Another visit in june this year to this unique hotel
So we have stayed many times now in our room with a nice terrace well air conditioned ! on 2 floors - perfect. . The breakfasts in the courtyard as enjoyable as ever , we appreciate even more the evening meals in that sublime space , evening falls , the glow descends, if you are staying at the hotel you get first option on a table , a guarantee , unlike most other hotels we have stayed at , we love the iconic menu that michele roux has said contains all the french classics we had our favourites , the truffled salad , the lobster , the bar , followed by the flambed souffle , truly a delight , the outside terrace packed with people mainly dressed up for a special evening out The waiters ?sorry for all the moaners we only received pleasant humorous service. I am writing this having just had holidays in 2 luxurious hotels in italy and spain where we spent time trying to find anything on the menus we liked -here not a problem . also worth mentioning the rooms are not expensive -by comparison Without doubt we will return next year-, something to look forward to .

We tried to have dinner at the restaurant and after securing a reservation for 5 people we ended up being 6, these things happen and we expected some Felxibility from the maitre . Instead we were totally mistreated, not only they did not allow us to dine, even though there were plenty empty tables, but at the bar, after ordering champagne, we asked for some appetizers and were denied. In general They wanted us to leave only because we were 6 instead of 5. A terrible treatment, snobby and pretentious for a place that although beautiful needs to change the attitude of the personnel.
Be the first to ReplyHotel the best and restaurant gorgeous food embarrassing be warned!
Been going every few years for forty years. This dinner for four a French couple and my husband an md and me a chef. Ordered charcuterie nothing resembled charcuterie looked like Indonesian ricetoffle, ordered escargot looked like chopped snails and tomato paste tasted the same no shells no garlic no butter not escargot. We ordered fish with a metallic taste suffered Thru a rude must be middle eastern short waiter while we all spoke fluent French only spoke to us in English. The food sucked turns out new owner new chef all the locals warned us. Believe us and believe them. $500 for absolute garbage.

This is for the restaurant - I didn’t stay at the hotel. The terrace is a superb spot to enjoy an evening, surrounded by greenery and a few significant artworks. Service was sufficiently attentive, but with an overall tone of expensive tourist mill. Cuisine showed promise of old school excellence, with tableside carving and plating, but lacking somewhat in flavor. My single-cut chateaubriand was perfectly cooked but under seasoned, and served with a broccoli floret, which seemed a wasted opportunity considering the abundant, excellent produce I received everywhere else I dined. Wines by the glass were a disappointing afterthought here. My principal complaint is significant: I ordered a €24 “Grand Marnier soufflé” for dessert. After a surprisingly short time, the dish arrived and was flambéed tableside. However, I was stunned to discover that it was not a soufflé at all, but a soufflé dish of simple meringue. No bechamel, no orange zest, no orange juice, just egg whites and sugar, browned on top. Ordering a soufflé in FRANCE and being served a bowl of meringue is beyond inexcusable, and they should be ashamed.
Be the first to ReplyThis is the place for art lovers
Its' all about loving the atmosphere of art and to feel the special way, why artists were attracted to this place when creating their masterpieces. Luckily for the owners of the hotel they left several masterpieces partly to settle their bill for living in the hotel. You should not expect a five star luxury hotel as they are new built all over the globe. its a hideaway for people, who want to breath the same air as chagall, Miro, Matisse and many more and accept on the other hand the shabby chic of furniture all over the house. Me and my wife enjoyed also the dinner on the romantic terreasse. The menu will not be awarded Micheline five star but reflects somehow the magic of the place. Prices are high but the hotel is sold out all over the year because its so special

Overrated food and TERRIBLE service. I don’t recommend it. Loads of better restaurants in the area with a better attitude. Walked in with a booking and a lot of free tables but they gave us a hard time with the seating and an even worse time with the food.

Room was lovely. Art sublime. Hotel iconic for modern art lovers. Service was served with a lot of attitude. There is a definite "we don't care feeling" from some staff members. We arrived for outdoor breakfast both mornings at 9:30/10:00 and the wait staff was already setting up lunch and was completely oblivious to talking loudly, rushing around in a frenzied manner and literally throwing plates and cutlery on the tables. It was honestly like they wanted guests not to have a relaxing experience. One literally asked me what I wanted when we went to check in for breakfast. They get a lot of bus loads of tourists who are not staying at the hotel who try and peak in but staff can be obnoxiously rude to actual hotel guests. Lastly there were a stain on our sheets and we had
