Excellent French food, pleasant ambience
This restaurant is now included in World’s 100 best restaurant. It is probably the best French restaurant in Osaka. It has a simple but elegant décor. Tables are set at some distance apart. Service was courteous. Food was French style with local ingredience. We had a dozen dishes of scallops, fish, soup, vegi and dessert. Every dish was well prepared and many were excellent. Our favourite was beef tendon soup, piglet and pear mosse. I recommend this restaurant for its excellent French food.

Went here for lunch.
A chefs menu. Priced well for a Michelin 2 star.
They were mindful of my daughter not liking peas, so altered one of her courses to avoid it.
Food, as one would expect was delicious. A lot, for a lunch.
Service impeccable. On point, yet friendly.
The chef had taken pains to source his produce well.
French food, but clearly with a hint of the east (not just Japanese).
We went with the recommended wine pairing. But I peeked at the wine list. Quite impressive.
“Best French Restaurant in Osaka...”
My wife and I visited this place over a year ago. Been a little lazy to write about this amazing restaurant until now. Anyway, the food and the service were impeccable. The waitresses were very attentive to the customers. My wife was happy that we managed to take a photo with the Chef. We have been and will continue to recommend this restaurant to our friends and families. 😁
Be the first to ReplyFrench techniques, Japanese ingredients
This is a very small restaurant and requires payment in advance, but it’s a great experience for foodies. If you don’t like fish you probably should choose somewhere else to go. Indeed, if you don’t like fish, eating out in Japan could be a bit of a challenge for you period.
La Cime offers two tasting menus at lunch. We chose nine courses rather than 12 and we left very satisfied. Don’t miss the ‘Bourdin Dog’, the chef’s signature amuse bouche. It’s one of the few occasions that meat takes centre stage here.
This is a peaceful and relaxing experience with excellent service. We’d been told that service in English wasn’t guaranteed but each of our wait staff had a smattering - enough to give us the information we needed about what we were eating (there’s no menu, but you get a list of dishes at the end of your meal).
Impeccable cuisine
We had dinner in the highly rated La Cime on a Monday night. After being usehered into an elegant yet intimate room (only 20 covers) we were taken care of with attentiveness and respect from start to finish.
The food, as you would imagine from a 2* Michelin restaurant, was of the highest quality. The blend of French techniques with Japanese ingredients delivered results beyond our expectations.
Highlights included the first amuse bouche called ‘Boudindog’, a playful beignet of blood sausage served on black rocks and a black plate also the best grouper I have ever eaten. Deserts and treats too rounded off a high quality affair.
This is fine dining at its finest in terms of food but the staff don’t make it feel at all stuffy. Not a cheap experience by any measure but, in my opinion, money well spent compared to similarly priced restaurants.
With our a doubt the highest quality 2* restaurant I have been lucky enough to dine in.

Osaka Must-Go Fine Dining Restaurant
La Cime is a must-go fine dining restaurant in Osaka! Online reservations are very convenient, especially for overseas customers. Service is exceptional. The restaurant only provides one lunch set at JPY 8,500/head + tax. One can also opt for wine pairing at JPY 6,500/head + tax. The minimalist decor ensures diners focus on the chef’s unique creations. Dishes are not only artistic and delectable, but also full of surprises.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyable Lunch - Two Michelin Stars
Would say that it is comparable to other two Michelin stars establishments elsewhere. Online reservation was fuss-free, and they were responsive over email and communicated fine in written English. There are only a few tables in the restaurant, so it is recommended to make reservations at least a few weeks in advance.
Service was good, although they took really long (more than 25 minutes) to serve my 2nd / 3rd amuse bouche, most likely in order to sync the preparation of dishes with another table of 3, since I was a solo diner.
Enjoyed almost everything on the menu - boudindog, squid/yam appetizer, artichoke, potato gnocchi/trout, yellowtail with yuzu, sea eel, flounder, chicken from Kagoshima, desserts: kumquat and souffle, rounding off with tea and petite 3s. Especially liked the squid appetizer and potato gnocchi trout. Some of the dishes were innovative and interesting, a fusion of Japanese and French cuisine. Particularly unimpressed with the meat dish - chicken from Kagoshima with some vegetables on the side.
Take note that the whole lunch would last for around 2 hours.
