Amazing, spectacular, 10/10 bucket list restaurant

5/5 by 👻 @Kiki H. on 08/25/2025

Amazing, spectacular, 10/10 bucket list restaurant experience. This place is such a vibe! Lots of seating inside and outside but why sit inside when there are such stunning views on the patio?? We made reservations at least four months in advance and I highly recommend doing that because it was very busy in May. Service was excellent. Everything we ate was spectacular! The lobster pasta was the real stand out but the ravioli, pomodoro salad, and frittura all'italiana were also amazing. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. So happy we got to try this restaurant and if I ever come back to the Amalfi coast, I would love to visit here again!

The perfect fresh lunch to break up our boat trip

5/5 by 👻 @Sophie Goodlass on 08/08/2025

My partner surprised me with lunch here on my birthday - he didn’t realise I had been desperate to try this place after seeing it on Stanley Tucci’s food tour programme. We visited by boat, a small boat owned by the restaurant came to collect us from our boat and we entered the restaurant deck from below. A great entrance! We were greeted by friendly service, a great table and very attentive staff. I had seen many reviews about rude staff or slow service but we experienced neither of these! We were admittedly a little seasick from the boat so kept our order simple - spaghetti pomodoro and the fresh seabass that came to the table whole and was then filleted table side and serviced with potatoes and olives. Both were delicious, fresh and perfect for lunch. The restaurant itself was busy, with many couples and families enjoying lunch. A very nice atmosphere. Chocco the very large dog that sleeps at the restaurant was the cherry on top of our visit!

Average food in a spectacular location - hence very expensive for what you get.

3/5 by 👻 @Seamus K on 08/05/2025

Food is tasty but highly overpriced. The views from the restaurant across the harbour are beautiful and this is its main selling point. We had a modest 2 course dinner with no wine and it came in at €200. We had expected this based on the other recent reviews. It’s a lovely spot based on its location, but food is only average and poor value for money.

We actually visited twice during our stay in Nerano. The lunch was a bit odd as we sat for about 20 minutes with no water no menus nor service. Once we got service it was spectacular - great food and great wine from the local area. Couple of days later we went for dinner and it was incredible the food is so fresh, the service was great they were attentive but not over bearing. The location is a dream on the coast. Highly recommend as it is situated in a bit of a sleepier town on the Amalfi

5 star Michelin traditional Italian Cuisine in a dreamy seaside village on the Amalfi Coast

This is hands one of the best fining experience we had on the Amalfi Coast! In Marina del Cantone in Nerano you will enjoy fresh seafood dishes & local cuisine with killer views! The restaurant sits on the water! Stanely Tucci features this fine eatery on his series " Searching for Italy "

The service was amazing. An American mom and 3 kids 18,15 and 6. They treated us perfectly and even catered to my little one bringing iced butter for his bread. We had the zucchini pasta of course, a bottle of local white wine the sea bass, the ravioli the lemon delight as well a espresso affogato. Everything was perfect we couldn't have been happier.

One of the highlights of our trip to Italy the final stop

5/5 by 👻 @Karen D. on 05/30/2025

One of the highlights of our trip to Italy the final stop after a day in the Amalfi Coast note quite the drive to this restaurant & we found parking in the lot but we were also advised we were early in the season. Our group of 4 enjoyed a memorable meal starting with the appetizer sampler, also eggplant followed by the Spaghetti alle Zucchini the spaghetti with zucchini featured on the CNN Stanley Tucci episode and was worth every bite-very rich & so good, two friends enjoyed fish caught that day and then we all shared the chocolate mousse dessert with orange liqueur, truly a memorable experience in beautiful Amalfi coast region of Italy

Food is good, ( no place is bad down in conca di Nerano). In my opinion, if you are not a local or a celebrity, you get the last in line. Booked the table 2 weeks earlier, table for 8 outside in the terrace, and I had to argue to get the table. Two over two is not a coincidence.

Beautiful location out in the water overlooking the beach and the town. We were here years ago and came back after seeing Tucci's trip here. The food was all good and pasta was delicious. It's a bit more expensive than you would pay elsewhere. Maybe more tourists now ? We had our own car so the ride down wasn't bad at all and there's parking nearby.

