Fantastic. Must make a reservation
We went on a Monday, chefs day off. You would never know it. Gerard and another waiter (sorry I didn’t get his name) hooked us up with great wine and unbelievable dishes. We just asked the waiter to pick 5 dishes for us. One was a fish tartar that had edible violets. You could taste the smell if that makes scents. Haha. The dessert was a cross between crème brûlée and French toast. The waiter paired it with an liqueur that had anisette notes but I can’t remember the name. By far our favorite meal in Barcelona

This meal was one of our top five on a vacation trip, including trips to London, Germany and Peru. The ingredients are so fresh, and the combinations are creative yet appropriate. Try the octopus with pork belly, and the Korean ribs with candied ginger and peanuts. Reserve ahead. Make time to get to La Mundana!
Be the first to ReplyNice restaurant but missing on some low hanging culinary fruits
First: Friendly staff. Second: To the owner: Please check the english menu, it's filled with spelling and other errors. For example: Croceta De asado o de jamón is not Roast and Jam. This is a "tapas" restaurant, as described by the waiter. About us: A married couple that loves to cook, good wines and eat long lunches to enrich the day. Sometimes at star restaurants, sometimes close and sometimes just for the scenery and the champagne. Eats out twice a week. We had: 1. Smoked Oyster (Ahumada al momento con madera de castaño). It came only smoked without any lemon, onions, vinegar or other things that normally comes with an oyster. This tasted "just" smoke. And lacked needed freshness. 3/5p. 2. Croquettes with meat Tasted like expected. 4/5p. 3. Patatas Bravas (Bravas de la Mundana) Original take on a spanish classic dish. It came with both a classic brava sauce along with a black garlic sauce. Beautifully served. The potato was however too soft. I assume that it's due to the potato variety that it doesn't get as crisp on the outside as it should. 4/5p. 4. Asian style squid (Calamares asiáticos) Fried calamares rings with a kimchi mayo. My wife liked it, me too, but it lacked acidity and would have been much better served with fresh lime juice instead of just grated lime. 4/5p or 3/5p (depending on who you ask) 5. Eggs Surprise (Huevo sorpresa) This is the dish that should have gotten 5/5p, the taste was awesome, but the dish was all through the same texture; the mashed potatoes, the egg and the sabayonne. We had to order bread to put the dish on to be able to eat it. Really sad with those flavours. 2/5p. Note; I burned my hand, so much I had to rinse it running water for 5min, on the stone bowl the egg dish was served in, and only a "sorry we usually tell our guest if something is hot." Some compensation or something would have been nice. The wines served were all good, had cava, 2 different reds, an orange wine and Oloroso Sherry. The price of the lunch was resonable. Overall a nice lunch, but lacked the expected culinary edge.

This was close to our AirBnB. Glad we went. Couldn't make reservations but stopped by and they were able to accommodate us (2 adults). Very friendly. Food was excellent. Highly recommend I'd in the area.

Positive and satisfying experience from every point of view, the two most exciting dishes were the risotto with eels and as a Neapolitan I would never have expected such a good babà

Fair space, normal service, quality food. Result in an excess of overvaluation in price, 20-25% above what its cost should be.

I'll be quick: brutal! A 10/10 The food is delicious, each dish is carefully taken care of. The staff seems to care about what they do.

It has not met our expectations. ➕👍🏽: Decoration: Modern and pleasant Food: Original tapas Service: Cold but correct ➖👎🏽: Local: Small, little space between tables. Food: Small portions and some do not reach the quality required. Price: Excessively high, they are expensive, ridiculous tapas from €7 to €15. Summary: €50 per diner without it being worth it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

The small but correct place, depending on the table you get. As it is informal and tapas, without tablecloths and with paper napkins. The service, attentive and efficient. The food, with some minor flaws, is normal, and I say normal in the sense that neither the product nor the preparations have anything special. and with the excuse that they are tapas, small portions. The prices are not normal, but unjustifiably high. The quality/price/scenario ratio is not correct. In addition, the menu prices do not include VAT. If it were a menu, it would be clearly illegal and reportable. As it is a letter, the detail is only misleading and inelegant, at the very least. I went with curiosity and expectation and left disappointed. I'm sorry.

It was a pleasure – literally! - this discovery. The name was familiar to me, having read a report years ago and I don't remember how I found it again, but we went to eat taking advantage of the fact that we were without children and... Oh my god. How good everything was, mother! Decent portions, balanced dishes, beautiful dishes, attentive staff without being overwhelming, great space and atmosphere... I can't wait to return! The sea bass was delicious (even though the green curry was too spicy for my taste), the sweetbreads, the ribs, the burrata were finger-licking good... Which we literally did. In fact, we didn't want bread, but my partner asked for dipping in the sauces. And we more than enjoyed the desserts (the oxalos in the lavender cream are a good herbal touch). It deserves the excellent despite some small details: green leaves that are too big to eat well; that the bravas are interesting, although the smoked sauce would be more intense (I expected a touch of black garlic and it tasted a bit flat); that they had a gluten-free crumble alternative for celiacs. Everything must be said, the menu specifies allergens wonderfully, and in my case they removed it, separately, and my partner ate it, but the lavender cream was a delight that with the crunch would have already been orgasmic. We will repeat, without a doubt!

I have been wanting to discover this restaurant for a long time. On a cold Wednesday in December we decided to go out to eat. Small and bustling place, a little noisy for my taste, not so much because of the space, but because of the diners. Luckily, we were seated next to the door, so somewhat distant from the rest of the tables. With a young, dynamic and decisive service, we chose to choose various dishes, warned in advance that the portions were not abundant. We started with the marinated and smoked mackerel, braised leeks, idiazabal (crispy and tasty, an excellent combination), we continued with the Asian squid (with chilli powder, grated lime and kimchi mayonnaise), I was expecting something more original, but they were tender and the The proposed seasoning was subtle enough not to overpower the flavor of the squid itself; Grilled octopus (with bacon, Thai chilly sauce and cilantro), the cooking point was good, although we had some sauce left over that we thought was too spicy. And to conclude, the surprise egg (mashed potato, truffled yolk and carbonara foam), truly a true and delicious surprise! A light texture that amalgamated the 3 flavors in a perfect fusion. We were about to ask for a second egg, but we held back!!! To accompany these 5 fantastic dishes, we chose a very special white wine, a priorat: Instabile in Albis Brisat Natural, Garnacha Blanca, Macabeu, Cartoixa and Muscat varieties. A natural, elegant wine, with citrus and wood aromas, deep and mineral. A very good choice to complete a cold December Wednesday meal. Recommended, repeatable, and unruly. Cheerful, original and wonderful!

Amazing tapas, fabulous wines, excellent service. Would return again and again. In a suburb so not too central, down a small side street.

This restaurant gave me a New York (West Village) feeling. Super tasty food, nice sharing plates, friendly service, cozy restaurant. I will definitely come back here more often! Reservation is an absolute must!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Food is inventive and well-made. Service is charming and efficient. We ate and drank to our hearts content and escaped under 135 EUR (for two). Will definitely come again
Be the first to ReplyStressfull but great food
Excellent food but the dinner was rather stressfull. No time in between each dish served and when offered the desert there were only 12 minutes to consume it before next timeslot of dining. The experience felt more like a consumption machine than a great night with friends. 2 hours set as a timeslot for all these dishes is way too short. The waiters did their very best but it felt obvious they all struggled managing the tight time schedule . How this can be a Michelen-star restaurant is mystery to us.
