This place is worth splurging on at least once.
The venue is beautiful, drinks are great, service is very good, and the strawberry soft serve is fantastic. The menu caters to a diverse dietary needs or preferences. Their appetizers were very good. Although the pork took quite a bit to be served, it was worth the wait. I would restrain from ordering the swordfish again as it was very well done, which is not my preference. Overall, great place for a special occasion.

OOOOOMG! I LUV'D LUTIE'S & next time am back in the ATX I will be in Lutie's atleast once Happy Hour is when they open @ 5pm last till 6pm, we opted to sit inside which is so inviting with plants covering the ceiling, rich dark green fern printed banquettes, GORGEOUS Murano glass lighting enhance this magical land much like OZ. Grabbing the 4 corner seats at the bar, featuring a full view of the entire location we were greeted by the "Man of the Hour" our bartender, Calvert ~ the Wizard of OZ, mastering all the many handcrafted cocktails while holding meaningful conversation usually involving some sort of additive into whatever liquid deliciousness he is concocting. The hors de oeuvres on the limited bar menu were all sooo good, and I should know as we tried ALL OF THEM as the pictures can prove. All the selections were size appropriate for the 4 of us, except the prawns which only have 2 per order so we ordered 2 portions and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT, beautifully presented straight from the fryer large, meaty prawns cooked & stuffed to perfection. Still thinkin about them is making my mouth water Alas after dinner comes what? That's right DESSERT ordered 2 (one recommended by Calvert as the favorite of the staff) both were FANTASTIC and after the all our appetizers left us all quite satisfied without being stuffed. Located on the grounds of Commodore Perry Estate, Lutie's should be on EVERYBODY'S GPS. All parking is FREE valet, (please remember to TIP) After dinner we walked around the mansion lovely way to get a bit of exercise and see some GR8 architecture

If you're looking for a nice dinner with good food and incredible ambiance, this is your place. However, I'll emphasize the fact that for the price the food was good and not great. Anything you get here is going to taste good, but I have to admit that most of the dishes we tried didn't feel worth the bill. Service was wonderful and very attentive and helped us pick out plates that went together for a cohesive meal. Out of the 5 plates, dessert, and three drinks we tried, the Paradisi cocktail, the estate bread, and the Kouign Amani Ice Cream were the standouts and I would come back to sit at the bar and have those again. But, I don't think bread, a cocktail, and ice cream are the things that should be sticking out in my mind when reviewing a restaurant. The other plates we tried were the Fritto Misto, the bluefin tuna, the petit aioli, and the mussels. Again I will emphasize everything we tried was good and I enjoyed eating all of it, but at the price point I expected to have a more exciting descriptor than just "good". I'll caveat all of this by saying the menu is seasonal so maybe I'd feel differently if I had come at a different time of year. All and all I'd come back to the bar for drinks and dessert and will probably give dinner another try when the menu switches over.

Yummy food! Recommended sharing family style so we got to try more options. Portion sizes were large & food was fresh and tasty. Drinks were fun and unique. Very good standard brunch options with a fun twist to change it up! Also a very cute atmosphere, perfect for girls brunch or a date!
Be the first to ReplyDIVINE brunch offerings in a thoughtful setting.
We celebrated an engagement brunch here and they made our experience so special! Menu is seasonal but we enjoyed (several) mimosas, which are not seasonal ;) and our omelettes and waffles were to die for. Gulf shrimp with trout roe and hollandaise (pictured first) and banana waffle stack (second). 10/10 recommend! Will be returning for dinner, hopefully very soon.

Beautiful ambiance with service and food to match! We went for Saturday Brunch and was extremely impressed. The food was amazing!

The ambiance is an experience as soon as you come inside the property. Beautiful design. Exterior and interior are breathtaking. Food is delicious and fresh. Plates are tapas style small portions where you need to get minimum 2 per person. We were 4 and got 9 plates and were very satisfied.

