Very good food.
Get THE BREAD! Was amazing. We shared a plasma and a seafood. Good food. The place was totally empty on a Fri night. Hope it survives. Nice ambiance with dark lighting - good for dates.

Be the first to ReplyLoved the Foie Gras, it was bay far the best I've ever had.
The service was excellent. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay and eat an entrees, but can't wait to go back.

Went here with a friend the other day and it was SO delicious!! We tried this snapper ceviche and it had grapefruit and toasted hazelnuts, which sounds so unusual but tasted amazing! We sat at the bar, it was early so the place was pretty empty. The bar tender served us and he was very friendly and helpful. The vibe here is really cool and chill. Definitely feels like you stepped back in time, in a good way!
Be the first to ReplyThis was the best meal I have ever had in my entire life.
The chicken and duck was a 10/10. I will never experience this again for the first time and I wish I would. Great food and great atmosphere I will be back again
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely top class restaurant! What a find.
Booked The Drawing room for a private dinner in September and it was a joy to work with Legacy Records Event Director and her team to ensure our evening was a huge success. Nothing was too much trouble, Jill and her team know how to do hospitality. The organisation prior, the food on the evening, the service, the ambience - everything was superb from start to finish. Highly recommend.

The vibes and atmosphere is hands down worth the trek to this part of town. It's dim and the music is not loud but not quiet either. Came on a Thursday after work and it was filled during and after our stay. We got the heirloom tomato to start, shared the honey roast duck and rabbit agnolotti (they split it for us) for mains, and got a scoop of the stracciatelli gelato and fig gelato. The heirloom tomato salad was the highlight for me personally - tart, sweet, and sour - it was a great way to start the meal. The duck was well cooked and the extra bit of Parmesan on top of the rabbit-puree filled agnolotti was great. The fig gelato was unique - pieces of fig was cut up and placed underneath and on top of the scoop. The oil (green) and chocolate added great flavor complexity and texture. Great service, great meal, and great spot for a date night or girl's night.

I attended this place for a dinner one evening with some family. The sommelier was brief in his introductions and I ordered an espresso martini. The drink arrived before the food and felt like a void of any or heart. There wasn't an enjoyment drinking it. The wine was exquisite. It was a dark red but clear and light-hearted that I could enjoy as we ate by not being overbearing. We ordered the legacy bread and prosciutto for starters followed by a special of the black truffle pasta and the wagyu flatiron. To end our meal we had a decadent chocolate cake with some crumbled granola with vanilla cream. The pasta was oily and buttery. The truffles themselves had immense flavour but was masked by the fat of the pasta. The wagyu, although was season right, was tough and not as tender as I would of hoped the meat to be. I loved the dessert. It was crafted well and I couldn't put my spoon down. I felt like a goat rummaging around the plate of he granola fields scurrying as much into my mouth.

Had a very pleasant experience when I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The host/hostess at the front were super sweet, they knew who the reservation was for before even telling them and they offered to check our coat/bags right away. The place inside is beautiful, the vibes are great , the furniture and colors go along so well with each other which enhanced the experience. We went with the approach of getting different things off the menu to share. Starting off, we got the legacy bread paired with the Stracciatella - already off to an amazing start. The bread was delicious, soft, and savory, and the cheese was creamy, sweet and savory. 10/10. Then, we also got the Ravioli, Tortellini, and the slow roasted cauliflower. Ratings? Ravioli 11/10, Tortellini 8/10, Cauliflower 8/10 (nothing crazy). All three were really yummy.Disclaimer, the sizes of the plates are very small. It was a good amount of food, but definitely get the bread and stracciatella to start off which will help make you feel more satisfied! Our waiter Zack(h)? was lovely. Very attentive and on top of everything. First time i go out and my glass of water was always full and our plates were removed promptly.Overall, 10/10 experience. Looking forward to coming back and trying out more things from the menu.

This spot is a little hidden on the far west side of Manhattan. The food is excellent (the pasta is amazing) and they have lots of options if you have food restrictions in your group. The service is excellent and it's a cool concept. They play excellent music.

Can only speak for the service and drinks. Can't speak forThe food.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but pricey.
They charge $12 for bread and butter and it's not listed on the menu from what I recall. Wished the portion sizes were a bit bigger for the apps as well. Decor was really nice. Please update your menu prices on your website.

Long been on my to do list but had such a strange experience this week. Upon arrival staff seemed very at odds as to why we were there (we had a 9pm booking) and the place was very quiet. They aggressively rushed us to order in such an unpleasant way and turned off the music halfway through the meal as if to rush us out. This is an expensive restaurant and while the food was unremarkable, the service was so unwelcoming that I wouldn't want to return, nor recommend to anyone else that they do.