Had a bit of Skepticism after a couple of the reviews, but

5/5 by 👻 @Eric K. on 06/22/2024

Had a bit of Skepticism after a couple of the reviews, but I can clearly state that my experience was the furthest thing from bad. It was spectacular. Started with the Oysters. While I'm not an oyster guy, they were outstanding. Calamari was arguably the best I've ever had. Forget the fried circles and standard tentacle pieces you are used to. These were the most tender almost flash fried Calamari I've ever had. Simple preparation of Salt and a beautiful lemon to squeeze to taste. No sauce needed. The Spaghetti alle Zucchine was as good as Stanley Tucci described. I'm not a zucchini person but obviously had to try it and it may have been one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Wife had tbe spaghetti with Sea Urchin which was amazing and my daughter had some kind of Ravioli dish which was stellar. I wish we stayed longer for more food and dessert but we're on a tight schedule as we had chartered a boat for the day and were running a bit low on time in the afternoon. As others stated, the servers seemed a touch rushed but the place was jammed packed and they did their best. When they were focused on our table they were great. Zero complaints other than I'm upset I didn't try more! 5 stars!

The food here is exceptionally expensive .

3/5 by 👻 @Adam B. on 06/04/2024

.. one of the priciest restaurants we ate at in Italy. We don't mind paying for quality, if everything meets expectations. However, the service left a terrible taste in our mouths, even if the food ranged between terrible ... below average ... to amazing, depending on the dish. I will start off by saying that parking is a mess. It seems most people arrive by boat from Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi, etc. so not much parking is needed. There is no valet parking and street spots are impossible to find. The crowd here was the 'fanciest' crowd we had seen in any of the restaurants we dined in. They were all dressed to the nines and were a classy bunch. (There is a case when you walk in showcasing Ferrari memorabilia.) It is quite a drive through hills and small towns to get here by car. There were four of us and upon being seated, we asked for a table with a better view of the sea, only to be told that the tables nearest to the water were not being used at this time. Only 10 minutes later, they seated a party the same size as ours at one of the tables we asked for. Rude. (We did have a reservation and were not a walk in.) The biggest problem we had was the service. Maybe because we are English who speak competent but slow Italian, they dismissed us. But we were clearly forgotten about compared to other diners. Often we had to flag down waiters to ask for simple items, as nobody checked in on us. It seemed that 3 different waiters served our table and none of them seemed particularly friendly or went out of their way to ask how our food was. We felt dismissed and forgotten compared to the service directed towards others, who seemed like regulars. As for the food: - Fried appetizer plate (zucchini blossoms, potato balls and some kind of weird cheese wonton) were terrible. One of the worst things we ate on our trip. We have had better food at the carnival. - Spaghetti with zucchini (this was the 'famous' dish from the Stanley Tucci show) ... lived up to the hype. It was excellent. It had a very buttery/creamy taste. Almost like cacio e pepe with zucchini instead of sharp cheese. This was the best dish of the meal but so filling! - Roasted fish. This was prepared near our table as the waiter removed the meat from the bone and served our table. It was good ... nothing too special and we did find a couple pin bones in our serving, so if you order this, chew carefully before swallowing. - Fresh tomato salad. This was 3 - 4 heirloom tomatoes sliced into wedges and served tossed in olive oil and salt. A close second to the spaghetti for favorite dish. This may have been the best side dish we ate in Italy. - Lemon Delight. Virtually tasteless except for the sugar. It was basically pound cake and whipped cream. We never would have guessed it contained lemon, except for the pale yellow colour. This was a waste of calories. The second worst dish, next to the fried appetizer. - King prawns on lemon leaf ... Average bordering on above average. They were very fresh and cooked well. However, they weren't as big as expected for a king prawn and this dish wasn't amazing, or very filling. It was listed as an entree but is more like an appetizer. Overall, this was our most anticipated meal of our trip ... but sadly, our biggest let down. The meal was overall average for the price. Maybe we came on a bad night ... or maybe they just don't like tourists as we felt very unwelcome and not at all like guests. They have been around for a long time and obviously have lots of regular customers, so I am sure they are much better normally than the night we came. I hate to write a review like this for a restaurant which receives so much praise from others but wanted to be honest about our experience. Honestly, we were going to rate only 2 stars but gave 3 because we think we came on a bad night for the staff.

Visited this restaurant twice during our stay in the region. Was a fabulous experience both times. Seafood, appetisers and of course, the spaghetti alle zuchinne, were all amazing. The famous spaghetti alle zuchinne was creamier and richer than I was expecting. Delicious. View and atmosphere was fantastic. Had great service both times, unsure what other reviewers were concerned about. Wine list was also impressive. We were recommended a delicious wine thanks to the waiter’s expertise. 2/5 by 👻 @Livio G on 04/07/2024

Lovely place, friendly staff, more than good service. The quality/price ratio is surprisingly low, not because of the quality which is still medium/high, but because of the costs which are truly excessive. Let's ignore the 18 euros for the mussel pepper, let's close our eyes to the 20 euros for a plate of spaghetti with courgettes and the 28 euros for spaghetti with clams..... but you can't ask for 13 euros for a slice of cake (tiramisu or caprese). I won't go back!

