Had a lovely dinner here this evening - tuna carpaccio and a delicious pasta. Always enjoy dining here whenever I am in London. Food is consistently fantastic. Lucio himself with warm welcome although I only come I infrequently is extra special. Only complaint is it takes long time to get a glass of wine. But very special restaurant in my favorite neighborhood in London.

Out of all the world's flavors I've tried in my lifetime, Italian was never on my list of favorites. Spaghetti, ravioli, pizza... it's always just been one dirty, dirty carb-fest with little flavor to show for it. It doesn't help that most of my friends in London are Italian, so the only homemade food I've tried out here is also... Italian. You get where I'm going with this; I wasn't a fan. However, when one such Italian friend decided to host her birthday party here, I had little choice. While the menu was limited, as the food was free for the party guests, the offerings were superb. My favorite dish is the Tagliata di Manzo- a delicious melt-in-your-mouth steak, sliced into perfect portions, and garnished with thickly-sliced cheese, a pinch of rocket, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. I was also pleasantly surprised by the pasta. The Tagliatelle con fave frescoes, rucola e scaglie di pecorino is a creamy al dente spaghetti with fava beans, leafy greens, and pecorino cheese mixed in for good measure. The portions are big enough that they'll leave you feeling full for hours. Even the starters are amazing, and that free focaccia that comes to your table before the meal is to die for. The wine and champagne list is almost too big and you have a lot of great options to choose from; but my personal favorite is the Franciacorta, which is stronger than prosecco, but weaker than champagne. A bottle for the table is enough to keep two people feeling quite jolly for a while, without the hangover the next morning. Staff-wise, I love the people here. Lucio, himself, is often seen greeting people on the floor and making sure everyone is taken care of. As such, don't be too surprised if you see a few celebrities enjoying a meal here, as there are a few regulars that are known to make an appearance. Buon appetito!

I had the seared tuna which was perfect with amazing flavors. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal: steak, veal, fish soup.

Lucio is very close to my home and looks like a great restaurant so we decided to check it out. Service and decor are both great and it was a very pleasant meal. I was hoping for a bit more from the food though it left me a bit flat. It was good just not great. I think it warrants a second try but at the price point if it disappoints again I will not be going back.

The fact that they speak Italian does not necessarily give the right Italian experience. I agree with previous comments that this is probably an overrated Italian restaurant in London.

Outstanding If you are looking for an understated but absolutely terrific Italian meal - look no further. My artichoke salad was amazing , grilled chicken main (sounds boring right ?) was spectacular - interesting rolled presentation with lovely roast potatoes and spinach. Simple , no fuss - buy absolutely top quality
Be the first to ReplyBest bolognese you will have this part of the world.
Also could arguably be top 3 Italian places in London. I highly recommend the Bolognese (obviously) the Vongole, Pomodoro are all amazing. Best appetizer was the tuna carpaccio

It's perfect for exactly what it's is - a local Italian restaurant that is a perfect combo of the feel good of a homemade food and just enough action going on there. It couldn't be more relaxing experience and the stuff is extremely accommodating - happy to adjust your dishes just the way u like them !!! Very pet friendly too and belinis r one of the best in town. Great for locals too - they change the menu monthly so u will never get bored of having the same thing and if they take your favourite dish off but they like u - the chances are they will be happy to make it especially for u!

This is probarbly the most overrated italian resttaurant in London. Setting is very nice, staff is friendly but all this doesn't help that pretty every chain italian offers better food.

I dined here on a Saturday afternoon with my flatmate, her parents and her aunt and uncle... meaning, I did not pick up the bill! All of our lunches were divine. The goat cheese salad as an appetizer was delicious. For my main course I had the pumpkin, almond and marscapone risotto which was excellent. Such a great combo! Others had the haddock, or the skate, and one had the chestnut pasta with pheasant ragout. All the dishes were raved about! For dessert I went for the tiramisu which is a top 3 favorite dessert of mine so I usually have it at any Italian restaurant. It was great! It came in this crunchy almost like a thin fried dough cup which added some variety and a different flavor/texture to the typical tiramisuThe waitstaff worked as a team which was nice. The owner was present and involved with the workings of the meal, as opposed to just keeping a watchful eye. It was a bit pricey but for the quality it's definitely worth a try. Or, just go with your flatmates family and you won't have to pay ;)

I would never have gone to Lucio's if it wasn't for a client setting up a meeting there a couple of weeks ago. There are two reasons for this: I don't frequent West London and I'm not a fan of swanky-looking restaurants. Too mush pristine white tablecloth makes me uncomfortable and I'd much rather throw my jacket over the back of my chair than have someone specially employed for the purpose take it away for me. There's a chance that my days of innate scruffiness are coming to an end, though, after a thoroughly delightful experience at Lucio's. There were staff to greet me and take my coat, sure, but they were pretty subtle about the whole affair, and delicious freshly baked foccaccia slices delivered to the table soon after I was seated took the edge off anyway. Our waiter was very helpful when I did my usual vegan ask-about-the-ingredients-in-everything bit and once the wine had arrived there was really nothing to complain about. I was even enjoying the amusing snippets of conversation that floated towards me from surrounding tables - very posh ladies discussing their lack of knowledge about stocks and shares! The meal was gorgeous - a beetroot and spelt salad was fresh and tangy and penne with tomato sauce was simple but classic, made scrumptious by great quality pasta and delicious olive oil. I love when you can taste the attention to detail in the very first bite. No pudding was required after a very satisfying meal but I'm sure they had some lovely options. Lucio's comes very highly recommended from me - their set menu prices are very reasonable and if I was ever in the area again I'd definitely consider dragging some friends along with me. I'm even getting pretty good at not accidentally hitting people in the chest when they put my coat on for me at the end of a meal - is this what being grown up is like?
Be the first to ReplyGood friendly, family run Italian, higher end priced menu.
The food is very tasty and old fashioned generous portions, some tasty wines too.I've generally been as part of larger groups which they handle well, I'm sure if you were a regular diner they'd get to know you and look after you really well. Popular with a few celebs.