Stunning! This place is like you are stepping into the secret garden but it's in Austin! Lutie's was highly recommended not only by many of your fellow yelpers but also my foodie gym instructor. She know's exactly what I like so I had to go. Getting a reservation is a bit tricky but I finally managed to snag one for my husband and I on a Sunday about 7:00 pm which turned out to be a excellent time cause it was the start of daylights savings. My husband and I pulled up to two building but was unsure where to park. There were two valet guys, so we asked them and they were nice to guide us to where the front door and said they would take our car from there. Valet was free but of course always make sure to tip these wonderful gentlemen. We made our way through a path and saw a beautiful courtyard and as the sun was setting, we thought it was a great picture opportunity. I can only image what the courtyard will look like when spring is in full bloom. My husband and I made our way to the host stand inside to the right of the entry and checked in. We were immediately seated at our table and greeted by our host Richard. We mentioned it was our first time and Richard briefly described Lutie's background, farm to table food style and that entree's are served family style which is how my husband like to eat, so it was perfect. They have a wonderful selection of sparkling, white, rosé and red wine. They also offer a selection of signature cocktails, zero proof cocktails, draft beer and bottled beer. I went with the Night Shift signature cocktail which included Vodka, dry riesling, blackberry shrub and elderflower. I highly recommended cause not only did it have a beautiful presentation, it was light and delicious down to the blackberries that were treated in a way that I have never tasted. Even the ice cube was cool! My husband ordered the Duckphat ($21) with Ducat washed cognac, honey lemon oleo, PX sherry and black pepper. I had a sip and it was absolutely delicious. Since it was our first visit we decided to order À la carte. We ordered and highly recommend all! The Bluefin Tuna which came with Golden Osetra Caviar, Citrus Kosho ($52). It literally melts in your mouth. Next we ordered the Green Dish which is a bit generic on the menu and for good reason. It changes depending on the season and what is available. Our green dish meal ($18) consisted of arugula, smoked colored carrots (my fav) and a type of feta like cheese. The smoke flavor on the carrots was not over powering and just perfectly done. The Estate Bread is something you can't miss, the bread is similar to an English muffin but better and the butter is something I've never experienced before. Needless to say, you need to order it and is perfect with the Trout. So the Delta Blues Rice ($44), with Mt. Lassen Trout, smoked Trout Roe was our most favorite. My husband who is from Hawaii said it was a meal that reminded him of home and made his heart happy. It was so delicious and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Yonderway Pork Loin with Guajillo Figs ($42) and was very happy with my order but I think where Lutie's shines the most is with their fish dishes. You need to leave room for the dessert cause I don't think you can go wrong. We ordered the Kouign Amann Ice Cream with caramel ($10) and the Creme Caramel ($10) with burnt honey and beeswax and together was pure heaven. I also ordered a port to wash my dessert down with while my husband ordered an espresso. We ate like a queen and king and can't wait to go back. What an experience and in such a beautiful garden setting. There is no match. We can't wait to return for the full chef tasting menu. Thank you to the Chef and to the service we received. Keep up the great work and we'll see you again soon!

When Michelin comes to town (and they MUST, if they intend to maintain integrity), they should come here and sample around. Walking in is like a trip to Wonderland (Alice's) with magical vignettes at every angle. I've heard Happy Hour is a scene, but I love the moody ambiance of a lush dinner among the velvet and vines. Dining alone is not my preference with a menu made for sharing, but portions are smaller and easily enjoyed solo as well as family-style. I returned for 2 things - first, the Estate Bread: a perfect little disc of bouncy just sour-enough dough, golden-crisp and hot from the oven, served alongside a variegated slat of brown & house-cultured butter that melts, not too slow or too fast, into each ecstatic bite. It is bread nirvana. Pro-Tip: You may ask for a half-order (as in one) when sitting alone. Although why would you want to do that?!In between, I happened upon the unexpected. Confit pork, butchered in-house (a theme, maybe!) bowled up with tender-but-firm Napa cabbage (think kraut, but elevated), and never the same butter beans. Perhaps the whole thing is stewed in brown & house-cultured butter, but there's a trick - Banyuls vinegar reduction that adds the most thrilling twist of depth had me almost drinking the thing (arteries no more!) forgetting I don't even care for beans because they were rendered full of all this pork & wine-y GOODNESS!I sigh. Here I only came for carbs - the Kouign Amann ice cream is SO MUCH more than. She's your favorite pastry (crusty, crumbly-caramelized-sweet) blended into melty ice cream, magic happening in your mouth. I didn't even mention the sweet service or their wine program - both attentive and lovely. Austin is one of the few places in the country you can come for great hospitality. Don't tell!

..Had a nice evening at Luties but the food while all good was not as memorable as our previous visit. Service was on point. Server, Emma, was a standout. She had a fun and personable flair with her food presentations that made our night special.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful spot for girls chat or a nice date.
Each plate is creative and locally sourced based on farm to table concept. We are very pleased with the attentive waitress explained the dishes. And every single dish has its own unique flavor. The green dish is a arugula salad with grilled squash and lemongrass dressing which is very refreshing. Delta rice trout and trout roe is great concept and very similar to Japanese chirashi sushi but with pan seared trout. Very juicy and the trout roe burst with rice. It's very satisfying to DIY the dish and eat it. Ham and butter beans and radish is my favorite dish but it's on the salty side. I wish it can be less salty. It's a bit pricey because of the high quality ingredients and beautiful interior design. I would go back to try seasonal new items and cocktails.

Be the first to ReplyThe Commodore Estate is absolutely exquisite and Lutie's is
The Commodore Estate is absolutely exquisite and Lutie's is definitely one of the more beautiful restaurants in ATX. The pictures online capture the beauty of the inside, but the outside patio with the view of the manicured English garden is divine. Reservations are very hard to get and after finally dining here, I saw first hand why. The restaurant is small and cozy with very limited seating and as a result, parties over 4 are very limited and subject to a prix fixe menu. I suggest getting online and booking ASAP for a prime day and time slot. For our party of 4, we started with a few delicious craft cocktails called The Night Shift. Our waiter Richard was lovely, helped us decide on our main courses and perfectly paired and coursed our meal. Our first pairing consisted of the bluefin tuna and chickpea and green corn. Both were delicious. Followed by the beets, estate bread and halibut. The beets were good, but the estate bread and halibut were both life changing! We were encouraged to dip some of our bread in the butter sauce that surrounded the halibut and the table became silent. The grilled camembert was a perfect segue to dessert and it too was delicious. For dessert we chose the kouign amann ice cream and that night they introduced a new dessert, a lemon chiffon that was divine! The service, the atmosphere and the food were all exceptional!

