Been here a few times with my family.
The decor inside is very warm and inviting and the outside is very picturesque with a large pond and fire pit. Food overall is tasty. However, the portion size is very small (duck). I Ordered the duck entrée and as a petite woman I was still hungry after eating the whole meal. I was disappointed when the waiter brought my entrée to the table with two small slices of duck breast along with a few pieces of vegetables. Price point is similar to other restaurants around the area however, for a duck entrée at The Social House, which is nearby, they are far more generous.

have been going to Seesaw's for probably forty years and through two owners. the revived Seesaw's is a massive improvement in that the old Seesaw's was falling down and the restored version is beautiful. the problem is the kitchen. when it is busy, the quality goes right in the basement. yes, the French Dip is great. unfortunately, two times in a row, the Wiener schnitzel was downright awful; cooked to death and flavorless. we almost always sit at the bar and with only one bartender working both bar and service bar, the service suffered badly. food arrived within five minutes of the appetizer, no possibility of a second drink until meal was finished and two dirty glasses in a row. avoid any time the place is busy...
Be the first to ReplyI live nearby, and this is our go to quick evening out.
There are always tables except on busy holiday weekends. Everybody's really nice and I love the old Timey history of the building with the murals and the enormous center fireplace.. The food is very good as well. Don't come here if you want artfully presented and curated plates, but you will be delighted with their food the steaks, the fish, the poutine (an appetizer??), the desserts are all very good. Truly a place fitting to the neighborhood . We love it. The bar scene is good as well. The drinks are ample and stiff! Friends of mine, who have young kids like to take their families down to the hut in the spring mmer, which has a pond nearby and simple food like beers burgers and fries. I've never stayed at the place, but hear it's very good

All the food in the area are overpriced in my opinion so they are on par with all the restaurants around. The food is pretty good though and the restaurant is comfortable.

This Prime Rib Dip Sandwich only available on Friday nights is my favorite thing at Johnny Seesaw's without a doubt. Pair that sandwich with a Cloud drop IPA and you're in heaven. But they sell out early so try and make it there before 7:30-8pm.
Be the first to ReplyAlways delightful.
Their food is consistently very tasty snd their service uniformly timely and delightful. The outside seating has cover from rain and heaters when chilly. Everything we have ordered has been well-prepared and delicious. Be prepared to be conflicted after deciding on a menu item and then hearing the specials. The mussels are terrific, the halibut and prime rib are excellent. This is definitely a "go-to" place for us.
Be the first to ReplyMy family and I have been going here for over a decade.
It has changed owners since we originally started coming here, and unfortunately it has been slowly going downhill. The menu is nowhere near as interesting as it used to be. About half of our entrees were good (enough), and the other half were very bland. I've never had salmon that tasted like air until tonight. Our server was very helpful and attentive, five stars for her. Drinks came fairly quickly but chef wouldn't fire appetizers until all of our food was in, which greatly rushes dinner. Coming from someone with restaurant industry experience - this isn't necessary and definitely makes dining with children more difficult. We will continue attempting to come here after skiing because of the nice vibe, but probably will just grab a drink and eat dinner elsewhere.

The food, the service, and the atmosphere was absolutely spectacular! The staff was so welcoming and the food they cook is sensational. Had the prime rib and it was unbelievable. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Be the first to ReplyMy family was recently in Vermont for a fall weekend
My family was recently in Vermont for a fall weekend getaway. We needed a Saturday night dinner spot for 6 diners and I was able to secure a late reservation at Johnny Seesaw's. The restaurant has a modern and cozy vibe. We were seated under a cool mural that was originally painted 80 years ago. Our waitress Emily mentioned that she recently started working there but was a true professional throughout the meal. The menu has a lot of nice choices. I really enjoyed the poutine appetizer, the duck gravy, cheese curds, and fries were perfect together. My wife enjoyed the beet salad and my daughters liked the pretzel appetizer. I went with the halibut special and was very happy with the way it was prepared. The rest of my family was also happy with their entrees.Johnny Seesaw's was a nice place to spend a Saturday night.

We were early so began with a beer and cider from The Hut and sat by the fire outside. It has a great vibe and I can imagine during ski season it's a great spot to drop in. You can also get a s'mores kit for the fire pits! Next went up to the restaurant for dinner where the decor is cozy cabin with a fantastic round seating area around a big fireplace as well. There is also a small bar area. There is outdoor seating on the deck with an impressive heating system on the ceiling. I'd encourage reservations. I have the impression with the staff challenges they are careful not to overbook the restaurant so everyone goes away happy... I think that's a good policy. Our waiter was great (tall guy with beard thank you!) and had a glass of wine and a beer in hand within minutes. We were there early which I'm sure helped. We shared a beet salad -- it was so good I'm going to try to recreate that dish at home. I had the salmon and my partner the prime rib special. Both were excellent. Ended with a Happy Birthday to me mudslide dessert. The staff are all hard working and it's not easy with all the understaffing experienced everywhere. Our waiter told us how hard the chef and crew work behind the scenes, gathering mushrooms during the day and sourcing great local produce. We tip waitstaff generously. We also tipped the chef and crew with the 'buy them a beer' suggestion you'll find at the end of the menu. As you leave you can ring the bell at the bar where they open the door to the kitchen so they can hear that they're appreciated, too. I loved that.

Stayed at the lodge and had to try the restaurant! The bolognese was delicious and filling! For the appetizer, we got the hummus. The pita bread was made fresh, it paired really well with the hummus. I think it might've been beet(?) hummus. There is plenty room for parking. I recommend seating outdoors if the weather is nice. All the employees were very welcoming and kind.
Be the first to ReplyI absolutely love this place.

I have to say that the food was very good this time around. It wasn't borin,g as I found it before. The rack of lamb was very nice! As was the duck breast. Wonderful wait staff! Ambiance was romantic and comfortable!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful dining experience after a long day of skiing.
I love the rustic interior and giant fireplace! Great cocktails and wine list as well as wonderfully portioned and presented food! We started with a dozen oysters (a bit pricey but good) followed by some delicious duck pate (perfection!) and a beet salad with goat cheese. For a main course we shared a perfectly cooked roasted duck breast followed by a maple brown butter crumble and port. Big thumbs up! Everything was delicious, service was good and that fireplace was just magic! Thanks for a wonderful experience! We will certainly be back!
