIBES WITH "FUHRER RUBY" IN FULL CONTROL!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed. Mediocre food sold at very high prices. Did not live up to hype.
I have to say I was very disappointed in Jeff Ruby's. We heard people rave about this steak house when we arrived to town. Walking by we saw how opulent and busy it was and thought this was a good sign. Reviewing the menu we noted the prices were very high. A plain steak (no sides or toppings) ranged from $65.00 USD to $168.00 USD. We were a table of five. We passed on appetizers but with meals, sides, toppings, and wine our bill was in excess of $1200.00 USD. Surprisingly the meals were at best mediocre. Nothing to rave or write home about. I have had much better steaks at much less lavish restaurants and paid far less. My co-workers had varied meals such as the pork chop, salmon and a number of others. All agreed the meals were at best mediocre. The staff were professional and friendly and the restaurant is very nice but this doesn't justify the price. Unless you want to make an impression by taking someone to an opulent restaurant I would suggest saving your money and avoiding Jeff Ruby's. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. For the price charged you'd expect nothing less than the best and unfortunately it didn't come close to that.

The food lived up to the very expectations. Service at the bar with Katrina and Rob at the table were first rate. I ended up being a solo diner and arrived early hoping to grab a table but understood the restaurant was full but could wait in the bar, or be seated outside. Not a problem, I was early! What I found us was when I was seated at my reservation time, I counted 9 empty tables in the dining room. Found that a little odd…anyway, I loved the fact they had a great live band in the bar! I was even more appreciative of sound level that still allowed for easy conversations to occur with a very friendly crowd.

Be patient to reserve a table at this restaurant. We booked over 8 weeks ahead. Convenient valet parking on premises. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted, our reservation recognized and seated. Staff service is friendly, respectful, knowledgeable, attentive with staff dressed upscale. The multi-room layout and tables provide for some intimate dining, yet it still feels busy. The noise level is acceptable to maintain a conversation at the table. The extensive food and drink menus provide something for everyone. We enjoyed our food, served right, attractively.

We always love Jeff Ruby Steakhouse. But tonight was extra special. In the world recently, where customer service seems to be a thing of the past, it is alive and real here.
Thank you to Michael, the most amazing general manager. Kat, wonderful bartender and Joseph, who all made our experience so amazing and comfortable. Always love the food, always love the experience, but tonight was especially good.
Simply Extraordinary
Drove 7 hours from NC to see a college basketball game. Returned to our downtown hotel and walked over to Jeff Ruby’s. Walked in just 15 minutes before closing, with no reservation, and they took us right in! The service was exceptional. Sydney and Anthony took such good care of us! Our steaks were perfectly cooked and the sides… oh wow!! Mac and cheese!! You MUST TRY the mac and cheese! We’ve been to a lot of high end steak houses… but this one tops them all! We would drive the 7 hours again just to come back to Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, and of course we would ask for Sydney and Anthony again. …And order dessert even if you have to take it home for later!
Be the first to ReplySimply, The Best!
Everything about Jeff Ruby's is incredible. Even if they didn't serve food, you'd walk out of this place feeling as if you had the best meal you've ever had. Well, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but the service is THAT good. And don't get me started on the food. Melt in your mouth steak, Potatoes Anna, Freddy Salad...one bite after another the taste simply keeps on giving. If I had one choice of a place to dine for a special (or any) occasion, it's Jeff Ruby's. There's not even a close second choice. Kudos to Michael Whitley and the entire staff for a job well done. Worth every dollar!
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Dining Experience. One of my top 3 Steak Houses in the World.
Jeff Ruby’s is a must visit establishment and they are in my 3 Steakhouses in the world. I travel extensively and eat out constantly for business meetings…fine dining establishments, 5 start restaurants, and Jeff Ruby’s is worthy of the praise. Food and service is impeccable. Visit and thank me later.

We took a chance on getting a table since there were no reservations available for a busy Friday night. We managed to catch one seat at the bar and one of the bartenders (with the help of accommodating patrons), got everyone to shift so we could fit in. I'm partial to a cocktail known as a "black Manhattan", which uses a liqueur called Averna. Many places don't carry it. Not only did they have it, the bartender went downstairs to get it. Both of these acts of service (and kindness), set the stage for a lovely meal; great steaks, wonderful sides and a good Malbec to go with it all. It's not cheap but it's not at all out of line for an upscale steakhouse..

I really didn't know what to expect when we got here, I heard you eat here for the food and the experience you get from start to finish. I must say it didn't disappoint!! It was by far one of the best meals we have ever eating at a restaurant. Everything we got was 5 stars. Great steaks, top shelf cocktails, awesome sides and next level desserts. We live near Lexington, KY. But we were told if we're gonna go then treat ourself right and come to the Cincy location. It definitely was a treat and they have a great staff that is knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be back in the near future. Can't wait to see what else they have to offer!!

Great food. Excellent service. Definitely pricey so nice place for a work dinner. Was loud for our big group so maybe better for 4 or less people.

We visited on Sunday night for my wife’s birthday dinner. We brought our 3 children with us. As we entered, we were warmly greeted by several members of the staff/management. Qw were seated in the rear room of the restaurant, which was the perfect balance of not too much noise, but comfortable enough to talk and laugh freely.
Our waiter was John, and he was fantastic in every way. Extremely polite and engaging, talked to the kids about what they wanted, gave great suggestions and answered all our questions. Water and drinks constantly stayed filled and we had no wants that were not filled during our time there.
Our girls had the petite filets with roasted garlic butter, which they enjoyed very much along with the potatoes Anna. To note, one of our girls has a gluten allergy, and they provided an entire menu of gluten free foods. That was very nice. Our 10 year old son had the JR burger (The best he’d ever had, even better than the ones I make at home for him!). His fries were crispy outside and soft on the inside, perfectly made.
My wife and I had cocktail shrimp to start, served with a large portion of cocktail sauce. They were fresh and firm. We then had the salads, I had the the Freddie, which was again huge and delicious. My wife had the Aronoff which she loved. She said she could order just salad and dessert and be filled. For main course she had the Steak Collinsworth, and thoroughly enjoyed it along with the mac and cheese. I had the aged cowboy ribeye and it was delicious, and more than I could finish. They boxed up our leftovers for us.
For her birthday John brought a great little dessert sampler trio with a candle. We also ordered the butter pie and the cheesecake. They were both fantastic, creamy, sweet and delicious.
For the price, not something we can have on a regular basis, but highly recommended for special occasions or a rare treat.
Fantastic meal and service
Everything was utterly fantastic, food, ambiance, chandies, drinks, and the service. Tony was probably the best waiter I’ve ever met. Escorts to the restrooms (beware tiny toilets though!) was a first. They even offered to split up meals before they brought them out which was so nice. We had the tuna flash, wedge salad (holy loads of blue cheese), sea bass and filet, Brussels, Mac and cheese and creme brûlée. 50 miles to Cuba was an amazing drink. These Texans enjoyed every second. Tony needs a raise. 😉

Excellent service, wonderful atmosphere. It’s old school but not drab and dreary. Save room for desert, they are gigantic. Wish they held a dress code. T shirts and shorts, but I guess they have to kick out the entire Bengals team who likes to dine there. Wonderful music, beautiful dining room, captains wear formal jackets and the managers look the part and then we have t shirts and shorts. Guess that is what everyone is doing now unless you belong to a swank country club.
