🤢 2/5 - Recently visited this place with a friend for the first

Recently visited this place with a friend for the first time based on online reviews and the interesting looking a la carte menu. The interior is visually cohesive, the bar is stunning, and it has an intimate vibe. Unfortunately it must have been a bad night, because the entire restaurant STUNK. From the moment we entered the vestibule with the hostess, it had a remarkably off-putting stink in a combination of 'grandma's basement' and 'homeless smell'. I was hoping that once we were seated the smell would go away, but it lingered even in the main dining area. The worst part was using the restroom down in the basement. There the smell was the strongest, and smelled of damp and mold. This is really unfortunate because everything else about the restaurant was great. We loved the music, the welcome sake, the intimate booths, the unique menu, but the olfactory issue was a dealbreaker.
