The views from the restaurant are amazing! Great food and service. Great cocktail menu, the Vieux Carré was excellent. I recommend the sea bass with burrata for an appetizer. Wine menu is limited. Highly recommend a sunset reservation here to your visit to Singapore.

Such an incredible experience with one hell of a view! My husband and I popped by on a Saturday night and somehow managed to land two seats at the without a reservation. We did have a bit of a wait, but if you know anything about LAVO it's typically booked up weeks in advance - so do yourselves a favor and just make one NOW. The bartenders were knowledgeable about more than just the drinks and kept us entertained throughout our entire visit. We hadn't planned on eating but after some conversation we decided we couldn't pass up the 1lb meatball - and so happy we didn't! Aside from the food/drinks the atmosphere is fit for any event or celebration. I'd be lying if I didn't mention one of the best parts about this place is the incredible view you get from the rooftop deck.

One way to get around buying tickets to SkyPark Observation Deck is to eat at LAVO. One of three rooftop restaurants at the Marina Bay Sands. Unfortunately, it was raining hard the night we went to LAVO. The rain did eventually stop, but the outdoor furniture was wet, and we could no longer enjoy our dinner out on the balcony like we wanted. So, our party of 4 ate dinner inside. Dinner was nothing to write home about. Like I mentioned, we were here to check out the view. Nonetheless, the food was good, the portions of the pastas and salads we ordered were fair, and the prices, honestly, were reasonable. We were pretty satiated after that but decided we would order a couple of desserts for the table to share. One of them was the 20-layer chocolate cake. I don't know why we all thought this was the kind of thin crepe cake layers because it was not. This massive chocolate cake was so large that even with 4 people, we were only able to eat half of it. As for service, our server was very nice and attentive. In fact, all the staff members we interacted with were all very nice. After we wrapped up dinner and paid the bill, we went outside on the balcony to take in the beautiful panoramic view of Singapore's skyline, the Gardens by the Bay and the Dome of the Esplanade below. Even though it was dark, we could still make out the Merlion. We spent a good amount of time up there, taking photos and enjoying the view.

This was a lively rooftop restaurant and bar at the Marina Bay Sands with gorgeous views. They had great music and just a great vibe overall. We made the reservations for the space alone and glad we did. Loved the ambience here, but the food was also wonderful. The service was a little inconsistent but it was also a busy dinner service during the holidays, so it was to be expected. It wasn't too extensive a menu but they had quite a few appealing items and the portions were all pretty big. The jumbo shrimp were certainly jumbo and very tasty. I really enjoyed the wagyu beef carpaccio, light and refreshing. The carne brick oven pizza was decent but nothing too special. The 20-layer chocolate cake was intimidating but totally worth it. We were pleased we were even able to finish 1/4 of the cake slice. Had some nice leftovers for late night snacks.

Seating area looks like a cheap buffet, right next to each other!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is not good at all.
It was the worse Italian food I had in a long time. The service was not great and he gave us a bit of attitude when we had to send back one of the plates that was just not up to the standard we expected from this restaurant. Observing the crowd I can see that people come here because of the name but do not be fooled. There much better places in Singapore. The view is nice and that is the only reason why it gets 2 stars.
Be the first to ReplyPoor service yesterday and I left.
The service was much better tonight. The food was plentiful and quiet good. The 20 layer cake and crab legs were expensive yet amazing! The checkin process was very long both days. The views are the best in the city. We got to view the lights show at 8pm and it was amazing.

(3.5/5, rounded to 4) Lavo is seated on top of Marina Bay Sands, at the security entrance right before you enter the infinity pool. It's a perfect brunch spot with the family or a date spot if you go at night. Expect higher prices because you're in MBS and it's an international household name, but the portions are at least very reasonable. I wasn't a fan of the pizza as the flavors were lackluster but the two pastas were both excellent, al dente and creamy! I wish we had time for dessert as I was eyeing the layered chocolate cake as soon as I opened the menu.

