Impeccable service, interesting decor, irreproachable food!!
After Antonio's and its 70s atmopshere, here I am in the mid 80s, in a lilac-themed dining room! Beautiful; I felt like Patrick Bateman in American Psycho (is this Dorsia?).
We were originally booked on the terrace, which was sweet of the staff (it was my birthday..) but it really was too humid, so they kindly moved us inside.
The 4-courses meal was splendid: imaginative, beautifully decorated, tasty, and filling. A feast for the eyes and the tastebuds!
The staff was very friendly in a non-obsequious way. Because of Covid, no alcohol could be served, bummer. We had the fake bubbly to toast, but I declined the "non-alcohol red wine" for it is however you put it just grape juice in a fancy bottle.
We left satiated and happy. I wanted a wonderful culinary experience and I received it. Definitely an "i'll be back".
Extremely overcharged food and service with no convincing reason
Everyone heard the reputation. But when we chose this restaurant for our dinner, we slighted the fact that the famous French founder has already passed on, and the entire operation was in the hand of local operators. First of all, their communication skills during service was not adequate without clear and detailed explanations about the food, drinks, and service. We found the real price of the bottle of wine we ordered only when they gave us the tab. It was a shocking price totally unexpected or printed on the menu. The food was localized to the local taste in Tokyo, and therefore not to our standards of French food. Wine was normally good, making it impossible to believe that it was over $500 per bottle. If you have that kind of money and time, there are tons of other cheaper, kinder, and more delicious French restaurants in Tokyo.
