Be the first to ReplyDisappointing food not up to par with the place
For the first time in the years that I have attended Le Procope it was a bad experience. (We go every time we are in Paris) We went for lunch, the receptionist is really not at the level of the restaurant, rude and not very empathetic (I clarify that I speak French), she did not give us table options, and she put us in the tea area (we attended without a reservation, although we never made a reservation we always arrived spontaneously, there were also spaces in other rooms, we were two people) The waiters were in a hurry And the food was really bad (salmon well presented but tasteless and soggy rice that looked like puree). It's really unfortunate that we won't be returning. I think it's a space that's worth it because of its history and not because of its cuisine.

Food was not prepared as ordered...very overcooked. Service was incredibly slow. The wait staff was very friendly and apologetic. It is a beautiful restaurant but overall I was disappointed.

This time we came as a family. The welcome is always so pleasant! The service is good, and the menu has changed but it was still good!

Horrible service, rude, rude people don't make any effort to provide good service. Even though I'm pregnant and have a baby in arms
Be the first to ReplyLovely lunch experience.
I had lunch here, in one of the oldest ( if not the oldest) restaurants in Paris, where the revolution was said to have been planned. It was a lovely experience, service was exemplary, and the food was lovely, and very reasonably priced, considering the ambience and surroundings. Coq au vin was tasty and plentiful, and the profiteroles were delicious. I would recommend this for a lovely, relaxing lunch.

Beautiful place, full of history and charm. Perfect service, romantic atmosphere and excellent food. Prices in line with the level of the restaurant. A visit is a must if you are Paris. We ate escargot, foie gras (divine), beef tartare and duck breast. For dessert, profiteroles (very abundant, perfect for sharing) and we drank a bottle of Bordeaux. We spent around 60 euros each.

Delicious and exceptional service. Snails were the best i had in all of france, coq au vin was well cooked and tender. Desserts all 10/10.

Amazing Service, Food, and Ambiance. If I lived in Paris I would become a regular. Prices were quite reasonable given the elegance of the service and food. I had the Coq au Vin specialty and it was amazing. I had wanted to visit this restaurant for years and pushed off thinking it was too touristy. While they did accommodate us non French speakers, the restaurant was filled with locals and not tourists. I really enjoyed this as did my wife. I will definitely return. Thank you to the staff and Hostess.

Visit for dinner with my husband, recommend to reserve in advance. Staffs are all friendly, and take care of us well. they noticed when we have done and continue next dishes. I visit around 7pm, Friday, not too busy. But if you come after 7pm , I noticed there were many tables that had to wait for their foods quite long. So far is good taste and recommend to eat here if you stay nearby Saint Geemain area.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for Birthday Lunch
We booked Le Procope for my birthday lunch, the whole experience was very good and service was high standard, in our group we had Escargot, WHOLE ROASTED GILTHEAD BREAM Chablis sauce, duchess potatoes, button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, and BEEF FILLET OF THE REVOLUTIONARIES Bordeaux sauce, French duck foie gras, shredded beef, gratin dauphinois, all the dishes tasted great and were served with french flare. This restuarant could not be more French, if it tried, ticked all our boxes, would happily return on our next trip to Paris.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food, excellent location - perfect service
I celebrated my 40th birthday here 10 years ago, and this year, we were back to celebrate my 50th. Of course, we've been a couple of times in the intervening decade, too! Le Procope never disappoints. Great food and drink (champagne, soup, beef cheeks, ice cream this time) and of course, the historic interior is a treat for the camera. But as other people here have observed, what makes it special is the impeccable service - the attentive staff really look after you.

We came because Google recommended for duck confi but this dish is not even on the menu which unfortunately we found out a while after waiting to sit down. 40 minutes wait to sit down which is fair enough on a Saturday evening. Very slow service though for a restaurant with a good reputation. our mains came after 1 hour of order. Food was ok but nothing that can justify the prices. Unfortunately it didn’t meet our expectations

I think this is one of the oldest restaurant in Paris, and the atmosphere is speechless. Is like a museum and must be visited

Dine like Napoleon. Vintage restaurant with quick service and fair prices. If it is your first time in Paris it is a must go place.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t waste your time
Don’t go there. The service is very bad. On the terrace we waited 1 hour only to order. And after that is history
1 waiter for 10 tables
Horror
The food was cold and we didn’t received what we order
If you go there you will waste your time !!
Don’t bother….
In Paris, where great dining experiences abound, I am surprised by all the favorable reviews. Our experience was painful and so dissatisfying. Came in early, ( we Americans do eat early!). Clearly a tourist trap trap with a long history. I ordered the 3 course menu with the leeks as in cream sauce as an app, the trout as the main and dessert. Hubs had the same but no dessert. Service was beyond slow and spotty. Female server acted exasperated at every turn. It never was clear who was responsible for what. Leeks were tasty but clearly had just come out of Avery cold frig; trout was room temp and dessert..who knows…never happened and voila there came the check. It just felt like I was witnessing a hot mess of disorganization and rudeness. A really lousy experience all around is a city known for great food and service.

Very nice and cosy place, excellent food and top service! Highly recommended for everyone visiting Paris

Billed as the oldest continually operated Parisian restaurant since 1686. Dine where the likes of Benjamin Franklin, Rousseau, Verlaine and Victor Hugo have sat. two entrances front and back. We went mid-afternoon and were quickly seated. Cuisine was traditional french with both very good Beef Bourguignon and Sole Meuniere. We finished off with profiteroles covered with hot chocolate. Nice wine list with several reasonably priced wines. While the food was good the historical ambience was the true star.
Be the first to ReplyAvarage food, bad service.
Food was avarage…service arrogant. I don’t feel like even writing a proper review. Just avoid this place. It’s a tourist trap.