I had a reservation and they within 48 hours just sent a text saying sorry we took a private event. We can book at a sister restaurant. And provided none of them. Bad customer service.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant has a cool lounge vibe.
The food was very good but small portions for the price.
Be the first to Reply3.5*sI visited Legacy Records recently for a private event
3.5*sI visited Legacy Records recently for a private event that was held in The Test Kitchen. I entered the room and found myself face-to-face with a modern kitchen full of staff diligently preparing our meal. I passed through that section and entered a cozy space known as "The Drawing Room", which resembled a classy library or actual home dining room. There was a small bar set up in the corner, where a bartender was making basic cocktails and pouring glasses of wine. The center of the space was composed of two custom, teak tables that were joined together to make one long rectangle, which later allowed us to easily go around the room and share our stories. We had a brief cocktail hour with a few passed hors' d'oeuvres. I had a glass of crisp prosecco and saw various items, like sliced prosciutto on toast, being passed. However, with all of the chatting happening, I was only able to try a spoonful of diced Long Island Fluke, which was served like a tartare with coconut, lime, cashew. It was very refreshing. Once we sat at the table, there were some other raw bar items on offer, including the Diver Scallops that I sampled. The scallops were thinly sliced carpaccio-style, cured in lemon and brown butter, and topped with diced pistachios that added a necessary crunch. There were also large rolls, seeded bread, and a bowl of hand-pulled and seasoned mozzarella, which were delightful treats before our substantial meals arrived. Servers also came around with white and red (Chianti) wine to enjoy with our starters. Our first plated course was a Gem Lettuce Salad topped with shaved radishes, hard Parmesan, and sliced peaches. The dish was fine, but the peaches were already turning brown and mealy. Given that the type of fruit was currently in-season, it was disappointing to see that it was not fresh. Next came the Agnolotti pasta course with a mild broth, as well as mushrooms and corn. The dish was light, but had a robust, earthy flavor, making it my favorite part of the meal. Next, came our main courses of either a dry-aged ribeye or duck. I opted for the Honey-Lacquered Duck, which was served with 2 measly turnips sliced in half and a few pieces of crispy greens. The one large slice of duck breast had a very seasoned top layer of skin, but since that was right over the thin line of fat, I really did not eat much of it. Then, the meat itself was just bland. There were also plates of side dishes available to the group, including sautéed mixed mushrooms and broccoli rabe, which had been cooked in chili, garlic, and lemon. Of these two, I only sampled the mushrooms, which were aromatic and flavorful. Lastly, came a big bowl with 2 scoops of vanilla gelato and a pignoli cookie. The cookie had a bunch of almond paste in it, which allowed it to infuse the ice cream with nuttiness. It was heavenly.Overall, I found the service very professional and tasteful, but the food good...but not great.
Be the first to ReplyI had the opportunity to visit Legacy Records earlier in
I had the opportunity to visit Legacy Records earlier in the week for a team dinner. The experience was certainly memorable, though not necessarily in the best of ways.Legacy Records is nestled in a somewhat deserted part of the Hudson Yards area, but is (in my view) an up-and-coming establishment, with a handful of areas to improve upon. When my party entered, I immediately noticed the hip clientele and ambiance. Legacy Records is impeccably decorated and their bar and seating area is incredibly swanky. The music is loud and trendy, the kind of music you'd want to blast over your Friday / Saturday evening dinner before going out (thus, a tad too loud for a random Tuesday). That said, I appreciated it. My main qualm was with the service. Our server was nice but almost felt a bit pushy about getting us to order at the onset. When asking for recommendations, he literally called out every item on the menu (which, by the way, is a completely useless thing to do--if everything is so good you may as well have recommended nothing). Yet, despite being so pushy to get us to order, once we actually ordered our drinks, it took OVER half an hour to even get them. Makes absolutely zero sense. The drink that took the longest time to prepare was a simple club soda with cranberry juice (apparently they were 'trying to find cranberry juice' for over half an hour which caused the disruption). Ultimately, the drink had no cranberry juice in it. Then, it took at least 3 attempts to get our waiter to even take our order. We had to flag down other servers to help capture his attention too. Once we ordered, the wait wasn't quite as terrible, but we were disappointed to see the portion sizes when the food came out. We realized we'd severely under-ordered in our view--the pasta dishes are tiny, so even if you plan to order family style it's worth just getting a dish per head. The food itself was good. Nothing to write home about but no major qualms either (though the branzino is quite disturbing with the head still on). We went overboard ordering desserts by the end (3 tiramisu, 3 panna cotta, 1 olive oil ice cream) because of how hungry we still were. Anyhow, overall, I'd rather the experience three stars but would like to note that service was close to a 1.5-2 (at least the servers weren't rude). But the inattentiveness, the useless recommendations, and the contact bumping into our hands / dropping silverware (on many occasions...) was a major bother. We all had work to turn back to that evening yet somehow what was supposed to be a 1.5-2hr dinner turned into a 3+ hour one due to the slow service. That said, I'd perhaps return for drinks only as I appreciate the swanky vibes.

After a hiatus for the pandemic, Legacy Records has reopened. The cocktails and crudos continue to be the stars, but the pastas and other menu selections are terrific too. As would be expected at a spot named Legacy Records the playlist is awesome. Fun spot.
Be the first to ReplyWe had such a great meal and experience here.
First of all, the atmosphere is beautiful -- modern, sleek, and simple. The staff is so friendly and lively -- our server, Vito, was the best. He was so personable, attentive and shared great meal recommendations. We shared: half dozen oysters (from NY) -- so delicious, fresh and creamy, razor clams -- YUM, small pop of spice with fresh clams and cucumbers, legacy bread -- so crispy and light, spaghetti limone -- unreal, cooked to "Al Dente" perfection, and perfect balance of lemon, veal saltombuca -- incredible, tender, pounded thin with salty prosciutto, and asparagus special with goat cheese sauce -- amazing, crisp, fresh, and perfect goat cheese touch without it being too much (as goat cheese can sometimes be).We will definitely be back!

I was treated like royalty! Thank you for the excellent service we felt we were the only ones in the restaurant we were so well cared for.
Be the first to ReplyWent here with coworkers after an event.
We ordered the crudo, most entrees, and two bottles of wine to share. Everything tasted amazing and we saw one of the actors from greys anatomy here. If it wasn't on the company, I wouldn't have come here. Cool atmosphere, great food, not approchable or affordable for most people.

One of the best dining experiences I've had in 20+ years of living in NYC. The food was incredible - we ordered the cavatelli, heritage chicken, one of their special pastas and several starters. Beyond the food though, what impressed us the most is the exceptional service. The friendliness, timing, and attention to detail is a rarity in NY restaurants. This place knows what they are doing - choreographed precision from the moment you walk in. The wine list and music selection is also A+. Definitely returning here!