I have tried to make a dinner reservation for a group of 10 people on Sunday evening. They wanted a "minimum spending" of $200 each person. This is crazy considering their typical a la carte menu item pricing ranges from $30 to $60.

Definitely over priced, the 1st day I had the tuna tartare and it was good but not great and I had the eggplant rigatoni as an entree. The rigatoni was el dente and very tasty but definitely over priced and yes I do realize that I am paying for the view but how about a little bread with olive oil as something to start, I doubt that would break the bank. Today I am having the beef carpaccio and it is really very dry, I mean like shoe leather, so I am again underwhelmed. For an entree I am having the chicken parmesan and it is absolutely delicious but the presentation is so boring!Just a slab of chicken covered in cheese and no side of pasta. I would have to say the flavor is a 10 but the presentation is -10. If you're dropping over $200 for chicken parmesan and a couple of drinks you should at least be offered a little bread and pasta. That being said, the chicken parmesan is outstanding but I'm pretty sure you can find better Italian for the money in this city.Just saying.

Great for the views atop the Marina Bay Sands and the "lavo" tiramisu. The food and drinks were not bad, but also not the best. It's on the other side of Ce La Vi and for the more mature crowd if you know what I mean. Come here for the views and don't forget to check out the telescopes on the balcony!

I don't remember where this is or what I had but apparently I loved it. I just want to post this review so they at least get their stars.
Be the first to ReplyA breathtaking view with decent food.
We went here for a birthday dinner and arrived early to order a drink and enjoy the amazing views before dinner. I was craving pizza, but when we ordered, the waiter informed us there was no pizza - none! Maybe a glitch with the oven? The grilled octopus appetizer was super tender and lemony. The seafood Alfredo pasta was our favorite - rich, creamy sauce with fresh seafood. The sea bass was sadly bland - would not recommend ordering it. The staff and ambiance were all great. While I wouldn't go back for the food, I would go back for the views that can't be beat.

Lunch on the the top of Marina Bay Sands, excellent! Took a few pictures of the view from the outdoor area, but missed taking pictures of what we ate. I do have pictures of a half eaten lobster sandwich, fries and pizzza but decided not to post those :-).Visiting Singapore, it is almost a must to visit a bar, restaurant, on the the top of Marina Bay Sands. It is pricey, but the view is spectacular. The food and service was great also but took a back seat to experience/view.

My husband and I live in the US and were in Singapore to visit family and friends. We went to LAVO to celebrate our 12th year anniversary. The view was amazing and what saved this rating. We ordered lamb chops (medium rare), with fries for me and mashed potatoes for him. The chops had more fats than actual meat and came with the most undesirable sauce ever. The fats could be rendered more. We asked our server what sauce it came with and was told it was steak sauce. It was mighty sweet and didn't complement the lamb at all. She offered to bring us a different sauce and gave us a few options. I was disappointed that the options were either chimichurri, bearnaise or horseradish cream. I was hoping for something minty as that would complement the lamb tremendously or a red wine/port wine reduction sauce. So we ended up choosing the chimichurri and the bearnaise sauce to try out. The lamb tasted much better with the chimichurri than the original sauce it came with. Shouldn't the chef know which sauce to pair it with? Since we paid SGD88 for each plate, we expected much more. The other saving graces were the truffle fries and the desserts. My husband ordered the twenty layer chocolate and PB cake, while I ordered the panna cotta. Both were delectable. Overall, we were happy with the view, service and desserts. I wish I had ordered the barramundi instead.

Amazing food, views and service! They even congratulated us for our recent wedding. It was an overall amazing experience. I ordered the lobster roll and it was to die for. Wife ordered spaghetti and she loved it. Will definitely go again! Mojitos we're great too!

