Amazing food and super friendly staff ! Highly recommend this place. Cute date night vibes!
My all time favorite Italian restaurant.
I've been going here since it was Giotto years ago. My favorite gnocchi and ceasar salad. That's saying something when there are a million Italian restaurants in NJ. Definitely worth a try!
Nice lively place.
Warm greeting with great service. 1st time review but have dined here 7 or 8 times. Carciofi and lasagna on the money. Clams/mussels broth had great flavor very light on the bread crumbs. Cacio e Pepe was not good, essentially oil and pepper on pas
The food here was amazing.
It's a BYOB with no corking fee. The lavender lemonade was refreshing. My eggplant was not greasy or over cooked. My lamb chops were to die for. Awesome spot and I can't wait to return. Make reservations because it was packed for a late Sun

The food is so good! Love this place! The salmon is the best I've ever had. I'd skip the tiramisu thought, I've had way better.

Always great! The pastas are fresh and made in house, the staff are efficient and friendly, and Robert (the owner) never raises prices. It's really the best value in Montclair! If you ever dined at Osteria Giotto, you will love La Rocca becau
Feels Like Home
My favorite spot, little hidden gem! food is fresh and amazing. I come almost every month and for every birthday or special occasion. My bf loves the lamb and BYOB, the atmosphere the host, servers it's all such a warm experience.
Came by for a Sunday evening date night with my fiancรฉ.
We had a reservation but had to wait a bit to be seated. The inside of the restaurant had a nice ambiance, low light with candles. The interior is on the smaller side so I can imagine how it will feel if the restaurant is packed. We ordered an arra
Calamari, Ribeye and Raviolo were good.
Carpaccio had no taste. Tuna tartar with tomatoes had no flavor, mostly tomatoes. Rack of lamb had weird spice and was chewy. Three of us tried it and nobody liked it. Dessert we wanted was not available. We did not love it.

We went on a date night and the food, ambiance, service was so great. Would definitely go again!
La Rocca - Amazing
If you like fish, try the Halibut and you will be in heaven. Amazing. The fresh beet salad was also very good. Love all the Italian food here. La Rocca is excellent.
Hard to be disappointed at this great restaurant with inventive menu
A menu with many choices, and everything we had was just delicious. Highly recommend the octopus appetizer. Serves both the usual staples (e.g. lasagna) but also well-prepared inventive offerings. BYOB and no corkage fee. Chef is clearly very talent
Very rude
Arrived at 5 minutes to 5:00 . It was pouring rain outside and very cold. They wouldnโt let us wait inside for the 5 minutes. Very rude.
Divine!
To say La Rocca is the best is an understatement! It is our favorite place. Every item is divine, the staff feels like family. Run, dont walk!
Overated
Having lived in Bologna for 7 years and actually dined several times at San Domenico in Imola, I was looking forward to trying this establishment. Overlooking the menu prior to making the reservation and noticing a signature dish invented by the grea
Interesting.....cool staff
As a European born, I'm familiarized with sophisticated Italian restaurants; living in US, not always the case. At La Rocca we could find a nearly perfect match between soft and casual elegancy and tasty Italian food. We liked the atmosphere, sp
Highly Recommended
Friends and colleagues recommended LaRocca, and it did not disappoint. Everything was superb, from appetizers to dessert, including the attentive service. The burrata salad was perfect. The calamari were lightly fried, so the 'meat' w
Good but noisy.
This place is in the same building that used to house Osteria Giotto. Very crowded on a Thursday night. Quite noisy -- which was the main problem with its predecessor as well. Service was cordial, but somewhat slow. Appetizers are very good. I w

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to La Rocca Osteria Montclair at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the La Rocca Osteria Montclair page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* DistinguishedTree58, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* DistinguishedTree58 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to DistinguishedTree58 for any questions Peter may have as DistinguishedTree58 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* DistinguishedTree58 now uses their connections at La Rocca Osteria Montclair to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If DistinguishedTree58 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, DistinguishedTree58 receives the $200 reward which is credited to DistinguishedTree58's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at La Rocca Osteria Montclair!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
