Amazing experience while in Kyoto.
Had the pork tenderloin cutlet and it was great. Decent size. Come with cabbage, rice and miso soup. Wait time was not too bad. Place is clean and very friendly

Absolutely loved this restaurant, probably our best meal out during our week in Kyoto. The pork was first class, melt in your mouth, and the tonkatsu sauces delicious. Loved the yuzu dressing for the shredded cabbage, bought a bottle to take home. Ordered a white wine and received a mini bottle of French Chardonnay. (A welcome surprise as most wines in Japanese restaurants are not great!). Service was good, friendly staff. Can highly recommend.

We were staying nearby so went for dinner. Staff very friendly. We each got a tontaksu (local for my husband, Canadian for me). It comes with a large serving of rice, cabbage and miso soup. There are sauces on the table you can mix with sesame seeds as a dipping sauce. Not a super cheap meal (ยฅ5000 with a beer and a highball) but wow! The ingredients were amazing quality. The pork so soft it melts in the mouth with the crispiest breading. Delicious and well worth the visit!

One of the best Tonkatsu place I have been. Various cuts of pork cutlets nicely breaded and deep fried. The breading was just nice to hold the meat and the croquettes were fantastic. For around SGD $23, you can get a lunch set with 120g tenderloin tonkatsu, a large scallop croquette, free flow barley rice, cabbage and miso soup. There are slightly more expensive cuts with deep fried oysters as well. The miso soup was not the run-of-the type in some restaurants - the ones served had proper chunks of burdock, reddish, carrots and veggies. It wasn't too salty as well. Service staff were very attentive and provided great service. Definitely my stop in Kyoto.

Though the food was good but they have a โpolicyโ of a compulsory order per person and no sharing of the rice, soup and side dish. I find this not very feasible as their portion is big and we could not finish which would be wasteful. Possibly this is due to they have free refills for the rice, soup and side dish but we would not be taking it anyway. Furthermore I do not see this โpolicyโ written in their menu. Price is above average as well.
