Maison François London Reviews
Sweating every table
Booked online. No indication, up front, that for an allegedly "fine dining" and undoubtedly expensive experience you are only guaranteed 90 minutes at the table. Quite obviously this is a restaurant that sweats it's tables - aiming to
WORST MEAL EVER
The escargot was tasteless, served like a mini pizza minus cheese. The pork chop was 75% fat and barely warm. Mashed potatoes were OK as was the plum dessert.
Afternoon Tea
We had afternoon tea here and it was the best we have ever had. The food was absolutely fantastic. The staff were very attentive and friendly.
Will be recommending to everyone!
First time visiting this restaurant and I’ll definitely be returning!!!! Service was outstanding from the get go and the quality of the food was superb. The restaurant has a fabulous selection of cocktails and wines and I highly recommend going to
Expensive and small portions.
Two very small lukewarm coffees a macaron and small tarte au citron cost almost £35. Can not see the value. Service ok but nothing out of the ordinary.
Beautiful
I loved this place! Beautiful dinner venue- a really lovely vibe. Post 7pm it got very busy. Service was really good. Waiters were very attentive and food was served quickly. We got the roast chicken, tomato salad, green salad and fries and everythin
Nice food shame about the ambience.
Lovely service. Decent food. But the design of the restaurant is a bit airport lounge like - which is a shame. It would be lovely if the windows were double doors and could fold back to allow the morning sun to enter. And if there were lovely brasser
Fantastic lunch
The ambience, food quality and service were stellar for lunch. We had several appetizers and a beautiful bottle of wine. We both ordered chicken as our main and it was delicious.
Happening place in the heart of London!
This is an unusual place. Fantastic decoration, chic atmosphere, full of people, excellent food and superb service. On top of this, very affordable. This restaurant is highly recommended.
Lovely food, terrible service!
The food was delicious but service appalling. We arrived at 2120 for a 2130 reservation and were told to wait downstairs in the bar which was deserted. After half an hour we asked if our table was ready to be told that it was - when we were taken ups
Maison Francois Bastille Day Menu
Visited Maison Francois for their Bastille Day celebrations. The restaurant is well situated in Mayfair and has a large high ceilinged main dining room. The restaurant offers French Cuisine. We took advantage of the special Steak/Moule Frites menu as
Wow! Wow! Wow!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Everything was “Top Shelf” . Meal was excellent, wine was excellent, service was excellent. Sommelier Sam was engaging and had great suggestions. Overall an outstanding meal and thoroughly recommend.

We went for a family lunch. Really lovely calm spacious restaurant . Staff are so attentive and the seating is very comfortable. The food was delicious and the service was superb. The toilets are really clean which is very important. We will definite
What a great lunch should be
First class attention from everyone we interacted with. Friendly, capable service from a team working very hard to make it seem effortless. Outstanding celeriac salad and ratatouille. Superb halibut in an excellent sauce with dill-infused olive oil.
good enough
we ate bavette steak and mussels - the bavette was as good as bavette gets, should you like bavette , the sauce was a generic gravy with some peppercorns sprinkled on top. the mussels were nice but the sauce was creamy/almost cheesy, and sweet, not
We should have gone to the Wolseley
It’s a pleasant room with a good menu, however the level of ineptitude and arrogance we encountered from one senior team member was frankly upsetting. A very tall suited chap with what I took to be a French accent and an air of complete indifferenc
Sunday dinner, bring your own wine
This beautiful restaurant has consistently excellent food. Sunday nights one can bring ones own wine. A fantastic bargain
A pre theatre dinner gem
We went on a Monday night and there were a far few diners. The pre theatre menu is excellent, the food flavours were fantastic.
Good food but rude staff
Visited as two couples on a Friday evening, the food and atmosphere was great however we will not be returning due to the terrible service. Having ordered three courses each and hot drinks we were given the bill without asking for it and then were to
It might be a while before we come back
We’ve been to Maison Francois a number of times and have always enjoyed it. The food is tasty, the decor beautiful and the service good. But it might now be a while before we go back. We ate there on Saturday night and while the food was again go
Amazing good and atmosphere
Joined this superb place almost for error, as my booking was with their downstairs oyster & champagne bar “Frank’s”. Staff made us feel welcome and offered us a seat in the restaurant straight away. Food is sublime and I got particularly im
Fantastic french food
Second visit to Maison Francois and, if possible, even better. To start with we ordered the oeuf en gelée, pâté de campagne, charcuterie selection, comté gougeres, and anchovies and stracciatella on toast. All were excellent except the gougeres w
Unique, one of a kind experience!
My friends and I wanted to check out Maison Francois since the day it had opened. The initial visit was to check out the interior as we all work in the design field and this place has been one that has inspired a lot of creatives. The interior did
First visit - with a twist....
This was our first visit to Maison Francois. We opted for the pre-theatre menu to get a flavour of the restaurant and because it dovetailed nicely with our visit to a nearby theatre - it's close to many West End theatres. The food was excellent, the
Expensive & Disappointing
We visited this French styled restaurant recently during the evening. Six of us were dining. The food here is good but expensive. For six adults all having both a starter and main course each and then sharing a few puddings - plus a couple of bottles
Very good pre-theatre set menu
We enjoyed a lovely two course set menu before going to the theatre. The food was very tasty and good value given the location. There are plenty of taxis nearby. Service was helpful and efficient and the room is attractive and in a good location.
Chaotic service, meh food, bad wine service
The best things I can say about this place is that the gougères are very good, the celeriac remoulade is very good, and we were seated without a reservation at 3p on New Year's Day. After that it is all down hill. Our mains arrived barely warm. My
Lovely restaurant
Lovely restaurant. I had an early dinner with my mother and we both enjoyed our food. We had the roast chicken and fries from the set menu with a lovely flatbread to start and crème caramel for dessert. The staff are attentive and helpful. The res
For those special occasions.
As brasseries go, Madison Francois is right up there with the greats, and as London opens up again post-Covid, the district of St. James’s has a lot to be proud of in this classy eatery. Staff are attentive, helpful and intimately informed about t
Overpriced & average
Nice atmosphere but very average and definitely overpriced for what is served. Service not great and soulless, no deserts left. Better restaurants in the area for this money and we will not return.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Maison François London at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Maison François London page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* PerceptiveWash44, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* PerceptiveWash44 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to PerceptiveWash44 for any questions Peter may have as PerceptiveWash44 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* PerceptiveWash44 now uses their connections at Maison François London to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If PerceptiveWash44 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, PerceptiveWash44 receives the $200 reward which is credited to PerceptiveWash44's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Maison François London!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