Wow Lutie's is a beautiful restaurant with extremely attentive and friendly staff. They were so kind to me as a vegan. There are quite a few options that can be customized and made vegan. They kindly brought me sourdough bread with olive oil. I highly recommend the Fritto Misto made vegan-it was delicious and so unique. The So Fresh and So Green mock tail was very refreshing too. The petite aeoli made vegan was just cooked veggies without seasoning and the same sauce (but pretty good) as the fritto misto. The price tag was quite $$$ which was expected, but probably not the best value as a vegan. I do recommend though and I'd be happy to go back for a dance night out!
Be the first to ReplyLocated at the Commodore Perry this restaurant has a garden
Located at the Commodore Perry this restaurant has a garden vibe with plenty of plants inside the restaurant and with outside seating overlooking green space on the hotel grounds. We tend to valet park here since parking isn't conveniently located by the restaurant. (The door is down a path from the drive so a little hard to find your first time). Service is professional and courteous with helpful suggestions. The menu does change but certain core dishes are likely to be on the menu. Some that we loved* Estate bread with the brown and cultured butter. Fantastic. Had it and had it for dessert. * Delta Blues Rice, Mount Lassen Trout. Smoked Trout Roe. (But we've had this with salmon before too). The heritage rice absolutely makes this dish. * Fritta - usually two stuffed shrimp battered and fried. Slightly oily but really yummy. * aioli - this one usually is a mix of local veggies in mixed preparation with an aioli Other mains and small plates tend to be seasonal etc. but we've been happy with the pork and duck and braised dishes we've had too. Word of warning to those a little squeamish - pork and duck dishes are cooked to medium/medium rareish temp.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is exquisite -- absolutely.
Located directly across the street from a Goodyear Tire and Jo's Coffee (with its garish red sphere on the roof,) you would never guess that this gem of an oasis is nestled right off of Red River in Hyde Park. Hanging from the ceiling of the dining room are Chihuly-style chandeliers and an entire canopy of hanging plants. The restaurant is part of a 10-acre private garden in the heart of the city. We had a salad of greens with a cilantro-jalapeño vinaigrette and a massive house-made English muffin that was served piping hot with a layered slab of brown butters. The Chickpea and Green Corn Salad was loaded with fresh herbs, sesame seeds, and a delicious dressing to bind it all together. The green corn added incredible textural dynamics with its corn-nut crunch. The Grilled and Marinated Beets beets were like nothing I had ever quite experienced. Brussels sprouts and beets are a dining stable for me. I order one or both of them from almost every menu that I encounter. But I've never once come across a beet with a confit treatment; I thought that confit was reserved exclusively for duck! The result is a texture like no other. It's almost reminiscent of a dehydrated fruit leather. Smothered in a black garlic reduction and fresh dill, Executive Chef Bradley Nicholson has outdone himself here. Raving on and on about texture here might seem unusual but the mouthfeel of both the Chickpea Salad and the Beets was so utterly refreshing, diverse, and satisfying. We concluded the evening with a Chai SoftServe Affogato which was a delightful final act before taking an evening stroll through the garden.

Euphoric- the one word I would use to describe My experience at Lutie's! My husband kept saying "It feels like we are in a movie". Not one dish disappointed! My husband is not a veggie lover but he couldn't get enough tog the Petite Aoili Plate! The barbecue shrimp was so juicy , buttery and tangy! The estate bread - well If there was ever a piece of bread that I would remember it's this English muffin. Along with the butter that was served, I straight up went to bread and butter heaven! The Texas beef - well i didn't want this to end but I'm glad it did because i would t have had room for the amazing desert! The sweet potatoes were the best I've ever had! Certainly an amazing complementary side dish to the beef! I had 2 specialty cocktails Desert Rose and Field of Dreams! TBH i had to have seconds of the Desert rose... It was delightful ! You could smell and taste the aromas of sage and orange at the same time! My husband was happy with the whiskey/bourbon selection they had! (Bourbon snob)The staff was amazing! Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to help us build out our five course dinner. We had reservations through open table, and we're grateful that we can walk right in to sit down.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely love the vibe, decor, and service here.
I've always had such a great experience. As a vegetarian it's hard to find places that have really good options. This place has multiple and they actually taste good! Prices are high, but you're getting what you pay for. Would be the perfect special occasion date spot!

Picturesque setting, vibrant decor, attentive staff, delicious fresh and varied food options, great cocktails, and unique experience make Lutie's easily one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. There is nothing like it in the city.Went for dinner on a Saturday night hoping to walk in. Got in quickly and was seated on the patio, where we overlooked the brilliantly landscaped gardens of the commodore Perry estate and were lucky enough to watch a traditionally beautiful wedding reception take place. Amazing spot for bringing parents.