It could have been such a beautiful evening.

1/5 by 👻 @Willi Graf on 04/02/2024

Finally found a nice restaurant, right by the sea on a jetty. The ambience appears to be very upscale and a look at the prices on the menu confirm this. And then the food comes 10 minutes after ordering... the fish smells, the squid is almost raw and the steak (we ordered it more than medium rare for our son) is also almost raw. No spices on the food. There was a lack of salt, pepper and spices like paprika and rosemary. In short: there was a lack of love for food. The fries weren't completely cooked through, still tasted raw inside and the salt had been completely omitted here too. The salad and bread were good. So you can only assume that the cook in the kitchen had already finished work. Yes, we complained and shared what we didn't like. Thanks for acknowledging it from the waiter. Conclusion: for 155.00 euros you can only warn about the restaurant!

Lo Scoglio means, 'no problem' in Nerano-ese...

4/5 by 👻 @Ross V on 10/29/2023

We were looking for a restaurant with a room to celebrate a milestone birthday. Lo Scoglio did not disappoint. We booked directly with the hotel and the accommodations were the most comfortable of any hotel we have stayed at in Italy over 42 years of traveling here. The in room air conditioning made for cozy sleeping, plenty of storage and double paned glass doors leading to the veranda to keep things nice and quiet. Typically beds in 3 and 4 star hotels in Venice, Milan, Bologna, Stressa, Lake Cuomo, even the Hilton property in Rome was a 'tad firm' and have been more like sleeping on box springs. Our bed at Lo Scoglio was quite comfortable a thick foam technology mattress so that no matter which side one sleeps on it is comfortable. This was our first visit to the Amalfi Coast. The scenery is spectacular, if you like sheer cliffs rising from an aqua blue sea. The room included a broad terrace with a view of the Mediterranean and surrounding mountains. We booked our stay for 4 days and nights, just to get a real feel for the place, and we enjoyed three dinners at the restaurant and visited the other restaurants and cafés along the marina for dinner and lunch and each place was well staffed, friendly and prompt, and as any seasoned traveler can attest, the enjoyment of the food is also about the location and expectation. Upon our arrival we were able to join the chef in the kitchen in preparing our rendition of the Spaghetti de Nurano (with zucchini) and I can see why Stanley and his bride were so impressed. Lo Scoglio is indeed a long way to go for simple (but not simplistic) food, but if you can afford to find yourself in this remote part of the world, why not 'do as the Romans do'? It is something one can take home and prepare with ease--once you know how--and savor the memory and the flavor of Massa Lubrense. The service we received was preambled with 'no problem' and indeed there were no problems. The pace of the place is quite serene, it is a family run business and their attention to a no hurries, no worries, attitude it is definitely 'beach o'clock' at Lo Scoglio and the pace suited us just fine. The hotel hired our drivers to and from Napoli (we paid handsomely for them, but to NOT drive to get there was worth every euro). We took a local bus to Sorrento one day totally great, but getting home included hiring a Taxi, but it was an expense well worth it. The last night, having tired of pasta and seafood, we ordered the carne--steaks, filets and were treated to a very nice portion and the red wine recommendation was perfect with our meal. To be sure, this is not 5 star accommodation and I didn't see a Michelin plaque, and they make no pretense about that, but we were prepared to embrace the experience with an open mind and with the help of the wonderful staff, especially Nino, we were treated like stars. I would recommend it as a restaurant with a room as one will not want to navigate the roads after a hearty meal and a bottle of wine. If you go for lunch, leave yourself plenty of daylight to egress from the locale. I think Lo Scoglio may be a bit overwhelmed by the fame of being a favourite of Stanley Tucci, but we would have missed it and a really pleasant time in a place in Italy we never would have visited otherwise.

