Worth the splurge for weekend dinner!
We visited to celebrate our 10th anniversary and enjoyed the inventive culinary experience. Lord Stanley truly walks you though a high-quality, delicious and delightfully curated meal. We did the weekend dinner and were there for about 3-hours as the staff walked us through each course in carefully thought-out order. My husband and I enjoyed trying new things and savoring and talking about the food. It was a great change of pace and something truly special. I felt bad asking for menu changes, but I let the wait staff know I was pregnant, and they took great care of me. They knew exactly how to adjust without me asking.
Like other reviewers have said, the vegetables are absolutely to die for! Also, my husband and I are major dessert lovers, and the dessert and coffee were amazing treats to top off an excellent night out.
Lovely Restaurant
Passing by San Francisco, we picked this restaurant to have dinner and it did not disappoint. Top notch fresh ingredients with innovative techniques and delicate tastes that does not manipulate the ingredients too much. Highly recommend this Michelin one star gem.

All in all food was great, a delightful mix of flavours and textures each dish unique in nature yet complementary in nature. Staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful describing each of the ingredients and accommodating when requesting a booking amendment.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and we were not disappointed. Four courses $65 fantastic. Started with the Red Shishito Peepers with Goats Cheese followed by the chilled scollops with picked cucumber. We were split on the mains one having the wild salon and one the roasted hen both exceptional dishes. To end Lemon tart with Chantilly. Good selection of wines modestly priced and topped off with goos service.
The dishes were very imaginative, this in my view is the best value pick in San Francisco if you are passing through.
Not worth a star
Does not provide the level of quality expected from a michelin star restaurant. Value for money is deceptively low. Can not be recommended.

Had the 45 dollar 3 course menu. All dishes were well prepared and tasted great. Especially the lamb shoulder was excellent.
I asked if it was possible to do a Wine parring for the menu and the staff served three excellent glasses of Wine.
Great Restaurant
There are so many great restaurants in San Francisco, but this one remains one of my favorites. Excellent imaginative cuisine without gimmicks. And the staff are wonderful to boot.
Great service and very good food
We enjoyed our meal at Lord Stanley. We were seated promptly and had excellent service. The menu has only a few entrees (4) but lots of choices for "snacks" and starters. For snacks, we really enjoyed the duck liver puffs. The smoked trout beignets were tasty but, in our opinion, too light on the fish and too much of the breading/dough (and a bit oily). The steak tartare was very flavorful and the presentation was great, too. The smoked sunchoke was good but some of the knobs were a bit woody. By the way, the sourdough bread and the cultured butter were very good but no one asked if we wanted more after we ate our 1 slice per person. As for entrees, the duck was delicious and although the suckling pig was tasty there was more fat than I'd expected, especially in the shoulder portion. We shared the sourdough ice cream dessert which was a winner! It sounds like an odd flavor in combination with the apples, but it was wonderful. One serving was enough for the two of us. All in all, we liked our dinner, but because we felt the food quality was a bit uneven, we can't give it 5 stars.
