Macéo Paris Reviews from The Last Year
Disappointing
Overall very disappointing meal The setting is still beautiful but the service is, let's say, a beginner to be kind. Don't wait for someone to explain the dish to you or to ask you if it was what it was. Ultimately it may be a strategy because the quality of the cuisine has declined significantly since our last visit. Not bad but not terrible either. The room was half empty this Saturday evening. This might explain that…
Almost very good
How can I put it?… several positive sides, already a smiling and professional welcome, then the setting, a large room cut in two, a first more traditional and another with superb bistro tables and fairly comfortable armchairs. A splendid wine list with unconventional Portuguese wines and the possibility of leaving with your own bottle, something exceptional… the menu includes some vegetarian dishes, but the dishes are succulent. The starters and desserts a little below par on the other hand. To finish, a very American touch which is a little annoying, is the possibility of giving a tip, while the dishes already include the 15% tip… you must not overdo it!! This practice spoils the general impression a little.
Top quality vegetarian dining and superb atmosphere
Delicious food - a la carte with very reasonable prices. A gorgeous building that looked ‘old school’ but the very cheerful staff delivered new school slick but laid back service. Lots of good natured chatter and nice atmosphere and beautifully prepared and tasting dishes. Highly recommend the wild mushroom starter and Armagnac soufflé for desert. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and location
Excellent time in a welcoming setting
Warm welcome, attentive and discreet service, delicious meals and a beautiful wine list. We highly recommend
Great Dinner
We enjoyed the pre-fix menu. Service was excellent. Very nice ambiance. Was walking distance from hotel Would recommend.
Beautiful place, superb wines, cuisine to review
Very nice location, a stone's throw from the Jardins du Palais-Royal and the BnF. Large room with simple decoration, with tables well spaced so that everyone can enjoy the meal in complete privacy The service is professional, discreet and smiling. The cuisine that evening was quite disappointing (ordinary octopus, uninteresting cabbage and leek ravioli, too fatty veal breast) and served in too small portions. The wine list is superb, and the one we chose to accompany our meal perfect Finally, the bill seemed too heavy for the quality and quantity of our meal.
good but not great
we'd been many years ago (10+) and had fond memories. This visit was good but didn't hit the peaks of that visit. The menu is good value for Paris at the moment - 42 EUR for 3 plates especially given the 1er arrondissement location though we passed a lot of good looking places en route. Starters underwhelming - beetroot dish and a chicken terrine both slightly bland. The mains - volaille (chicken) substituted for veal 'as they had supplier problems' were good. We didn't try the courgette alternative. Desserts the pear and creme fraiche was excellent, the creme brulee anonymous. The restaurant was very empty when we arrived but filled gradually. We wish the restaurant well but came away a little underwhelmed - no real stand out dishes.
Excellent food and service.
Excellent restaurant. Lovely room to sit in, with high ceilings and plenty of space. Good service and tasty food. Definitely want to return.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
