I went to Majorelle for my birthday and am quite pleased
I went to Majorelle for my birthday and am quite pleased that I did. I have been to a lot of restaurants in my life but this was the best smelling one of them all. There are fresh flowers everywhere and the scent is intoxicating in the best way possible. Seating was spacious and I did not feel like I was eating in a sardine can. The atmosphere really is quite relaxing. Everyone was polite, friendly, and not nosy. They made me feel like a queen. The food was quite good. I had the foie gras with pear appetizer which was probably the best I ever had. Seared foie gras is one of my favorite foods if not my favorite and Majorelle made my mind blow. I ordered the lamb entree with the black truffle supplement and was quite flavorful. The lamb came with the most beautiful scalloped potatoes that were ridiculously delicious. I never had a soufflé before so I ordered the chestnut one. I definitely ordered something magical! I don't really have anything negative to say. I would only suggest to prospective diners not to order the mezcal cocktail that has orange juice in it before drinking champagne though it is delicious.

Excellent place, located in the upper east side on a very cute block underground next to a hotel , made a reservation for dinner and they were gracious enough to wait for us since we were about 30 minutes late , the place is very elegant and classic , and once she dress well , the service is outstanding and so is the food ,it is expensive and they had a set menu which is not my favorite and not good for customers , was for about $150 per person and after you add the drinks, the bill comes closer to $500 for 2, It was worth it and I will be coming back. The host comes and takes your order and he was very French and very professional. He also recommended we pre-order the soufflé which we did , and it was excellent.

Classy French restaurant that takes you exactly to where your francophiles' heart dreams of sitting in the heart if the UES. The service was poetic and consistent. The food was solid and fresh. Menu Tuna Tartar Cheese risotto destructed "apple pie" ala mode dessert

We came here for a birthday dinner and staff made the experience very pleasant and memorable. The food is absolutely delicious. The portions are great. We sat in the room in the back with the fireplace and small water fountain. Everything about the place was on point. It's one of my favortie places to dine in NYC. I can't wait to go back.

From entrance to exit we were impressed! It was our anniversary and we were in town for a few days. We decided to dine early on a Tuesday. Staff was extremely attentive and made our celebration even more special. The restaurant had beautiful fresh flowers throughout. Now for the food OMG!!! Everything was DEVINE! Amuse-Bouche was insanely flavorful. We had the Grilled Octopus & Burrata for starters. Octopus was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Burrata was creamy. Our entrees we had the Duck Breast with Porcini Mushrooms & Filet and finished with dessert the Soufflé with Grand Marnier Crème Anglaise. My husband is a Chef so when we dine out it has to be top notch for him to be impressed and we were both extremely happy with our dining experience. We recommend them 1000% and will definitely return next time we're in NY.

Unobtrusive but forever present. Highly recommend this spot. We both just had a nice lunch. Had iced tea and I had their burger and my friend had the risotto followed by each of us getting lattes and a delicious chocolate mousse. Everything was superb!

Every year I take my wife out to celebrate her birthday at different fine dining restaurant. This year Majorelle has caught my attention. Everything turned out perfect. The decor was simple yet elegant with great ambiance. We smelled the flowers during our entire dining experience. Despite the there were only 3 courses. We were able to enjoy the food quality with a good food portion. The wait staff service was spot on. Very attentive to the details and our needs. We had a wonderful time. I would consider choosing this restaurant to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary.
Be the first to ReplyOne of THE BEST restaurants I've ever been to.
The vibe was sexy, the ambiance and decor beautiful. The food was great but I'm more About the ambiance at restaurants anyway. I also brought my kids so as long as they are well behaved, kids can have a great experience to to learn high end eating!! Jacques the maitre de was so accommodating. I got the dirty martini and for dinner steak and a beautiful soup. Can't wait to go back. Thank you Jacques and team!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I dined at Marjorelle Friday night.
Very beautiful room and perfunctory service. My sweetbreads were overcooked and gummy. My Salmon entree was overcooked and dry. My wife's chicory salad was underdressed. She pronounced her Cod as good. Bottle of Morgon Beaujolais was good. $600 price tag for below average food. We'll not return to dine. We'll stick with the bar and dine elsewhere.

We had the escargot, scallops, fillet mignon, and the chocolate soufflé. They were all excellent.

Private, intimate, selective and upscale - is what this place is. Absolutely stunning from the monitor you walk in to the minute you order the appetizers ! The service is nothing less than superb w class and sophistication- (tall black gentleman is the owner of general manager) is beyond fabulous and amazingly knowledgeable of his wines, menu and the current events of what's happening in the area! He made our night exceptionally delightful. Came back because of him and the food was unbelievably tasteful full of flavor and an after taste of satisfaction! Feel as if I'm a regular - and truly appreciate a place as such w an GM that's hospitable , handsome and takes pride of where he works! Merci beaucoup
Be the first to ReplyLovely ambiance, very attentive service.
However, food was not good, especially the main course. Lamb tagine was very dry and plain. Honestly, the one that I had at Cafe Mogador in East Village was much tastier and for a significantly cheaper price. I don't mind paying higher price but not for the meal that is so disappointing.

Great French Restaurant! They serve some traditional French dishes with different presentations which was okay. Service was very professional, helpful and friendly. Definitely we will go back there!
Be the first to ReplyAlways superlative.
Unlike some of the other marquis Michelin spots here there is a sense of list calm regal prestige and quiet elegance. A retreat and slip back in time. Sevice food and setting all
Be the first to ReplyVery high ends French restaurant with an excellent service.
Alot of the workers there who you would interact with are French (yes, even with the accent).Although no formal dress code is enforced, I recommend you wear something very nice; if for nothing else, you will feel more comfortable as everyone else does. The music in the background is very light and low in volume. This gives the place a much more cozier and intimate feel. The food is excellent; both the presentation and taste. The staff is well educated to explain anything in the dish, including ingredients. Etc Reservation is defiantly recommended here.

The risotto and chicken paillard are delicious. Order the Rhubarb and Strawberry Crumble for dessert- it's amazing!!

What a gem! I am very happy my husband stumbled upon Majorelle and made a reservation for us for a Friday night. Overall, we were happy about our food and service. The Vibe Set inside of a hotel, the restaurant is dimly lit and lavishly decorated with florals. The restaurant is perfumed with roses and other flowers and it makes the spot seem special. It's beauty makes the ambiance perfect for a romantic dinner or family / friend gathering. In fact we saw a birthday dinner take place while we were there. Their are a few rooms and each have a cohesive but separate ambiance. We were seated in the main dining room. The ServiceEmmanuel was our waiter and Marcos was our server. Impeccable. They didn't miss a beat. Friendly, professional and dedicated to each diner they did a very nice job. Service was prompt but not rushed. The Food We opted for the three course prix-fixe. Between us we had their complimentary Amuse Bouche (small bite) of a zucchini cake with caviar: a nice bite, very good soupe du jour - a delicious celery root soup: very good, nicely creamy and hotFois gras: good, not exceptional but the strawberry accompaniment was excellent Rib eye special with béarnaise & ratatouille: very good, medium rare executed perfectly Filet mignon au poivre with spinach & fries: one of the best filet mignon I have ever had. Delicious sauce and excellent fries. Mousse au chocolat: decadent and delicious but just way too much. Came with grand marnier whipped cream - yum! Lemon tart: a special, was delicious and beautiful The beverages Viet Zinger - spot on, just strong enough and also tasty French 75 - spot on, a classic cocktail Coffee - standard coffee fare, served in a teapotOverallI would definitely return to Majorelle and would bring some friends. Do check them out if you're in the area and looking for a nice escape from the city & looking for quality service.
