I used to live nearby back in 2015 so when I went to NYC again this March I wanted to stop by and grab some things for nostalgia. At first the signs are not really clear with saying it's on the second floor but it's not unless you dine in so make sure to check that. Just for background sakes I'm a native Hindi speaker who has lived in India for years and is very familiar with the cuisine. At first they tired to make me buy more food than I wanted and explain to me everything which just wasted my time, but I ended up I just ordering one chicken roll and 4 chicken kababs. Then I asked them to put it in the box instead of wrapping everything in aluminum foil cause I was flying back in a couple of hours. That's when the owner or some one came up and talked to the server behind the counter. He made fun of me in Hindi assuming I won't understand but I did and I felt extremely humiliated. I did only converse in English at the shop but I felt discriminated and extremely uncomfortable. First they wrapped everything foil so didn't even pay attention to what I asked and the food was also very bland, I could get better food at the frozen section at any Indian store. The "Karhi roll" was just a piece of naan with lettuce and a chicken kababs. And the kababs were really bland and oily. And when I went to pay I had to wait cause the lady was taking some call and paid zero attention to me which was really unprofessional. The ambience is average it felt old and dated without if the staff being rude.Overall I would not suggest this place and I'm definitely not coming back ever. I would give it zero stars if possible but don't waste your time here there are better places just around the corner.
Be the first to ReplyI had been living in NY for the last 24 years & this was
I had been living in NY for the last 24 years & this was one of my regular place to eat when I was in Jackson heights; especially if I wanted to eat naan. But yesterday I went there with my friend to celebrate my birthday & the experience was just horrible! I never seen my friend that upset, very disappointed about the whole experience!I don't care if the stuff or the owner hates us after this review but truth is truth . Someone had to say it, because the way we got treated there it was just not OK!So we ordered naan, chicken tikka masala, lamb chop. The naan & lamb chop was good. Chicken tikka masala was just horrible, one of the worst chicken tikka masala ever! I go to lots of restaurants so I had tried a lot. Then after a discussion we decided we have to say something to the stuff about the food. The guy who were serving us he listened, said sorry & told us he can't take the money out from the bill for it but he can give us something else to try. So my friend said my friend love sweets , let's try gulab jamun. So he bring us the gulab jamun but he gave us only only plate & spoon. So now I am upset thinking what kind of disrespect Is This!We both didn't say nothing, my friend was getting upset now.while eating we saw ant & hair on the plate of gulab jamun! Now you can imagine how we feltMy friend started to feel she gonna vomit. We call out the server, he didn't came. Some other guy come, after hearing us & see ant & hair on the plate he says it's normal to find one or two ant on Sweets! Now you can imagine what we feeling like what is this! And they shouting to each other, talking about us, we can hear them talking about us! Sad part is most of the worker are from Bangladesh & obviously we are Bangladeshi & we can hear & understand everything! The thing that bother me the most, the nerve of that server without no hesitation or guilt , no sorry to his customers, not managing the problem & try to calm down his customers. He goes & says it's not a big deal, 1/2 ants is normal in sweets !Then another guy comes, he seems little knowledgeable how to control a angry customer! He says don't worry we gonna take the money out for chicken tikka masala! It was not about the money at all Now hold on, does they thinking we just wanna get away without paying for food which we didn't even eat! They definitely didn't get why we were upset! I don't know who is the manager , but we should have called him & tell him everything! Because if this goes on like this very soon this restaurant will be out of business! In restaurant business customer service is everything after the taste of food of course! So it's a big NO for us, Jackson heights have a lot of restaurants to eat . Who wants to eat horrible food & top of that get insulted by the servers !I m including pictures to prove that I am not making stuff up.And the bathroom was ok, I tried to open the door & the handle literally came out. They need to fix it.

Picked up lunch from this place thinking it taste good! While I was there, saw them making Parantha so got few of those & Chole puri as well for carry out! Once got home, it was disappointed finding no achar with Parantha which was first let down & Parantha itself taste so blend! They did packed a raita which was watery & not edible. Their size was huge but it's tasteless! And chole was packed with aloo on side together which Ofcourse again taste gross!! So overall I didn't enjoy even a single bite from bought food from them! Waste of money & my time as they made me waited for long to get my food !! First & last business with them!

I don't really "take stars off" anymore unless I see something really wrong - especially if I'm not really really sure that something's not made right, or there's something otherwise out of place. So since I started spending more time in NYC, I've been exploring new neighbourhoods, and a friend of mine there who is my culinary go-to met me in Queens. We had talked about Jackson Diner, but then he remembered Kabab King and hadn't been since before COVID. To our good fortune there was a table in the back open. The gentleman who came with menus and took our order picked for us, because we asked for his recommendations. We ended up with chicken tikka, goat curry, and chicken biryani, with some naan. They were all great recommendations. Everything was delicious. Even though it's all from a hot table, it was piping hot and everything was full of flavour. Spiced perfectly too. For the amount we spend (under $50 for two including tip, and a lot of chai), we got great value I thought.

