Always terrific
Always delightful. Their food is consistently very tasty snd their service uniformly timely and delightful. The outside seating has cover from rain and heaters when chilly. Everything we have ordered has been well-prepared and delicious. Be prepared to be conflicted after deciding on a menu item and then hearing the specials. The mussels are terrific, the halibut and prime rib are excellent. This is definitely a โgo-toโ place for us.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere, fantastic fireside drinks area
Not seeking a fine dining experience, we had drinks by the fire aprรจs-ski. Ahh, we practically melted into the couches by the fantastic central fireplace. Highly recommend for that experience.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed โฆ. would not go back
First off went specifically for prime rib on Thursday. Called in advance โWill you have prime rib tonight?โ. Answer โYesโ. Ordered prime rib but heard this from waitress โWeโre out of prime ribโ. Ended up with two uneventful meals. No where near as good as the old place. Nice building but would not repeat. Cancelled my reservation for July after Summer theater. Many places in the area are better and cheaper. Too bad.

We ordered 2 soups, water and a coke and shared a steak dinner. Cost $120. We were celebrating a birthday which was shared with staff but no treat for the birthday boy.

Wonderful ambiance, terrific menu and staff. Nothing like a heady topper while hanging out by the indoor fire pit. A must try

Be the first to ReplyGood food, friendly service, great atmosphere
We went Saturday night just so I could have the prime rib for my birthday, but they ran out! (They also did not mention my birthday even though I wrote that it was when I made the reservation on-line.) (You have to give a credit card when you reserve on-line too.) Anyway, I had the steak medium rare. It was decent, but a little tough. Not great, but good. They need sharper/better steak knives. (Wooden handles bread germs. And they were very dull.) The butternut squash soup was yummy. Others enjoyed their meals. The molten chocolate cake with caramel ice cream was AMAZING, but small. Not too small, but I was sharing it, so it seemed small, lol. SOOOOO since they were out of prime rib, and they only serve it on Thursday and Saturday nights, we went back for it tonight (the following Thursday). It was tender, and tasty, but a little tough to cut again; and I had a blob of fat at the end. It was a generous portion with good mashed potatoes and root vegetables. I wish they would have tossed in a green veggie instead for taste and color balance. My husband had the beef bourguignon, which looked small but was not really. He had the apple strudel for dessert which was served warm and smelled wonderful. He almost licked the plate; so it was good. Both times we sat at the same table in the little alcove that is painted with a lovely mural and seemed more quiet and intimate. There were some bench seats there. The fire pit in the middle is awesome! Our waiter from Jamaica, Ian, was really nice. It was a little noisy, but not too bad. (I think most restaurants are too noisy though.) We will return as we have a ski house nearby.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome meal in the lodge!
Wonderful Vermont lodge, close to three ski resorts, is a perfect setting for a drink and/or meal. The mezze plate and the Bayley Hazen blue cheese salad were fresh, healthful and tasty. The butternut squash soup was glorious. The onion soup was beautifully rich, with generous amounts of dark sweet onions. The duck was wonderfully prepared medium rare; juicy and tender with no excess fat. The homemade maple ice cream and molten lava cake topped off a prefect meal. Sarah was professional and friendly; one of the best servers we've ever had. Finally, the bartender was affable and very helpful in securing us another reservation and giving us a history of the lodge.

The experience exceeded our expectations. The decor is of a comfy lodge setting and we were pleasantly surprised by a very well prepared meal with refined tastes and healthy and hearty ingredients. We were able to get a table next to the wonderful fireplace and stayed very cozy and warm. The service was fast and friendly and I would definitely stop by here again.

Lodge atmosphere that features a moderately priced menu. The scallops were excellent. Romantic restaurant which is great for couples
Be the first to ReplyLove Lodge Living
Just returned from a four night stay at Johnnyโs Seesaw Lodge. My husband was attending a two-day fly fishing course at Orvis in Manchester, VT and, while it might have not been the closest place to stay, it was perfect. We stayed in The Lodge building in the Cherry Room which was a living room/bedroom suite. Great set up for me to head back to after dropping my husband off to workshop and kicking back while he was in class. French doors open to a deck area for all of the five rooms on the second floor of the lodge which was wonderful. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished and designed well, and bed was so comfortable. Easy check in and check out and very responsive owners. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning if and when Iโm ever in this area again.
