Lisboeta London Reviews
We are planning a revisit because it is SO worth it
This was an impromptu dinner for a birthday, with no booking, and we were accepted with open arms. Firstly, this place is expensive, but it’s in London Fitzrovia, so how cheap is it likely to be? We spent a lot of money, however, we walked away not thinking we’d spend that money, but how good the evening there had been. Our dining experience was excellent because: * The service was personal, it was attentive, it was all the things that make up Excellent service * The food was SO tasty, particularly the Iberico ham (meat), crab tart, monkfish & olive oil cake * We had A LOT of recommendations, and they were all on the nose, with items that we probably would not have chosen * The location and ambiance (we sat outside) was just perfect for a July evening We would love to go back there and reengage with Thomas (our guy) and the rest of the team. The experience was EXACTLY what we were looking for that night :-D
Great food
Had a very good lunch at Lisboeta, a stylish Portuguese spot on iconic Charlotte Street. The food was impressive—from the bacalhau and garlic prawns to the lamb, mushrooms, and crispy kale, all smartly plated for sharing. Good wine selection and perfectly matched the vibrant flavors. A great place to enjoy modern Portuguese cuisine with flair and warmth.
Incredible flavours & service
We shared the chefs selection & fine wine pairing as a couple visiting London The food was fantastic, the flavours were incredible with stand outs being the pork & cod. The fine wine pairing was good, however at £60 each it felt over priced for three glasses wine. Absolute stand out was the service - particular mention of Mila who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience! We'd definitely recommend for a special couples night out in london
Nice but portion too small
The food is good, blending in the traditional Portuguese cuisine with some inspiration. Service is excellent, the waiter that served us was helpful but not pushy. My only complaint is the portion is too small, the Port Presa that cost £62 is supposed for two people, but you can tell from the picture that it’s one person version. We spent £160 for a lunch of three people without consuming any drinks
Disappointing food quality and overpriced
We had dinner with a few friends after reading great reviews and knowing the area is known for its vibrant atmosphere and quality restaurants. Service: Excellent – the staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. This was the only highlight of our evening. Food: Disappointing. Overpriced and lacking in both flavor and quality, especially considering the high ratings (still surprised). As someone from a Mediterranean background, I expected much more. The 300g Iberico pork presa for £60 (meant for two) felt like a joke in terms of quantity. All the sides were average and lacked flavor. The olive pie needs improvement, the arroz with gambas lacked depth, and the shrimp from the smaller plate tasted fishy – and not in a good way. Overall, we won’t be returning unless the food quality is significantly improved to match the prices. £80 pp with a bottle of wine and beers.
I’ll be back.
Food is delicious, creative, interesting and hearty. Very nice wines too. Lovely warm, friendly ambiance. The specials no doubt delicious were off putting with their eye watering prices.
Amazing food and service
Recent visit for my birthday was just wonderful. The food was divine - the duck rice, in particular. The service was super friendly and they handled my gluten allergy perfectly. We left in the pouring rain and sleet but the warmth of our welcome left us smiling all the way home.
Ambient but over-priced
This is a high end expensive restaurant, which I would recommend to some of my foodie friends who probably have more money than sense. Some of the food was very good but some of it was just too expensive for what it was. Three undercooked (near raw in fact) prawns for £36 was just too expensive and they were not even that good. Thankfully there were some good wines available by the glass, which led us to buy a bottle of a passably good red. The Park Juice red though was an awful flimsy concoction, which we gave up on after one sad glass. This was not good value wine at £62 a bottle. Our group of four left having had a mixed experience, some enjoying it very much and others feeling a bit disappointed. We all liked the ambience and the easy going nature of the first floor dining room, but sadly not all of us will ever be back.
Great food and service
We really enjoyed every dish ordered from the menu (from the snacks through to the desserts) The service provided by Bec was amazing, who had a very good knowledge of the food and drinks with great recommendations.
Take yourself to Charlotte Street to be transported to Lisbon
What a lucky find, a short walk from the British Museum. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, the service and above all the food! We chose the 2 course option and shared both plates. Mushroom acorda outstanding in its depth and flavour; perfectly cooked monkfish sitting in a silky pumpkin soup; Iberico pork that evoked summer barbeques, happy times and the delightful mix of confit cod, onions, egg topped with such delicious string potatoes - what a selection!
Nice not wow
However, I am not sure if this was a one-off, but it wasn't an unforgettable culinary experience. It was just lovely and expensive for what it is. Maybe will try again one day.
There was nothing about the menu that was Portuguese.
The food was nice but extremely overpriced for the ingredients that were used, which was not worth it there was nothing about the menu that was Portuguese, don't get me started on the wine menu the most overpriced Portuguese wines I have ever seen they are selling bottles upwards of £60 that you can buy in any Portuguese shop from £15-£20. White wine was placed away from the table in an ice cooler, which is fine, but this only works if the waiter tops up, on this occasion, it seems like he forgot about us. I was about to get up to go and get the bottle when he suddenly runs into the room, and then started to top up. Not what I expected. But the icing on the cake was we were forced to order dessert because they wanted the table for somebody else as we overstayed our welcome. £120 per person, don't think it's worth it. therefore, I would not recommend it to anyone.
Brillant food fantastic flavours
Fantastic food amazing flavours, bought main out when still eating starter. Then finished main then they bought sides. One down side the barman - sneezed twice in his hands behind bar walk passed sink didnt wash hands and continued to lay table out at window pour drinks and serve veryoff putting a dirty!!!!!!
Great night out
Incredible! Initially looking at the menu beforehand tbh none of what was on offer would be anything I’d go for. But my bro in law (who’s Portuguese) took us here and I left him to order. EVERY plate was delicious. Cocktails as well were great and the staff were top notch! Would love to visit again and highly recommend this to anyone. We had such a great night!
One of the best meals in London!
This meal was exceptional! Every single dish was fantastic and full of flavour - it was hard to pick a favourite but the prawn pastel de nata was truly inspired and deliciously decadent. Our server Nuni was a delight and took excellent care of us, always ensuring we were enjoying our food and had full glasses. It was a memorable and highly enjoyable meal, and one I won't soon forget.
Another memorable visit
After the first time (with clients) I promised my wife I'd take her and booked for her birthday. It's a coin toss as to what's more impressive, the incredibly tasty and different food or the service. We ordered a variety of dishes including: - prawn on toast and cod skin for starters - Bachalau and pork sharers - Halibut and cavelo nero as our shared main - pork fat custard and maria biscuit cake (bolo de bolacha) for dessert It's too difficult to pick the best dish so just a few highlights. The Bachalau with egg yolk was very moorish and perhaps we should have ordered two. The pork fat custard was unlike dessert I've had before and in the very best way. We were looked after by very attentive, knowledgeable staff and I am (almost) certain we'll be back again this year.
Tasty and great service!
Food was good! The portions were quite small but that's not unusual in a high class restaurant! Flavours were good. Would recommend the pork starter, cabbage, prawn rice and olive oil cake with the pairing. Service was good. My partner did say that some of the dishes could have been served at a higher temperature (pork pie and pork starter). Nice experience!
A delight
Great busy atmosphere and really friendly staff. Innovative cooking and flavoursome dishes , all was extremely tasty and not your run of the mill Portuguese restaurant . Huge choice of wines. Gluten free not a problem .
Best lunch
Well we have discussed this and this was the best lunch we have had in recent memory . Ordered all the snacks then all the starters and treated as sharing dishes The wine is expensive - too expensive but the food is stunning as was the service. Gut called Francisco - brilliant