I would encourage management to take this review as a positive criticism. We have been listening to kabab King commercials for many many years and finally decided to come visit them.First they gave us a hard time on having separate checks, 2nd they brought the food that is way below par and some of it was cold.3rd, nobody came to check on us and 4th, they failed to complete the order. When Bill received, there was tip included, which is ok but they added some sort of tech fees. All above can be rectified by. Better customer service and better quality food.We will come back in one month and will provide review again

I use to come to this restaurant a lot growing up. But I was very disappointed with my last visit when I went with my friend. I'm so embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to him. It was his first time going, and now, It will be the last time. Right when we received our food, we were excited to dig right in. We traveled all the way from the Bronx to come here. I got the Haleem and wanted to ask for some lemons. So when I had looked over to get the waiters attention to let him know; there he was...standing there, picking his nose! How gross! My friend asked him for the plate of lemons and the waiter, without washing his hands, goes to grab the plate...This is not acceptable in any food joints. I work with food. This was just sloppy behavior. Inconsiderate and just straight up dangerous. Especially with how times are right now in 2022. No wonder the place was so empty. It used to be packed when I was coming here as a child. Not anymore...makes sense why.
Be the first to ReplyHate for me first review to be a negative one.
But I guess most of us only revolt when left extremely unsatisfied. I have a thing for restaurant bathrooms. For some reason to me if the bathrooms are not maintained, You've already lost 5 "points" out of 10 (should be more, I'm just being nice.) had to hold my nose while I used the bathroom and tried my best to avoid stepping on which I'm Pretty sure was urine. over all this place was lacking greatly in its cleanliness to a point where I'm pretty sure it's risk to consumer heath. Service was as expected, no complains. Food was okay not so great being the fact that this is "KABAB KING" one of the oldest restaurant in Jackson heights 74 st area. Beef bihari and the Nihari, both dishes could've been much better given their price and portion.Be ready to pay a 4% card fee here for your grand total (after bill, tax and tip).

Be the first to Reply唔好問我點解食早餐食得咁heavy,個樣睇落去好似麻麻哋、環境又係麻麻地,仲有少少污糟邋遢嘅感覺,但係啲嘢食一咬落口,嗰種滿足嘅感覺就即刻返番晒嚟,蒜蓉薄餅係即叫即整,食落去又脆又香口,配咖喱汁,又或者配菠菜汁,都係冇得彈,仲有佢哋嘅普普通通嘅奶茶,都絕對有一定嘅質素,總之就好鬼好食 之後有個員工坐響我對面食早餐,我八卦同佢傾幾句嘅時候,先發覺原來佢係老闆,傾談之間,佢話佢以前去過香港幾個月,又佢話開咗呢間舖頭幾十年,佢係響巴基斯坦過嚟嘅,佢好 proud 咁樣同我講巴基斯坦嘅經濟係世界第七,我哋傾咗好多唔同嘅廢話,總括嚟講,全世界每個國家嘅國民大部分都係善良嘅,只可惜俾一部分壞人操盤,搞到個個慘慘豬。#蒜蓉薄餅 #garlicnaan#咖喱雞 #currychicken#紐約 #nyc
Be the first to ReplyI should have read all the reviews here before I came here
I should have read all the reviews here before I came here to order to go. For the quality of food, its just MEH. I wonder whether I was over charged. I ordered chicken biryani, beef curry and 2 samosas. Total was $26. Really? I won't be coming back for sure - I don't think they really care.
Be the first to ReplyI usually order from Dera in the neighborhood but decided
I usually order from Dera in the neighborhood but decided to try something new. I always pass by kabob king but never had eaten there. I ordered delivery via Uber eats. I ordered a chicken biriyani, chicken curry/korma, and a chicken chapali kabob. I know the food is pre-made and left sitting out during the day, and did account for this. As Dera does it as well. Unfortunately, Kabob King is definitely doing something wrong because the biriyani ($12.95) was so dried out that the chicken pieces had become tough and difficult to chew. The rice was SO BLAND, it tasted like nothing. This is SHOCKING for Indian food which is always so abundantly flavored with spices. Thank goodness I ordered the chicken curry ($9.99) to go with it or the biriyani would have been even more disappointing on its own. The curry was REALLY oily and the chicken was pretty rubbery. It wasn't spicy, didn't really taste great, but at least added a little something to the dry rice. The chapali kebab ($2.93) which I was so looking forward to was so clearly burnt and tasted as such. Oddly enough, still the most flavorful thing I ordered. Lesson learned. Stick to what you know. This was a really disappointing experience, especially when it came out to about $34-35 with tax, fees, and tip. I'm only giving it two stars because at least it was somewhat edible if you add a ton of pepper sauce and douse the rice in oily curry.

We went in here not expecting overly great service or anything and it's safe to say we overestimated the service. We waited for at least an hour to get the food and then around 30 minutes to get the check. The food itself was fine but the amount of time it took to get it was abhorrent. I had to get up and look for someone to ask for the food and then again to get the check. Food is fine but the time it takes to get to it is way too much.
Be the first to ReplyKabob king is the worst.
They served our food wrong and took more than an hour. I am very disappointed with the service, and their haleem was like a slimy substance. Do not go there. It sucks very much.

They make you wait 45 minutes and then bring out a plate of microwaved food dripping in oil to eat on plastic plates with no clean utensils. The quality of this place has gone down. Chicken tikka masala was not edible, layers of oil on the dish and tasted nothing like chicken tikka masala. Not sure if anyone else experienced this but the waiters are completely lost. They do not know what's available on the menu and they don't know how to read off the menu (?)
Be the first to ReplyThey have things on the menu that they don't have, on top
They have things on the menu that they don't have, on top of that they take incredibly long. Its been 40 minute's and we are still waiting for our food. The service is weird, even the waiter isnt sure what they have. I waited 40 mins for food that is microwaved what a joke.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered a couple of vegetarian dish and that's all.
Not bad. But the Pakistanis do not know how to serve food in a restuarant. Very sloppy. The restuarant is dirty, old and outdated. They just throw thd plates and you have yo constantly ask for utensils. Then they will slap you with a credit card fee after they show you the bill. Very sneaky. They don't tell you about it either. Its a surprise. There is no sign indicating it either. I was very disappointed. When you tell the waiter, he acts dumbfounded and bkakes it in the owner. I made a big scene and they had to refund my credit card fee. Though I used my credit and debit card.
