My husband and I enjoyed a lovely date night at Locanda
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely date night at Locanda Positano. The food and wine were spectacular! The ambience was romantic and welcoming. Daniele took great care of us, and we enjoyed chatting with him. I highly recommend Locanda. You won't be disappointed!

I'm delighted to report that I finally got to try Locanda Positano. The interior is very small with a romantic setting. I believe there were 7 tables in total, all seating 4-6 people. Our table was taken apart to seat two sets of couples. If you have a party of two, be prepared to sit very close to another couple. If you enjoy eavesdropping, it can be well executed here lol. What we did not enjoy were the amount of kids screaming in the restaurant. It's quite loud due to the size of the dining area. We had a half bottle of Chianti - it was good. We tried the beet salad which was lovely. It was a very simple dish, but they provided a large amount - much appreciated! We tried two of their pasta dishes. I had the Short Rib Ragu in a cream sauce. The pasta is made in house which I value, but it was poorly executed. My dish was rigatoni but all the noodles were squished together, they were not tubes by any means. So it didn't retain the sauce and meat the way it would have if it was true rigatoni. My boyfriend had the Wild Boar with a red wine reduction sauce. It was very sweet but delicious nonetheless. We both agreed that it was the best thing we had that evening. I'm happy I finally got to check them out, but I don't feel the need to return based on the cost for the overall quality. I much prefer other Italian restaurants in the area, such as Scopa, Barrique, or Ospi.

Cozy and elegant ambiance. Overall, a decent Italian restaurant, but wouldn't say that it was great. Bread: wasn't warm. We had to ask for oil. Meatballs appetizer: as if we were eating frozen Swedish meatballs in tomatoes sauceBurrata Caprese: delicious burrata. Really enjoyed this part of the mealRigatoni al sugo di manzo: pasta was cooked very well. Delicious sauce. Barely any meat on it though, which was disappointing. Couldn't even appreciate a bite of meat because it was cut into small pieces and the portion of meat was small Tagliatelle Al Nero di seppia: I actually like fish, but this sauce and pasta were very fishy. Didn't finish my portion. Scallops were cooked well.Wish I enjoyed it more, but was underwhelmed

Have been looking forward to coming here with my girlfriend You walk in and it's a small intimate restaurant, pretty cool. Calamari was very good, as all calamari is virtually the same. We also got the radicchio salad with peaches which was great. I got the linguini vongole which was nothing short of average. A lot of clams but seasoning wasn't awesome My girlfriend got the chicken parm which was really just a chicken breast with too much rosemary (were east coast Italians do take us with a grain of salt). Great dessert and espresso. 3/5. Nice wait staff.
Be the first to ReplySuperb, plane and simple.
The short rib rigatoni was excellent, as was the service, and atmosphere.

Still 4 stars because almost everything on the menu is delicious, but this is a warning to NOT ORDER THE STEAK. We ordered it medium rare, and it came extremely well done. Stick to the pastas!

Wow, just wonderful, this is an old school (the food) Italian Cafe with amazing food and wine, first-rate service, and an extremely charming and romantic decor inside and out. It is a bit pricier than many other Italian restaurant, but what they offer makes the expense worth it. The flavors marry well, the wine is exciting and satisfying, the produce is fresh, everything is done to a turn. Highly recommend this wonderful place.

Every dish I tried tasted amazing, and the wine selection was good too. I had burrata, risotto, and we tried all four of the desserts. Each tasted so good. Would definitely come again.

Food was tasty but generally disappointing and insanely overpriced. Small portions. Wait staff wasn't particularly nice. The bolognese wasn't a classic Italian preparation, but more like out of a can from the grocery store.

Be the first to ReplyFantastic Italian food, beautiful flavors.
We got delivery for a change. It arrived quickly and dishes arrived piping hot. Good serving sizes with bread thrown in. The mushroom risotto was definitely a standout! We enjoyed the whole fish with tomato sauce and delicious sautéed spinach on the side. Finished up with a great tiramisu. Can't wait to dine there again soon!

Walked pass it on Lincoln so many times, finally my girlfriends invited me for a dinner last night, now its going to me my favorite. We truly enjoyed it. Their food was delicious, the atmosphere and the service was great as well. Its perfect for a romantic dinner or for a meetup with friends. They have beautiful outdoor patio with heaters and nice indoor space as well. A+++

Locanda Positano continues to be one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. It's food is authentic, and it has a very good wine list. Watch for blackboard specials. The Pappardelle with Wild Boar is one of my favorites, as is Tagliatelle alla Bolognese.