We stopped here for lunch yesterday during an amazing day

3/5 by 👻 @Mark G. on 07/29/2023

We stopped here for lunch yesterday during an amazing day boating with my family to celebrate my wife's 50th. I have heard a lot of great things about this place and it was one of the stops during our Italy trip I was really looking forward to. I made reservations well ahead and mentioned my wife's bday via email. I also mentioned it to the hostess as we were getting seated. The Good -Amazing location with spectacular views. -Great wine list (we had a marvelous bottle of french rose). -Caprese salad was the best I have had in my 2 weeks in Italy. The tomatoes were so good we ordered their "tomato salad" also just to have more of their tomatoes. -Tiramisu desert was also very good, minus the manner in which it was served. - My sons seafood risotto was fresh and full of seafood flavor. The Ok - The menu had "fresh seafood" as an app. This dish is oysters and clams on the half shell. The description is misleading. They were good but a was a miss for my wife who does not eat raw oysters. - The famous zucchini pasta was just ok. pasta cooked very well for sure but the zucchini flavor did not come through at all. it tasted more cheesy than zucchini. I was disappointed in this as perhaps I had wrong expectations of a fresher lighter dish. really nothing special in my view. The Bad - Service sucked!! - Our server was always in a hurry and did not provide great hospitality befitting the reputation and menu cost. He seemed bothered by our questions and not interested in serving us. here is one example of several. My wife nicely asked him to take a photo of our table and I said in a jovial manner that I also want one when the famous zucchini dish comes out. He turns around says "ok we wait till your dish comes out" and simply walks away. Dismissive arrogance at a restaurant is frankly offensive. At the end of the meal we ordered one dessert to share (we were full but wanted to have something sweet for my wife's 50th as no one from the restaurant bothered acknowledging our special occasion). We also ordered coffee and espresso. The table had not be cleared of our plates and the dessert was simply plopped in the middle with zero effort to clear our dirty dishes. No coffee or espresso served! As this was somewhat unpleasant I tracked someone to get rid of our dirty plates so we can enjoy our meal, still no coffee or espresso served! We waited a bit longer and I simply asked for the check and asked him to remove the coffees. When I presented my Am Ex card I was instructed to go inside and pay instead of our sever taking it up himself. Upon checking the bill the coffee and espresso were still on it. As I was paying the 355Euro lunch bill, I tried to explain, nicely, to the woman at the register that I was disappointed that my wife's bday was ignored. She seemed to either not understand or not care. However, there was a different waiter there and he completely got it. He was extremely apologetic and offered to make it right by bringing something out. I appreciated his gesture but told him it was too late and we were on our way out. I know our meal would have been better were he our server. All in all the location is magnificent, but our experience was the opposite of what good hospitality looks like. So if you go there, it's a nice place to chill grab a seat outside, a bottle of wine, definitely the fresh tomatoes. Just don't expect to get good hospitality. Or, perhaps you will be lucky and have the waiter I met at the cash register and have a better experience.

We also are huge fans of the Stanley Tucci CNN series. We planned our trip around his recommendations and experiences. Our expectations were high but we tried to adjust them based on recent reviews. With that being said we were very disappointed in the zucchini pasta. It’s was very bitter and earthy (dirty) tasting. It had to have been the cheese. Must have been aged too long. We did enjoy the space. Service was fine. The eggplant meatballs were the favorite of the meal. Also, we took a Luccibello water taxi from Positano to reach the restaurant. If you've been to Red Lobster back in the states you can

1/5 by 👻 @Fred M. on 09/25/2022

If you've been to Red Lobster back in the states you can skip this overrated disappointment. Having achieved fame via Stanley Tucci's CNN series "Searching for Italy" it drew us, like many Americans, to its doors hoping to experience the same orgasmic reactions that Mr. Tucci had on his visit there. We had just finished our week on the Amalfi coast and were staying in Sorrento before heading to Ischia, Naples, Milan, and Venice. We've had some life changing meals here.I'm Italian American and was born in San Francisco, so I know my fair share when it comes to seafood. And like many of you, at 62, I've had many wonderful meals around the world. The food was served either cold or lukewarm, no seasoning at all. Bland pasta, deep fried veggies, poor service, and all the charm of a busy Red Lobster on a Sunday afternoon. And all this after a 45 minute drive in either direction dodging vespas and FIATS on winding roads that made me yearn for Lombard street back home. Seriously, do yourself a favor and avoid this hash house.Addendum: we are at the Naples central train station at a trattoria called Fresco. For 40.00 euro much better food, ambiance, and service.

Yes, we had high expectations but, even so, there is much room for improvement at this renowned establishment. The antipasto platters were generous and tasty enough. The primi e secondi were well below par for any reputable restaurant, especially the much-lauded zucchini pasta. (Clearly, Stanley Tucci was given a very different version of this dish from us!). The service was of a level that could only be described as disinterested. In my view, not at all worth the trip; so many nicer options in the region.

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Lo Scoglio Nerano at 6 PM the same day.

He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Lo Scoglio Nerano page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.

That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.

Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.

2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.

3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Lo Scoglio Nerano to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.

4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Lo Scoglio Nerano!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