Second time visiting an MBS restaurant, the first being Cé La Vi, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the drinks were well-made and refreshing, and our server, Lalo was wonderful! He was so attentive, made great recommendations, was very friendly, and generally made us feel welcomed - he even remembered I mentioned it was my first visit to Singapore, so our dessert could be extra special!! We came for an after-work "dinner," and ordered a selection of appetizers but the standout was definitely the meatball, which was flavorful and tender in addition to being a unique presentation. We all got different drinks, but the dragonfruit cocktail was a favorite. We finished off with the chocolate cake which, while impressive, was a bit rich/sweet for my coworkers (as an American, I didn't mind the chocolate and peanut butter combo, or the sugar rush)!Food was amazing, view is unbeatable, and our service was exceptional! Well worth the visit.

Be the first to ReplyThis hotel was described to me as a MUST SEE in Singapore
This hotel was described to me as a MUST SEE in Singapore and one of the most iconic hotels in the world. We decided to get a meal on the roof top per a recommendation since the popular infinity pool is strictly only open to guests. You can not even see the pool from were it is gated off. While the recommendation was much appreciated the experience was underwhelming and the restaurant on a rainy day was over priced and over rated. No "wow" factor at all. Travel tip- Seeing the hotel itself is a must see. I recommend going to the botanical gardens before hand, and walking your way over. You get a lovely view on the bridge between the gardens and the hotel of the hotel, and the Ferris wheel. We arrived at Lavo between lunch and dinner and went for a drink. Since it had rained the patio outdoor seating was understandably closed there was only one tiny area off the side of the restaurant that you could see the view outdoors. It was down a few stairs and big enough for maybe 6 people to stand... and filled with smokers so we could not stay to enjoy it. The majority of the restaurant was indoors and on the top floor, but not what I would consider "roof top" as there was a roof above us. The name is questionable. It was just like any other restaurant in a high rise. Nothing special, or different from any of the hotel bars in Chicago. I ordered the Dragon Aperoyl spritz. It was very good. It was a $25, and they included nearly $5 in service fees so $30+ total for one drink. (That's quite a required tip for one drink.) All mixed drinks were $25. Wine ranged from $30-$48 a glass. Beers including Heineken and Guinness were $12, coffee was $8. Service was slow to give us the menu, but quick to take my unfinished drink and wipe down the table after 15 minutes before we were ready to leave. In general I do not mind paying $30 for a drink if it's an experience. But there was no experience. No wow factor. No roof top. Not even really time to sit and relax our legs from walking all day through the gardens. Price point largely dictates the expectations for my star ratings. A hole in the wall food stand with $3 pancakes is a different scale than a $30 per drink cocktail bar. If drinks were even $20 each my star rating would have higher, but at this price point I expected a LOT more... like a roof top. Over all the spot is Basic. I would would not make a point to see this spot. If you have time then it's nice. Over all the restaurant was lovely. Modern vibe and interesting drink menu typically 4 star hotel bar. It was not the Uber special iconic luxury that I was expecting, or that the price point warrants.

Gorgeous city views, you definitely should come here for the view and maybe sip a drink while doing so (skip food). We had salad, sandwich and truffle friesTruffle fries and salad were okay, sandwich was mediocre, tasteless and dry. Food and drink were a tad expensive ( $12USD for a bottle of peroni ) but REMEMBER you are paying for the location. Service was pretty sluggish and not very friendly, we felt rushed the whole time even though place was nearly empty. Be aware they charge 10% "service charge" to all checks and believe it or not our waiter told us they don't get it, Lavo takes it all. Interesting!Hey! Lavo, service charge should go to the servers!!!!! Thank you
Be the first to ReplyAn Italian restaurant with an incredible view of Singapore
An Italian restaurant with an incredible view of Singapore and the Marina Bayfront. For some reason the view itself here is one of my favorites at top the Marina Bay Sands. We had the seafood penne Alfredo, Tuna Tartare, Spinach Malfatti, and Brussel Sprouts. Drinks of course and for me it was a special occasion since it was actually an early Birthday dinner during my vacation. The service and atmosphere was perfect, the staff were so friendly and accommodating to us. If you've never had the opportunity to dine here, or anywhere at the Marina Bay Sands I suggest you do so, especially since you had a birds eye view of the spectra light show downstairs.