I'm picky with my Italian food. Call me boujee or whatever, but after spending a significant amount of time in Italy and Croatia (right across the Adriatic), Italian cuisine has kind of been ruined for me here stateside.Locanda Positano has restored my hope. Right when I walked in, I felt like I had teleported to a small hole in the wall restaurant in Northern Italy. The homie and I started with a Tomato soup and some well done seared scallops that were to die for.I always love going to places like this and asking the waitress for her recommendation on a main course. If he/she/they/it/them confidently recommend something, I normally go for that because I LOVE the confidence. This waitress was as confident as a 2004 Kanye West in recommending the braised wild boar pasta, and BOY was she right. My homie was basic and got the Rigatoni, but in fairness that also SLAPPED.This is my new go-to Italian spot in LA.

Service is wonderful. I enjoyed every minute of our night here. I will be coming back soon!
Be the first to ReplySuch a special experience! We went on Christmas Eve and one
Such a special experience! We went on Christmas Eve and one of the waiters was giving us attitude so we complained. The owner came and took care of us immediately . She was so warm and made us feel right at home, waiting on us throughout the evening. They have a beautiful, quiet patio...plenty of heaters which is great when it gets cold. And the food was HEAVEN. We started with the Buffalo mozzarella + black truffle salad, then had a trio of pastas. The short rib ragu was AWESOME! All the portions were surprisingly huge and generous, quite the contrary to so many expensive Italian spots in the area. Quality, cozy local spot...I will most definitely come back. THANK YOU!

We had the most amazing dinner last night at Locanda Positano. We hadn't been in awhile and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. I am going to recommend Locanda to all of my friends looking for an incredibly romantic, quiet beautiful heated patio. The service, as I stated in a previous review, was impeccable and the food was outstanding. We started with a lovely Chardonnay and Prosecco. We enjoyed the delicious calamari, the beet salad, and the burrata with truffles. For dinner we had the pappardelle with wild boar, the scallops, Linguini with Manilla clams, and the Cacio e Peppe. The Cacio e Peppe is possibly the best I've ever had. I never bring food home, but couldn't say goodbye to this wonderful dish! For dessert we had tiramisu and the fresh cream filled donuts.
Be the first to ReplyFood was above average.
Service was decent but......did nobody get the memo about Covid? Manager/host was not wearing a mask. Come on! It's about respecting your employees and your guests.
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed the ambiance and Italian feel of the restaurant.
However, we had the Dine LA menu and were pretty disappointed by the quality of food (at $65/person). It wasn't very flavorful, and looked and felt underwhelming. I recommend choosing from the main menu, and avoid the Dine LA menu. I could tell that the staff was working hard, but service was very disjointed as we had 4 different people coming up to our table and asking what our next course was. Our $200 bill did not match the quality of food that we received.
Be the first to ReplyHard to find more overpriced Italian food in Los Angeles.
If they having a 50% sale definitely go. The waiter clearly had more important things to do than take care of us. The patio is lovely
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for DineLA and was excited about the 4 course
We came here for DineLA and was excited about the 4 course meal but left disappointed. To start, it seemed like the service for customers who chose the DineLA menu was a lot slower than normal customers. It took 2+ hours for a 4 course meal and it took way too long between courses for the next course to come out... between our 2nd and 3rd course we waited 30+ minutes and when our food came out it was cold. We've also done DineLA a handful of times and usually the restaurant gives you the regular and DineLA menu but we needed to ask for the DineLA menu. To start we got the octopus and caprese, both which were good. For pasta we got the ravioli and spaghetti with shrimp. Ravioli was good but nothing to rave about per se - the cream sauce was good and the truffle was nice. The spaghetti could've had a touch more seasoning and the shrimp was lacking for a shrimp pasta. Our 3rd course was an absolute disappointment considering we waited 30+ minutes and they came out cold. The braised beef was too salty and the branzino again was nothing special. To round it off we got the doughnuts and cannoli for dessert, which were both good. If you're considering coming for DineLA, I would pass on it considering it's $65/person. I would be curious to come back for a regular meal since their pasta with mussels smelled and looked good. They have valet parking. We found free street parking on Lincoln.
