Would be a 5 only downfall was waiting for my check 30 minutes and not getting the candy bag at the end. Zero awareness in that regard. But yea good delicious, service was elite. But realizing we're done would have been better

Gosh, the worst meal of our trip! We expected it to be one of the best given the venue & 2 Michelin star rating The view is spectacular especially at sunset. But the service and food fell short. The service was atrocious. Empty glasses, crumbs, unfilled water and wine glasses were left for long stretches of time. Had to ask for the check 4 times before it being brought over. We chose to dine at a fine restaurant for the service, this was really bad and upsetting. The food was inconsistent in terms of quality: my husband and I did the tasting menu and our food was cooked differently and was not that great. We've had better meals at takeout parlors!Overall would not return nor recommend, and this really dampened our view on the Palace Hotel as a result.

This place is a must stop for any creative food lover and anyone looking for a more unique experience than the tourist fare that much of Capri has to offer. I was surprised to see poor reviews of this Michelin starred restaurant on Yelp, but wanted to check it out with my husband. We made a reservation online several weeks before our trip, but outside of peak season, you may be able to just walk in. The restaurant is in Anacapri inside of a hotel - you can take a cab, bus, or if you're very brave, maybe walk (though when we asked about walking no one recommended this saying it may be too dangerous & strenuous). We were starting with complimentary champagne and a very extensive (read: many pages) water menu (sorted by mineral level). The service was fantastic and each individual seemed to have a separate role from the individual who seated us, to the individuals who consulted on the menu, and a sommelier. A lot of attention to detail here! The wine list is even more extensive, plus a separate mixed drink list. We opted for the chef's tasting with 5 courses (there is also a 7 course option). You pick the 5 courses from a list - the full list contains 7 options. There was complimentary breads (a separate bread cart and bread expert to share about the various options and which may go best with your meal), and the starter was a cuttlefish with pea soup. Our favorite courses were the pasta (outstanding, who knew that's what pasta should taste like?!), the pork belly (normally I'm hesitant because it can tend to be a bit too fatty, this was amazingly crisp and delicious), and the dessert course (there were many, many deserts that were presented to us as compliments). The chef came out and greeted everyone in the restaurant as well. Overall, an amazing experience - if you're in the area and in search of amazing food and delicious quality service, this is a spectacular option.
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I came here to celebrate our honeymoon.
We were in love with Capri palace and how beautiful the hotel is. The rooms are spectacular with the decor and so clean! We had lunch on the terrace and that was to die for you have to try the insalate de mar. For dinner we tried l'olivio and we're greatly disappointed. The service was top notch, staff was so friendly and accommodated your every request we were so happy with the service. The food was horrific we ordered the raw seafood and were served basically seafood slime. The pasta dishes were too creamy and the seafood so salty I couldn't even taste it. I didn't want to send it back because I was so disappointed with the meal I feared what they would've sent out. They tried to make normal meals into trendy sophisticated dishes but took away from the flavor and it just wasn't a good mix of food overall. It was very pricey so definitely not worth the money.

We went here on our honeymoon, excited to try a 2 Michelin Star restaurant. We've eaten at 1 Michelin Star establishments before and have had some of the best food of our life. L'Olivo had some of the best service I've ever had in a restaurant. They constantly were checking on us, refilling our water and pulling out our seats when we went to the restroom. Either they are very well trained or the staff was just bored because at 8pm on a Friday night, there were only 2 other tables of people in the whole place and it completely lacked energy.Unfortunately, we did not love any of the food. The risotto was undercooked and bland, the lobster was inconsistent where some pieces melted like butter and others were very chewy and fishy. The linguine with scampi was very rich, but the shrimp (which I think were raw) seemed odd paired with a creamy buratta cheese. The desert tray that they brought out had some of our favorite parts of the meal on it, but even they were hit and miss. I will say that given the amount of food you get and it's Michelin status I don't think the prices are too expensive, we just wished the food was better. So far in Capri, I'd say you're better off getting some rustic food at a small, hole in the wall.Oh - also halfway through our meal a woman wearing glowing shoes and a lit up accordian started singing. She then made her way into the restaurant and despite her talent, the whole get up felt cheesy for a fine dining establishment.

Excellent fine dining experience with stellar views located in the Capri Palace Hotel. Choose between 5,7,or 9 course tasting menu...or a la carte. The five course was substantially filling with a wine pairing chosen by our sommelier. They have an extensive water menu as well. At the end our our meal we were given printed menus of our experience. What a nice touch and remembrance of hubby's birthday. Service was impressive!
