Kiku London Reviews from The Last Year
Good but overpriced
We had a nice dinner at Kiku. The service is very watchful (maybe a bit too much), we didn't expect so many waitresses would be around. There is a large choice on the menu, however we found the meals were overpriced. Our teriyaki chicken and salmon were good but the portions were not very generous and no rice on the side. A beansprout starter salad is offered, as well as an end-of-meal tea. Nice and comfortable setting.
Great lunch
Came here for lunch and what a great surprise. They have quite an extensive menu such as lunch set or bento boxes. I had a tempura udon and it was just perfect! Between us we ordered Sashimi and different types of sushi. Absolutely fresh and delicious. Absolutely happy to recommend this restaurant
Best Japanese restaurant in London
People who draw comparisons with Zuma, Roka and Nobu simply have no idea what an authentic Japanese restaurant is like. Minimalist and calm with emphasis on food and ingredients Kiku is the best Japanese restaurant in London at probably the last remaining authentic Japanese restaurant in London. The clue is the Japanese embassy is round the corner!
Joyful
I had heard of Kiku in Kinosaki, Japan. There is a very nice ryokan called Mikuniya that is the source of Kiku. A true family business. And as the food in Mikuniya never fails to amaze me my expectations were high. The restaurant is a prime example of Japanese simplicity. The attention given is Japanese as well. More formal than jovial. I took the Edo tasting menu. Subtle all over, focussing on the character of the ingredients rather than adding to that. I realised that this needed a mindset of its own. It might disappoint people that the beautiful broth that is offered at the beginning is not deeply flavoured but develops as you appreciate it. Like good wine. And so it goes on, to my great delight. This was a meal that makes one a very happy customer. Recommended for those who want to appreciate the preciseness of the traditional Japanese cuisine.
Top marks for the tasting menu and excellent customer service.
A fantastic location and selection of sushi on offer in this 'traditional' and original Japanese restaurant. We tried the tasting menu which had some amazing flavours and sushi we'd never tried before. Booking was taken at short notice and we requested a private area for the family which the restaurant provided with no fuss. A bit pricey but well worth the occasion and experience.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
