Lamalo is a fun spot for Mediterranean plates, especially
Lamalo is a fun spot for Mediterranean plates, especially if you're going with a group & planning to share. The dips are a meal in itself, but there's lots of other delicious dishes to add (my personal favorite is the lamb kebab). The only thing that keeps Lamalo from being a 5 star experience for me is the ambiance. They have an upstairs floor that is lively & fun, but the downstairs floor seating area is a little meh & feels like an afterthought for overflow seating. I've eaten in both areas, and I found my experience upstairs to be much better.

Located in a prime location inside the beautiful Arlo Hotel, the atmosphere is stunning from the moment you walk in! Come for the dips (which are some of the best I've ever had including the roasted cauliflower and Tershi), and stay for the cocktails and entrees. Every single bite at lamalo was special, and the all 3 desserts also blew me away. The staff are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and I recommend this place super highly for any occasion! I will be back again very soon.

Soo good! came for dinner on friday, the restaurant is inside the arlo hotel. Quiet restaurant with lots of seating for large groups. I got the unlimited breads and spreads, my boyfriend got the 2 skewer+side option and we shared. I think next time we will just get the breads and spreads because it is more than enough variety. The bread is delicious! comes out freshly baked, it is thin with some herbs spread on top. A few of the "spreads" are like small dishes on their own, like the salad, beets with yogurt dip, and mushrooms. These were also the only ones we ordered a second serving of since we were too full to finish even the first round of spreads. My favorites were the hummus, labneh, and pickled vegetable dish. The octopus and chicken thigh skewers were both very good, octopus was my favorite although a bit salty. Do not recommend the string beans side dish - was lukewarm and tasted soggy like canned string beans. Overall really great dining experience and service, will be back for the bread and spreads!

Flew into NYC today and my hotel had this awesome hidden gem of a restaurant at the lobby level. I came around 30 minutes after their dining hours and was sat immediately. I was the first diner there! My waitress was nice and welcoming to recommend her favorites and explain the structure of their menu. It's basically an all you can eat bread and spreads if you opt in or try some bread with spreads and meat skewers. The dining experience was so classy, with excellent wait staff and timely delivery of dishes for a seamless food journey. I got 3 spreads: tahini, baba ganoush, and spinach and artichoke. The bread itself was heavenly, so fluffy, crispy right from the heaven, with subtle taste of oil with each bite. Easy to tear, spread and dip into the spreads. All of them were good, but the tahini and spinach and artichoke were my favorites with being creamy in texture and savory in taste. I also ordered a chicken thigh skewer that was presented beautifully, easy to cut, and amazing in texture. Their rice was so flavorful and a light crisp. This was a worthwhile dining experience and taste into middle eastern cuisine at NYC! Splendid!

SO cute inside and great vibes. Service was awesome. The food was pretty good! Loved the style of sharing so we got to try a bit of everything. They even gave us some freebies as well which was nice. Portions are a little small for the price but overall a great experience. Will probably return in the future.

Food and service was amazing! Can't wait to come back again! Definitely recommend the lamb and fresh bread.
Be the first to ReplyShrimp and lamb on point.
Bread with artichoke and hummus. Flavors on point. Service was solid
Be the first to ReplyThe service is amazing, really nice.
The food is really bad, vegetarian shawarma is cauliflower and broccoli on a skewer full of oil and an excessive amount of spices and the craziest thing is that this skewer costs $19!!!!!! A miniature plate of hummus that is enough for half a person, is not worth the money! Expensive prices for dishes that are not worth it

This place has hidden costs and small portions; we weren't informed by the waiter that salad sharing incurs double charges. Prepare to shell out at least $125 for two, as the $45 daily spread swiftly jumps to $70 for BASIC Israeli salads and pita, excluding drinks and entrees.
Be the first to ReplyWow, wow, and wow.
This place is a hidden gem!! Have to do the all you can eat dips and then I got the all you can eat dips + 2 skewers. The scallops and octopus skewers were sooo good. Loved that our server recommended them. They were grilled PERFECTLY and divine. The dips were tasty too - loved the spinach artichoke, hummus, and eggplant dips the most. I cant tell you how great the service was. She was extremely attentive and kind. The ambiance is low lit with lots of space for a group. I highly recommend for a family dinner, birthday, etc. I'll definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyCame for dinner and had a lovely meal.
We opted for the breads and spreads ($43 a person, unlimited refills on bread and the 13 small dishes) and separately ordered the octopus skewer, lamb skewer and mushroom skewer along with a side of the basmati rice. The bread was very good, it comes to the table hot. The only minor criticism is the bread is thicker on the outside and thinner in the middle, so when it cools, it becomes more of a cracker than a doughy bread in the center. The spreads were all good, but some were better than others. The skordalia was probably my favorite and the spinach and artichoke dip my least favorite (not because it wasn't good, it just didn't fit with the meal). The skewers were all delicious, the octopus was cooked to perfection and the lamb was ridiculously flavorful and tender. Would definitely recommend. The basmati rice was nice (came with pine nuts), but I don't know if we needed it for the meal.Overall a really great dinner, a fun communal experience with good service and fair pricing for how much food you get. The breads and spreads is plenty of food, but if you end up wanting a skewer, the lamalo spread ($65) is a pretty good deal as you get a skewer and a side for only $20 more (most skewers are about $20 on their own).
Be the first to Replyokay y'all hear me out.
This place has all the vibes, the ambiance, the good music, great cocktails, and some really great apps, but the meat skewers are TINY. I mean T I N Y. I don't even have a picture bc the tiny skinny skewers were not worth taking pictures of. This place gets a 4 because it's an adorable spot with some really delicious apps, but the main dishes threw me for a loop. My recommendation to this establishment would be to add a quarter lb of meat to each skewer or reduce the price (currently $19 per skewer).

