Las Palmas Tex-Mex Dallas Reviews from The Last Year
Amazing ambience with the best service.
Servers are always making sure everything is up to expectation to make your dining experience perfect. Love sitting outside when the weather is great. I never yelp but last palmas definitely deserves a good yelp review. Thanks y'all!
The Babe Routh of Tex-Mex
This place is really awesome. I am not a Tex-Mex expert or anything, and this was our first trip to Dallas. After an afternoon at the Dallas Museum of Art, we were looking for a Tex-Mex place. It may sound weird, but I like when a place says there is a 45 minute wait. They are popular! There were, however, tables outside with no wait. We were seated and had chips, two kinds of salsa, and water on our table within 1-2 minutes. Love that! We ordered a Mexican chopped salad and Wagyu Fajitas for two. The food came out very fast. I had a frozen house margarita. So good. The food was so amazing, and the portions were large. We have a lot of leftovers in the fridge right now, and I'm not sure if I can even sleep thinking about them.. Very classy place. I want to go back a lot of times, or maybe just visit all of the locations, so they don't think I'm weird or anything. I highly recommend this place.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Dallas.
Great margaritas and the Hugo special is awesome. Amazing queso. Make sure to get reservations weeks out.

I love Las Palmas every time! Been three times now and enjoy everything I've ordered: from fajitas, tortilla soup, brisket flautas, chips and salsa, seafood enchiladas. Food amazing. Service amazing and attentive each time as well. And love the ambiance!
Honestly not my favorite.
Super dark inside. Nice patio that's pet friendly. The food is average. We ordered across our table the wagyu fajitas, shrimp tacos, bacon wrapped shrimp, birria tacos. The margarita was good. Not great. The birria tacos a huge disappointment. They came with a type of sauce that was sweet. Not a cup of broth like they are traditionally. They were dry. My husband did not eat all of his dinner. The wagyu was good. However the homemade tortilla was not. They seemed undercooked and doughy. I'm guessing Texas has better options.
This place was pretty great.
Definitely a little more upscale than your normal Mexican place. The food was good but you're paying more for the vibe than anything else. Only issue was that the service was a little on the slow side. Hard to get the waiters attention. The sopapilla cheesecake sounds more delicious than it really is. The margs were ok.
VEGAN REVIEW- This place is classic, has been here forever.
We got to sit in the intimate patio, which is very lovely and dim. I got the vegetarian enchiladas plate and tried to make it as vegan as possible by asking for no cheese. I don't think the beans were vegan. I ordered a drink, but it really wasn't too strong. It was a lovely night. I guess the only thing that wasn't so great was the wait times- we actually went in and were seated immediately without reservation, but we waited a long time for a waiter to come, then waited a long time to place our order, then waited a long time to get our food. We had a second bowl chip chips and salsa arrive before our meal. Overall it was great, but the wait times could have been quicker.
Food was amazing and the service was awesome too.
We got the wagyu fajitas, the taco carbon, and the ceviche - all amazing!

Some of the best Tex Mex around plus is a cool place to have dinner with really good ambiance. Service is slow but that's almost expected at a place like this and the food totally makes up for it.
THE FOOD I ordered the Chicken Milanesa and French 75.
Both were lovely! The sauce on chicken was savory and the not spicy. The broccolini was a little undercooked and could've used more seasoning, but otherwise I would order again. THE SERVICE My party of 3 did not have a reservation, and were told the wait time would be over an hour on a Sunday evening. There were many tables (we counted about 10) that were completely empty. We decided to order our drinks at the bar and wait - the bartenders were extremely attentive and friendly and pulled up extra chairs for us so we could sit at the bar. After checking in with the hostess, we were able to secure a table upstairs (which was nearly 75% empty). For the weirdness surrounding not being able to get a table despite manyyyyy tables being open, I am rating it 4/5 stars. THE VIBES The ambiance was nice, but not too buttoned up.
Very nice restaurant.
Fajitas were good. Chips were stale. Had two margaritas-first one had no alcohol. But the valet was horrendous! It was raining and we would have been late for our reservation for the long valet line which was blocking traffic except I jumped out to go inside where lots of people were waiting to be seated. Then when leaving, valet took about 30 minutes to get our car. Yikes! Not going back.
Great Mexican food and good service
The food was great and the margaritas were strong! We had fajitas for our meal and a cheese quesadilla and the shrimp for an appetizer that our whole family shared. It is a very dark restaurant but we had a nice experience. We would eat here again. Thank you!
THE BEST fajitas in the world
Rarely do I say this is the best in the world, but these are the best fajitas I’ve ever had. order the waygu steak fajitas, medium, rare with the bone marrow butter. You can’t even feel the meat, the flavor, the quality absolutely the best! U will agree 100%
FAVORITE TEX MEX during my week here!
Atmosphere was so nuce, dark, inviting, kind of like your old school 80s restaurant but kept up well. Serice was second to none and the Food! I cant say enough. TRY the Mexican Pizza! I could have neded there, but then we had the Barrio Brisket Tacos and 1 Kobe steak taco that we shared. One thing was better than the next! And sometimes the rice nad beans gets overlooked in reviews, but I have to give a special shout out! So flavorful! Also, a amazing drink menu. We had our Sunday casual lunch here, but this would be a great special occasion place, date night, birthday etc. A must try in the Uptown neighborhood (big parking lot too)
Extremely disappointed in Las Palmas! Too many other Tex-Mex choices to bother with this place!
Really disappointing first (and last) visit. Everything about it was off. We were seated for a good 20 minutes before anyone came by to take our order. Started with margaritas, which arrived long after ordering (the table next to us, which was seated 10 minutes after we were, were waited on immediately and were served before us). The margaritas tasted like a cheap mix with barely a hint of tequila, odd taste, just awful...come on, it's not that hard to make a good margarita—if I can do it at home, a restaurant that is in the business of eats and drinks surely ought to be able to. Finally had our order taken, then waited a long time, meanwhile served more chips but not more salsa, so the chips were wasted. An order that was coming our way ended up being the order for the table next to us, served before us for the second time. I motioned to the waiter that we were still waiting. He asked us what we would like to order, even though we had already ordered—from him! Finally we got our food, which was "just OK." When we got the bill (which again, took a while), they had charged us $10 more for one of the dinners than the menu price. At that, I wrote some things on the receipt and left no tip. Probably the first time in my life I did not leave a tip! I would have disputed the charge, but I knew that would have taken even more time. Just a bad experience. And too bad—cool old building, nice vibe, nice interior. Big bummer!