Went for my hubby's bday. Food is amazing!! We did the $65pp set and it was really good. Just wasn't sure if they are to refill your apps or were to pay extra. Bread was super fresh and dips and skewers were delicious!! Only thing that we were too crazy abt was dessert. But no harm no foul. Will def be coming back soon!!
Be the first to ReplyLove that the menu allows you to taste everything and do it
Love that the menu allows you to taste everything and do it bottomless. The freshly baked bread and the dips are very special. Specifically loved the salad and the garlicky potato whip dip. Absolutely incredible. Labne, hummus, sauces all so yum. Great ambiance and service. Can't wait to return.
Be the first to ReplyA little noisy.
There: My only criticism. This restaurant serves the freshest, most delicious middle eastern food in NY. Steaming hot laffa on the table to complement an assortment of spreads---from tart pickled veggies to warm, fragrant hummus to roasted and vinegared Brussels sprouts and labneh. . . You get the picture. Our skewers of spiced chicken and salmon were moist and tender. I cannot say enough about the service, the food--perfect.
Be the first to ReplyOh my god, the food was amazing.
We each got the bred and spread with two skewers. This was way too much food for us, but not stop us from eating ALL of it. It's a little pricier now than it used to be, but it is totally worth it. And the food was so darned good. The bread! All those amazing spreads! I got salmon and shrimp skewers. The whole meal was one big chef's kiss. It's brightly lit, with a youngish crowd, and the food influencer picture taking really is kind of a thing here. We had a couple right next to us doing it. They were so sweet though, you just couldn't get annoyed with them. The servers are also amazing at their jobs. My only issue was with the hostess? Expediter? Not sure of the title. Maybe she was just having a bad day?I will definitely be going back, though maybe this time with the single skewer option.

The owners of this beautiful restaurant are so hospitable and kind, and the food is incredible. Highly recommend the hummus and amazing flatbread! Everything is super fresh and flavorful.
Be the first to ReplyThis is arguably my favorite restaurant in New York City.
If I could give it a sixth star, I would. The Breads & Spreads deal with unlimited laffa, dips, and small plates is out of this world. Some of my personal favorites are the spinach and artichoke dip, the marinated beets, the pickle plate, and the skordalia. I have literally been here for dinner three times in the past two months, and I try not to repeat restaurants. Israeli food is my favorite category of food, and is second atop my personal chart, right behind Zahav in Philly. You MUST come here (and with an empty stomach).
Be the first to ReplyNice food, great service.
Hummus is outstanding, and the breads are quite an experience, the way they are served (no more words, you have to try it). In the end, however, $43 for breads and appetizers seemed a bit pricey, especially when you go with kids (hence my four stars). There's only that much hummus they can have. Skewers we're exceptional, kind of small, but I'm a big eater. Worth going to, esp. if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

Had such a solid dinner here with friends!!! Service was awesome throughout the night even though we tend to drink a lot of water and asked for refills on lots of dips. For $35, you can get unlimited flatbread and dips, which is so worth. The hummus was incredible and I loved the citrusy salad as a palate cleanser. My boyfriend got the $65 option for 2 skewers and I got the $35 option for just the flatbread and dips and took one of his skewers (saved us $10 vs. both of us doing the $55 version). I wish we had ordered more meat but the flatbread and spreads had us bursting out of our pants at the end of the night.I would definitely recommend trying out this place!

The concept of a bunch of dips with pita sounds so boring but it was so good I ate too much I almost passed out. Can't remember my favorite dips but they were all really good. I want to come back here but it's probably not good for my health to eat like that.
Be the first to ReplyAwful.
Food was just okay. Tapas were so so. They charged my credit card and my friend's credit card multiple times- even 3 weeks later! Such a headache. My friend called to rectify the mistake and they told him to figure it out. Not professional.

Lamalo is a gem inside the Arlo NoMad Hotel serving delicious Middle Eastern food. Their $35/pp daily spread gives so much variety and each one DOES NOT MISS. Their laffa bread comes out hot and fluffy. You'll get to try the classic dips like labneh, tahini, baba ganoush, and hummus. But you'll also get to try so many other spreads - my personal favorite is their Skordalia (potato, almond, garlic, and chives).IT IS HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN MANHATTAN. Please go for a fun time I will be back for a third time hopefully for my birthday dinner.
Be the first to ReplyI was so intrigued by the daily spread.
It has everything that I wanted - bread, many kinds of dips, no ordering stress, a lot of surprises. My dinner mate had an emergency coming up so I ended up eating by myself, so I just had the daily spread as a no-brainer and good vibrations to drink. The spread came and it was beautiful. Everything was unique and flavorful. My favorites were the Skordalia (potato with garlic), Schug (such a pleasant surprise, spicy with a smoky kick), Baba Ganoush, and Hummus. The pickled veggies and herb salad were good refreshers and I made a little salad out of them with mushrooms, tahini, and Matbucha (red pepper in tomato sauce). I don't usually like Labneh but theirs tasted very clean, almost like Greek yogurt. The only thing I wasn't too much of a fan of was the Cauliflower Tabbouleh that tasted a little too raw for my likings.Overall, it was such a fun dining experience and I solely enjoyed my solo meal. Everything was good and the concept of being able to try everything made it even better.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was phenomenal.
Each dip was better than the next and paired well with each other. The presentation and the taste were incomparable to any other Mediterranean restaurant I've been to. I loved everything & I can't wait to come here again! Also shout out to our server - Ariel He was so nice!
